PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

It happens, that all displays in the cockpit stop responding... (maybe more thatn only the monitors, but that's where it can be seen quickly) ... and then I also had those uiautomationcore.dll crashes (FSX on Win7 x64) ... so, before I try the solutions I found for the uiautomationcore.dll, I would like to know, if those problems are related to each other or not... does someone know something about that? ...Rudolf

Hi,I have read a lot of topics concerning CTD with the MD-11. Most users crash when using the FMC for Directs or entering SIDs or STARs. I crashed three times in a row at performing a FL change:I pre-selected a crz-altitude of 300 in the FMC. After reaching this and being in crz-mode I checked the OPT-Alt in the FMS, saying FL 365. So I changed this on the INIT-site, pressed "prof" and the plane started climbing. Within this climb I always crashed (even when I pressed not a button, I didnt touch anything). I am using version 1.2 . my specs: 2x nvidia gtx 295, 1,7 GB; 8 GB Ram; AMD Phenom IIDoes anyone know this issue or has a solution for this?Greets Christoph

So I finally bought this bad boy we know as the MD-11. Honestly, the first couple of times I have used this imulation I have just played with the cockpit lighting. It's awesome. However, I don't even know where to begin on how to fly this thing. Any tips would be appriciated.matt kubanda

Does anyone here have their MD11 installed on their PC with FSX and Acceleration?I am looking at purchasing Acceleration, but I do not want it to interfere with my MD11 installation.

While using REX real weather, I fly cruise between 350 and 400. When using default FSX real weather, there aren't very many clouds, sky is always crystal clear at altitude, however the air temps remain nominal so the fuel won't freeze. The MD-11's fuel frrezez at -40C. In REX, the sky are amazingly presented with multiple colorful cloud layers, smog near cities and fog, however the air temps at altitude cause te MD-11s fuel to freeze at about an hour of cruising. Is there a method to keep the fuel from freezing, or is this just an REX anomaly? I know to prevent freezing the pilot must descend to a lower altitude, but that would mean a decent to around 10,000'. I would lov…

I've got a weird situation going on whereby my PFD, ND & Eicas displays in the VC mode are blurry or hard to read. All other panels including the overhead, and center console are fine at 1920 X 1080 resolution. When I switch to 2D mode, the gauges are real crisp and the resolution is great. Anybody know what could be causing this to happen as I have never experienced this before. Regards,jack

I know the PMDG manual instructs the user to use PMDG Load/fuel editor. My question..I just got TOPCAT after reading MD-11 Tut. no.2 and have been reading the manual etc......Does TOPCAT alter/change the CARGO/PAX load in PMDG MD-11 (acrft CFG) via that program or do I still need to use PMDG load editor? In my last 10 flights, gradually ILS started to not lining up with RWY center line. First I thought maybe Navigraph data has some problems, I began to close monitor ILS progress. AP trying to intercept the signal, but plane keep moving left (no cross wind . no less power in one engine, all trims in centerline, no flap/spolier and controls problems) Yesterday night during AP in autolandmode to KJFK 31L approach. MD-11 was realy off to left. If I didnt takeover the yoke , MD-11X was going land off the runway.Will you please inform, What is causing this problem? How can I correct ILS errors?ThanksSanal

Hi all! I bought PMDG MD-11 some weeks ago, and updated it to the latest version found on PMDG website. I'm running Windows Vista (x64) SP 2, and FSX SP 2 with a Microsoft ForceFeedback joystick with no FSUIPC installed.The problem I'm having is: when I land (CATIII landing or "manual"), with spoilers and reverse thrust armed, and autobrakes set (MIN, MED or MAX), the brakes don't turn off! I move the button to "off", but I keep getting a red FS message at the bottom letf corner of the screen saying "brakes", and no matter what I do it stops the a/c completely.I've tried pressing the brakes button, setting off my joystick, pressing "."... Now bring on that advanced tutorial. :)I have finally got round to flying what is essentially my birthday present (purchased this a month ago or something) but with family and job etc the holidays are the only time i can sit down with the manuals and give it a go. I just loved it. No problems at all with stability it flew as described and that as a customer is all i/we (surely) ask.Great product and i can't wait to get good at this. I have had to re-install FSX and have been re-installing add-ons, I now have the MD11 re-installed and activated OK.If I load a situation using the MD11 from FSX startup then all seems to be OK, however if I first load another default a/c I do not get the progress bar installing the fixes, etc. nor the countdown to initialize the panel when either switching to the M11 a/c or loading a saved situation using the M11. Then I get black screens in the panel and the yoke appears to be twisted hard one way and will not respond- also no switches respond.I don't recall this being an issue before but I could be wrong- any suggestions?Thanks, Bruce.

Hi,Been playing around with the MD-11 in FS9 for a while know. I tried the tutorial EGLL-LZSH and it went pretty well.However I just tried I EHAM-TNCM and I had a few problems. I was on VATSIM. (Yes, I do realise it's a bit stupid to fly an 8 hour flight with ATC when I only have about 1 hour on the thing)Using the manual I was able to program the CDU properly. I might of had a few problems with the fuel managing though, I just guessed a random number. I have read somewhere else on this forum that the FMC has a built in fuel calculator? Hi everybody...During a World Tour on IVAO i had to fly from Saipan Int. (PGSN) to Hobart (YMHB).Using the MD-11 and Airac 0911.If i enter PGSN/YMHB for Dep./Dest. i get the message NOT IN DATA BASE.ok. Itried something different. Using PGSN/YMML. Thats working. Now i wanted to use YMHB as Alternate.Same again.. NOT IN DATA BASE.I wrote to navigraph but they said YMHB is in the DB.I opened the Airport.dat with the editor and indeed....there it is.But if the Airport is in the Database....why can't i enter it into the FMS???Itried the Jetstream 4100. Hi all in the forumI am at the stage in the advanced tutorial where I have read every word and catagorised "what I understand" and "what I will understand with research" and "what I cannot find an aswer to", and there is only one question in the last topic (at least til I try and fly it) and that is regarding de-rated take offs. I understnd why it is done and how it is done. What I do not unerastand is: The OAT is entered into the fmc in degrees C because that is the format entered. I have the latest verion of the MD-11 installed with Windows XP 64-Bit with FSX. When I try to install several liveries, the installation process proceeds as normal. However, when I enter the FSX aircraft select window, it shows all of the liveries I installed. I would select a particular livery, then a window would pop up saying that FSX was unable to display the model and there would be no visible aircraft. I have read a few post about theis particular problem. I have double cecked my aircraft.cfg files and each aircraft is numbered consecutively. I have completely uninstalled the aircraft and reinstalled, yet the same problem. I think it is important to note that this …
