PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi,Have both MD-11X and 747-400X with FSX under Windows Vista. Both are excellent aircraft but have one problem.After completing a flight carried out in autopilot, after a successful landing I am then unable to continue with a return flight without reloading FSX. If I try just selecting the current airport and runway from the "World" option in the cockpit, I am unable to get the correct screens on the FMC to do the return flight plan which is showing the plan used to arrive at the current airport. Ending the flight and selecting the current airport and runway from the FSX screen results the aircraft's panels being completely blank and dark. All external views appear OK.Th…

I purchased the FSX MD-11 Aircraft this morning, installed it, but now when I select it, the game freezes then has a fatal error, I am running Windows Vista x64 with a Nvidia 9800GT graphics card, game ran fine until I installed this aircraft. Anyone have this happen to them too?

Hi,This has happened to me several times and kept me puzzled. So now it is time to ask for help. I fly from the VC.I take off from EHAM, runway 24, LEKKO dep. The SID states that at D4.2 SPL a left turn is to be made heading 153.So, before take off I have hdg 153 selected, not yet set.I take off, climb out and and set Auto Flight at 1500ft. Nothing else is set, no NAV, no profile.At D4.2 i set hdg 153 by right clicking the hdg knob. To my surprise the aircraft starts making a right turn and turns all the way until it aligns with the given direction. Hi Guys !!I have the mD11 installed o n FSX and vista 64! Only with this plane i have a problem in the VC there is some textures an lots more miss. So that i can see thetexture of the land or clouds normal cockpit and external view are perfect i can fly the plane take off landing but in the vc i have the yoke missing a lot of buttons on over head and i dont know the reason..Thanks Alfredo

Hello, after getting a new computer and reloading FS9 I had to get the MD-11 and thus over the quick thanksgiving holiday I did. However I have two quick questions about this wonderful Aircraft. First if your doing multi leg cargo flights, when you reach a technical stop do you have to reset the IRS's, say for example a quick fuel stop in Anchorage. Second what are some good flight planning utilities for this Aircraft since I want to make sure my flights are within 3900ish mile range of the freighter as it does not have as great of a range as its passenger counterpart at least I don't think it does when I was reading through the literature.Thanks!T. Hello everyone, I was on the ground in the MD-11 and I was investigating some test buttons I haven't every pressed before. Upon pushing the HYD PRESS TEST button on the Hydraulic Overhead panel...I got an Amber alert on the EIS saying HYD PRES TST FAIL. The alert I thought was cleared but it stayed on the EIS as HYD rest of flight. Checked the manual and it said I should call maintenance. I seriously doubt someone from MD would come to my house to fix this problem :) LOL...Can anyone help me out here? Also what would be the proper way of testing the HYD system to get a PASS rather than FAIL??Capt Paul

I have persuaded my wife that i need an early birthday present and will be ordering the MD-11 tomorrow (pay-day). For Christmas i was thinking about getting all the manuals from the PMDG shop. Has anyone here bought them and what do you think of them? CheersPhil Brewer.

Even with autoland the my MD11 lands appreciably beyond 'the numbers'. This makes it that much more difficult to stop the plane at a convenient turn off point and I often end up at the end of the runway (with medium braking).I am assuming that autoland should normally take me to touching down more or less on the numbers - is there therefore something amiss with what I am doing. Eg does it imply that my landing speed is too high........... or ... any ideas?i need hardly say that with manual landing I am often landing even further up the runway and it is even more difficult to stop the plane in time,Best wishes John Morgan

I bought the MD-11 from the PMDG website today and have just finished the tutorial flight that came with it. My head is spinning from all the systems, buttons, clicks and digital readouts etc. I am having a great time. The best thing is i know i have got so much to learn and the hours and days looking forward are very exiting. Hello!I am creating my own livery for the MD-11.I have mad an image on the fuse, but when i load it in to FSX the underside is black and the wings contain parts of the Decal file. hello. 1- in overhead pannel there are 2 buttons, APU PWR and APU, i like to give them a key command. is this possible.2- i like to give the baroset (altimeter) QNH increase and decrease a key command. the box for the mouse cursor is verry smal in VC cockpit and moves while flying. i know there is a reset button, but i like a key command.3- i like to assign key commands in the NUM PAD, they are not working. while everywere else they do work. my num pad is switched on.ramon kamstra.

Ok so I have the installer but it keep telling me I don't have FS9 9.1 (updated). So I uninstalled the update + reinstalled it, did a fresh download of the update and ran FS9 and it shows that its been updated, yet it will not let me install it. I'd like to fly my MD-11 tonight.Win 7 Home 64x

I am trying to save a panel state. I have tried to set up the FMS and swithes the way I want them for take off then save to reuse. I get an error message saying that the file could not be created. Is there a way to save all the settings and FMS data so that flying happens more frequently than typing?

Quick question for anyone using TOPCAT, does the export function work for you? I export the Cargo from a remote PC to the MD11 in real time, the Aircraft does get loaded but the FMC still uses the old weight. Did my first flight in the MD-11 in a long while last night (J41 been eating all my flight sim time hehe). I am in a VA, and there is a hard capped limit on speed below FL100 of 250kts. In the MD-11 FMS, on the flight plan page, clicking on a climb-out fix it shows the vertical revisions page. On the right hand side it shows a 250kts restriction below FL100, yet when I fly the takeoff (using autoflight) the plane still accelerates past this limit. The flight plan page does show the computer predicting the speed as over the 250kts as well.I realize that the plane wants to go faster than 250kts when I'm loaded heavy for the optimum angle and all, but should it not still adh…
