PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I installed the Airsimmer basic package last Monday. I have tried flying it several times but have been unable to finish most flights due to ctd's. This afternoon, I went to load up the MD-11, and got repeated ctd's. Everything works fine with the other addons that I have tried thus far, but the MD-11 refuses to load. I get the ctd after I hit fly now and the scenery load screen comes up. It remains a 0% for several seconds and then crashes. I never had to do this before the AS install, but I loaded the default Cessna and turned everything off. Then I tried to load the MD-11, but got a ctd. I will try a reinstall of the Mightydog as soon as I can reactivate my dow…

Anytime I fly near to Heavy thunderstorms the aircraft will gradualy slow down and then stall, i am enroute from TNCM - SBKP using AS6.5 SAT is -24 TAT is -7 so that seems ok for this time of the year. Right now I am FL310 (OPT330) 220 IAS with LO Speed protection and Stick shaker/Pusher 15 degrees nose up and the Auto slats have extended causing an overspeed.Edit Aircaft went full nose down and crashed. Not fun after 3 hours into the trip and a 1 hour preflight. This has happened before and I normaly vector well away from TS but at night I dont have any other option.Rob

I recently purchased the MD-11 FS09 version and I installed without any problems. When I started the program and selected the MD-11, showed the panel without the MFD displays illuminated. In addition, I have the Saitek X52 joystick and the flaps do not move when I select it through the joystick or when I select it throught the keyboard. Is there information in the documentation that came with the download?Thanks

3 months ago ,I build a new system for Flightsimming with the guide of Nick N. The install was with Vista 64bit and was not a succes because all thetime the sim was freezing or swapping between VC and 2d cockpit with md 11 was giving me a OOM or BSOD. So I decide to go for XP 64 bit. It solved the problem of getting BSOD or OOM while swapping but with every flight the MD 11 freezes after 1 1/2 flyingor more. In other words I haven't finished any long haul flight because the MD 11 freezes . The freeze is happening when I cruise at a level ofFL 340-400. Sometimes I was bussy with the FMC and for the most of times I did nothing, only looking on the screen and wasn't touchi…

Morning All,Can anyone tell me why the load manager doesn't work in anything other than the tutorial - I input my load data into the manager, save it but the info isn't transferred into the cdu when i go to any panel. I have VISTA 64 Bit.Thanks for any forthcoming assistance,Frederick Brown

Ok for some odd reason my md-11 gauges are freezing and then right after the freeze FSX puts "pillars" of textures in front of my aircraft ........Yes ive updated my graphics card drivers..and the problem still arises..even after clean install of everything works for about hour then the problem starts again and...... someone asked me if it was "pirated" no this isnt a "pirated" version ive have reciepts and order numbers to prove it.Just wondering if anyone else has/had this problem and is there a fix or are my MD-11 flying days over?quick rundown- 15-45mins into a flight MD-11 gauges freeze then "pillars" of textures appear and renders the flight impossable to complete.A…

Hello everybody. I have absolutely zero knowledge of textures, layers, bitmaps, etc. etc. So I was wondering if anybody would be kind enough to use the PMDG Paint Kit for the MD-11F PW model and possibly make a zip file a containing an all-white (essentially no work done on it) aircraft? That includes the exclusion of the port and starboard texts.Much thanks in advance.

Having a little trouble entering Lat/Long way points in the MD-11 FMS. I'm trying to enter them as NXXWXXX as described in the manual, but it keeps saying 'not in database'.What am I doing wrong?!Jordan Forrest

Hi All,I've been using the MD11 fine for months, but when I can to load her up today (engines running), I noticed this problem.I can't re-allign the IRS as the FMS is also black... (Yes, I've tried turning the brightness up).Any ideas?Regards,Sam N

Greetings all,I was just about to practice takeoffs on the MD11, and noticed that when I load a scenario from the PMDG menu (usually "short ground turn"), the "TAKEOFF CLAMP" appears in the pilot display. This is before I program the FMC, and obviously prior to pressing "NAV/AUTOFLIGHT/PROF" Why would anything be displayed there before I even start the checklist?Many thanks

I'm having a problem getting my MD-11 for 2004 to descend from cruise altitude. I did the tutorial that came with the simulation and everything worked properly until it came time for the aircraft begin its descent. At that time it descended to 36,800 feet and held. I checked the instructions and I followed them properly. Anyone know about this or have heard of this problem?

Just upgraded to Windows 7 Home edition (64 bit). A few problems to begin with but all ironed out now.Loaded FSX and then loaded the PMDG MD11. Having used this before on vista with no problems, i now load the aircraft and find that the cockpit is dead, no functionality at all. Also when i try to open the FSX menus to change the aircraft they dont appear.I had the problem of a dead cockpit before (on vista) and i had to install various versions of C++ to get it working, but i would have thought this time since i had those on my machine that the problem is different.Any ideas??????Thanks in advanceTom

Hi, I have the MD-11 and love it. I just had a quick question. Is there a way to engage JUST the autopilot with out the autothrottle and a way to JUST engage autothrottle without the autopilot? Instead of pressing AUTOFLIGHT? And if there is a way to do this, please tell me where the engage switches are.Thanks,Jeff Smiith

I don't know what happened. I am getting CTD with MD-11X during take off every flight around 3000 Ft. I changed graphic drivers and today I replaced Graphic card GTX280. No difference CTD is continuing.I unistalled MD-11X and reinstalled same result,CTD. I also duplicated the same flight with LDS 767X no problem . I am out of ideas.Will you please advise how can I fix this problem.ThanksSanal

Hi,after a "long" period with out a flight I've finaly found some time to take a short trip from Paris to Vienna. I started FS2004, selected MD-11 from Aircraft list and pressed Fly now! After aircraft has loaded I opend FMC and started programming it. After I filled everything in the INIT and FUEL page I moved to the F-PLAN. Clicked LFPG -> SID and than Flight Simulator got blank. Couldn't do anything with FS for about half a minute and than the fatal error was shown, saying following: The FS has to close, we are sorry... I clicked whre you can see error details. Does anyone fly the PMDG-MD-11 from London to Zurich as described in the MD-11 tutorial ?And if yes,where to get that particular flight plan from ?I built one using FSBuild,exported it to the 747 which works except that the waypoints arenot the same as in the tutorial.Thanks for helpGubert Werni

Hi..I've just bought the MD11 - as with all the other PMDG products it's fantastic!.I'm running Windows 7.The installation was faultless however when I select the MD11 from the aircraft menu I get a message telling me there is a licence error, I have to click OK 3 times before it closes. After that everything works perfectly... any ideas why this may be?.Also if I try to use the load manager I get the following message 'the application failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect'I ran the installation in admin mode... how can I correct this error?Thanks..Adrian

I'm having a strange issue with my keyboard commands for passenger doors and cabin lights.The passenger door keyboard command won't work at the beginning of the flight, but do at the end.The cabin lights are the other way round. I can turn the lights on at the start of the flight, but not towards the end.Is anyone else having these issues?

Hi,Bought the MD11X the other night and after installing it, the 747-400X appears to have been taken out of action. The gauges are black and there's no PMDG options on the menu.I feel it's due to the dll.xml being affected but surely a PMDG product should not affect another one? They use the same entries.Anyone else offer any advice on this? I see one or two similar forum posts but no real resolution. Support emailed. I have tried for some time to get the MD 11 lighting to work properly after loading a saved flight. If I create a flight then there is no issue.I could not get the lighting to work after installing the MD 11, loading a saved flight, and before I installed XG and ASA Advanced. I am aware that there has been forum discussion about the spotlight.bmp file in the Texture directory as being the resolution to the problem but when I replaced the file in the ASA directory with the original FSX file the problem still existed.I have contacted PMDG and have not got a successful resolution as of yet. As a side note does this problem exist on the J41?Any help would be appreciated.Thank…

I sometimes get an eicas message prompting me to enter the correct landing altitude. How do you do this, and where do you look to see the landing altitude displayed?Regards,jack

Hi guys, After flying a while with fs9 i wanted to fly the md11 in fsx again but somehow my fsx isn't working anymore so i decided to make a fresh install of itAbout halfway during installation ,the installation stopped and says it can't read a file from the dvd .After checking the dvd i noticed that there are scratches on it probably from my cats :(so i am going to buy a new dvd .Should i buy de fsx deluxe version or is it better to buy the gold edition with acceleration?If i buy the gold edition with acceleration do i still need the sp1 and sp2 ?Thanks in advance,Best regards ,G
