PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I ran a compatibility check on the saved files for my MD-11 and it said the addon liveries were incompatable, so that would explain whey they won't install, does anyone know how to fix this?Michael Pare.

I am having problems installing some liveries for the MD11 . I use fs9, Windows 7 64 bit. This problem just started. I had already had the MD11 and 2 other liveries installed and working fine since upgrading to Win 7. I set the administrative rights, I tried running as administrator. The closest I got was it showed up once but when I loaded it FS9 crashed. I have tried installing 3 different ones just to make sure the installer isn't corrupt. I have even re downloaded it. I need to point out this is for the MD11 GE model. The others I installed when I upgraded to Win 7 where both MD11F PW models.ThanksRichie Walsh

I'm guessing this is expected behavior, but it seems a little odd.I was following the CYY5 star into KMIA, and I had put 4000 into the FCP for a descent altitude. I was then cleared down to 1600 which was the only altitude constraint (actually part of the ILS for the runway.) As soon as I lowered the altitude in the FCP, the aircraft pitched down rather violently, causing the passengers in fspassengers to freak out as well as a "sink rate" audible warning from the plane.I was at approximately FL220 at the time and a ways out still.It seems to me that the autopilot redid a calculation of where its optimal flight path was, and tried to quickly catch up by dropping at abou…

hello,I was wondering if any of you guys are flying the md-11 using ASA in non dwc mode and using a registered fsuipc for the wind smoothing. activesky really does a nice job with wind smoothing but Id really like to have the weather run in station based mode and not global mode but i would lose the wind smoothing so I want to know if fsuipc does a good job with wind smoothing on it's own. Hello buddies.Last night i bought the PMDG's MD11 for FSX. I installed it and gave it a try. I noticed that the Yoke doesnt move when i pull my CH yoke. The other thing i found is that when i try to extend the flaps i see extending just the nearest to the fuselage. The other part doesnt extend as well as the slats. I also noticed that the ailerons dont move so i cant bank the airplane. I installed the fsx sp2 but it didnt work to correct this.If you can help me ill be so glad.Thanls.

Why didn't PMDG release an SDK with the MD11?

Hello all,Suppose I have one fix on the point of different angle intersections between two VOR.The PMDG737 and 747 can enter VOR bearing /VOR bearing for example(SHY126/HSN359).But MD11 can not do this.Can you please tell me what format in MD11?Thank you so much in advance.

Hello!First, the MD11 is awesome! Easily worth every penny.Regardless I have some (rather minor) issues with this AC. Most annoying thing I've encountered by now is a bug in the panel state saves. For example, when I select cold&dark setup, the aircraft seems otherwise normal but the first left hand door is missing. The door cannot be closed. This pretty much prevents me from flying, as I get constant warnings and loss of cabin pressure. This happens also in some other templates. Sometimes the cargo doors are also open and cannot be closed.If I start a flight without loading a panel state and try to press shift+e to open the door, nothing happens. Nor does anything ha…

Does anybody else feel that the MD11's autopilot performance is below par compared with past PMDG products?-For a heavy, the roll rate seems rather harsh, particularly the commencement of the roll. -Slowing from 290kts to 250kts in idle CLAMP, causes the autopilot to pitch up so hard that if it were a real aircraft there would almost certainly be structual damage!-With V/S selected, the A/P struggles to maintain the correct ROD at slower speeds when it initiates a turn.-LOC capture is really sloppy and often turns in too early.-At 180kts and flap 15, with HDG SEL, the A/P oscilates in roll at about 15 deg either side as it "hunts" for the heading.These are all observed wi…

Hello!I haven't found a topic on this, so i made a new one (correct me if i'm wrong)But i have a question about flying holding patterns in a MD-11, here is my situation...I am flying a STAR using AUTO FLIGHT.There is an aircraft in front so i can't land and i have to do a hold at say... intersection RIVER of the STAR.Now the hold is not on the map, so i disengage the autopilot and the ATS, and i fly the holding pattern.But afterwards, i want to continue the STAR with AUTO FLIGHT.But i can't get to go back on. It doesn't matter which button i press. Maybe it is because i pass the point RIVER during the turn?What i am doing wrong? Or.. what i suppossed to do when i want it …

I ask this because I have been experiencing some issues since installing my MD-11 on my new windows 7 machine, like the liveries not installing and after a long period of flying it stops tracking the FMC flightplan. I wonder if there some compatability issues.Michael Pare.

According the FMS Operating Manual (FMS.40.44) there is a "[..] capability to constrain the aircraft to an altitude at a waypoint cruise. [..] The flight level must be equal to one [..] on the F-PLN INIT page. [..] Entry of an altitude constraint during cruise flight will relocate the associated S/C to the constrained waypoint [..]".When I'm trying to input a S/C before the optimum position calculated by the FMS everything works as stated but when delaying it I get the predictions related to the optimum S/C position instead of the constrained one. Hi all,I'm always getting the DUAL LAND annunciation when passing 1500ft AGL while perfoming an ILS followed by a circling with the following cockpit setup:1. Both BARO minimums on the circling MDA (890ft)2. FMA --> LOC - LAND ARMED - HOLD 2100 once established on the LOC3. FCP = MDA (890ft)4. GS capture (FMA --> LOC - LAND ARMED - G/S 2100)I never get the supposed APPR ONLY on the FMA passing 1500ft AGL nor the FMA turns to altitude/heading hold at the MDA. For some unknown reason I can not access the MD11 forum. I have access to the 747-400 forum and have made good use of it over the last week. However my problem related to the MD11 as well as the 747. All was delt with but I now have inherited a flight control problem with the MD11. Namely I have flown two destinations and once into the STAR have lost control of the aircraft at the critical Engage the Autoland. The button does not respond and I end up overflying the desination airport.The aircraft flys without fault to this point right down to capture altitude and airspeed relative to the STAR parameters.Any ideas???Mick Hill

Hello, I just bought the MD-11 but I can't seem to assign a button press from my Saitek Pro Flight throttles to open certain panels. I have FSUIPC registered version. Is it possible the MD-11 does not recognise the button press for some reason. My PMDG 747 works great. Currently I press the throttle buttons and the panels with the (shift + number) comes up, which are not the panels I want. I would like overhead and the others up.Thank you Steven HigaOxford England

Hello,Anyone else get a black screen when trying to run an instant replay using the MD-11 with TrackIR v5 on FSX and Windows 7? Hi all,I've been going over the MD-11 tutorial that came with the MD-11 product. I would run flight simulator while reading the MD-11 tutorial. What I do is I read a section of the tutorial and toggle back to flight simulator by using the alt and tab keys. When I have performed the function called for in the tutorial, I toggle back to the pdf file and read another section of it. At one time, as I was pushing back from the gate, flight sim crashed and did not get to fishish the tutorial. I got the the error message that flight simulator had to close. At another time, I got to push the MD-11 back and started the engines. But it crashed on me again and this time I got the me…

Hi,I've been flying the MD-11 so far simply guessing the required fuel loads and seeing how much I'd have left at the destination. I was checking out the refueling page of the MCDU when I noticed this 'AUTO' option was available. So my question is: if I select this after I have entered my route, alternate etc., will it calculate and load how much fuel I'll need automatically? Sounds like a really neat feature.
