Hello.I hope you all might be able to help me. Been flying the FS9 version for some time now without any problems. Finished a flight Thursday evening and all went fine. Tried to start a flight Friday and had some problems. I will typically load in VC at the gate. Everything loaded until it was time for the MD-11 to go thru its 15 second initialization process. It didn't and it won't. Instead the gauges stay black and the the VC is transparent in many places. I assumed that maybe my McAfee decided to erase a file as it did for my LDS a while ago so I unistalled McAfee and reinstalled the MD-11. Still same problems. I did not erase all my repaints and etc. however…

This has been confusing me for a while - I have read through the PMDG FCOM & The FEDEX FCOM and seen the following - QFE operation is disabled. If selected, QFE DISAB displays boxed in amber.When I select QFE on the aircraft I do indeed see QFE disabled however I am 99% sure I have switched to QFE in the past and it has worked. So I've studied every inch of the MD11F but this has had me stumped for a good 7 - 8 months, I cant remember what airport I flew into when using QFE (think it was in Russia) RegardsRob

HiThis is weird. I usually choose the 'long turn around' saved flight option before flying the MD-11. But as of today, it doesn't work. The other options are all fine, so I can choose between cold and dark or short turn around without any problem. OK, it's hardly a major disaster, but why do these irritating things happen? Has anyone got any thoughts on how I could get my long turn around option back?Thanks.

Hi Capts. and F/Os, Could someone be so kind as to post or point me to the post(if available...), where I can find the config. data which would allow me to use the A2A 3D Lights Redux, with this beauty (the MD-11, that is..) :( ? I have searched high and low on this forum and also on the A2A forums, and just keep coming up empty !! :( I have found the data for the 747-400/F X and also the JS4100, but ditto "Not" for the MD-11. I have been without my MD-11 for a couple days now, following a reformat etc... I was able to reinstall and validate the 744 without issue, yet I cannot vaildate the MD-11. I get this error "Unable to validate your license. Please contact PMDG Technical Support". I have not yet received an automated responce and have tried a couple different addresses. I have been on their home page all morning looking for some info as well as reading the posts here, I am not running a firewall,, well not anymore that is. Hello all,Ihave a problem with my MD-11. When starting from either "cold and dark" or "Training mode" of the panel choice, my IRS will stay in the align mode even after finishing its alignment. This only when I put it in realistic mode. In the 15 sec. mode it still works ok. Any suggestionsthanks in advance,Pieter

Hi, I am wondering why my MD11 starts in a cold and dark state when loading a saved flight mid-air (i.e. a saved approach)? Is this indicative of something being wrong with my install, or is it simply a missing feature with the product? Saved flights work perfectly with the 747 (well almost perfect at least). It helps me practice my landing skills :) I would really like to do the same with the MD11.Thanks in advance for your answers!

I'm still a little unsure about the flaps markers on the speed tape. What I understand so far: As long as a specific value is green, it's safe to use that setting. During acceleration, the markers are a guide when to retract flaps. So, they're more an indication for maximum speed for a given flaps setting.Where I'm in doubt is during the deceleration phase. Since the flaps markers don't indicate maneuver speeds, I wonder how I can determine those when hand flying. From what I see in other planes, maneuver speeds are well above Vs or Vmin, so they look as if they provide a speed safety margin. Hello everyone,after reinstalling my PMDG 747 all the displays from the MD-11 are either black ( all MCDUs ) or have a big green diagonal cross ( PFD, ND and the display in the middle ).i tried a repair for the MD-11 but problem is still present.in the past i had an issue with my AntiVirus software deleting the cargo-managers of both aircrafts but with a repair i solved that problem, except for the 747 which i had to reinstall.Now, however, my MD-11 has this strange issue. it can't be the systems as i load the aircraft in full start-up.i would be very thankful for any adviceDominik Tedja

Hi guys,Im flying the MD-11 with a lot of joy! I have just one problem that recently appeared. My brakes dont seem to work anymore. I tried several flights and several loaded panel states and the hydraulics seem to be ok as well. The breaking is also indicated in FSX, but still no breaking action - not nice to end up in the green...What am I doing wrong?Cheers,Macc

I can't seem to get the IRU's to align. What I'm I doing wrong? I have everything on the overhead panel all clear but I'm showing 3 amber lights in the IRS panel. I must admit, I haven't started her in awhile, but I never had any problem like this before..Regards,Jack

Greetings all,Earlier today I attempted a practice takeoff. I programmed the plane for a KPHL-EDDF flight. Followed the checklist, and just before taking the runway I pressed the 'NAV" and 'AUTOFLIGHT" buttons. I noted the "NAV ARMED" and "ATS OFF" indications on the display. I also noted the "green box", which should have indicated everything being configured correctly. I then pressed the F3 key on my keyboard (should I have pressed F4?). I never heard the 2 "clicks" nor any verbal announcements, but did see the "T.O. CLAMP". The aircraft seemed to take forever to get up to speed, and at the end of the 9500 ft runway it was just approaching 100 kts, not fast enough for t…

Hello,I recently installed Windows 7 64 bit. I have 6gb of memory on my system. When I fired up the MD 11 to start a flight in FSX, everything went fine until just before takeoff I got a "The memory could not be read" error and FSX closed. Great! Now I havent had this problem before, and was wondering if this could mean a faulty memory module? Or has anyone else with Win7 experienced this problem?

I recently encountered a little nice bug...I flew through Russia and for almost every approach there, ADF beacons are essential.Now the MD-11 FMS offers an autotune feature for ADF as well as for Nav1/2. But, the frequency is tuned with the decimal point being at the wrong digit! For example, an ADF has a frequency of 230 kHz. Then the FMS tries to tune it at 23.0 kHz. The same with a frequency above 1000 kHz, like 1080 kHz. The FMS displays (and tunes to) 108.0 kHz.Has anyone experienced a similar behaviour yet?As it may be useful... I'm running FS9 (with MD-11 for FS9, of course :( ) and Vista Ultimate 32bit.Maximilian

Does anyone know how to silence cockpit ambient sound in PMDG MD-11 so I can hear more the sweet engine sound ? I know this would probably less realistic but I prefer to hear engine sound than ambient sound. Can FS9 sound setting help to do this ? tx

Two small issues, the EVM typo and thrust washout on takeoff roll.The EVM typo is something I'm fixated on now.... :( PMDG say EMV COMP/TURB not EVMReal MD-11 for referenceI don't get how this was missed, but it seems a real simple fix. Plus the thrust reduction on takeoff roll can't be that difficult to fix either. The MD-11 has the least bugs of any add-on I've ever owned, why not fix these few remaining issues?

I just did a re-install of MD11 including the lastest update. The MD11 Load Manager does fine for passenger seating Weight and Balance calculations, but cargo calcs. are bizarre. With "No Cargo", ZFW = 0, ZFWCG= -1.$, TOGW = -1500 and TOCG = -1.$ There is no cargo load that is not in red numbers or negative red numbers if any cargo load is added. What do I do to fix this please?Randy Jura, KPDX
