PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi...all those pln to rte tools that I found don't work and since the pln format of FSX is easy to understand I wanted to write my own converter (I'll send you the source code when it's done), but my problem is, that I can only guess how the rte files have to be built... is there some documentation about that?thanks a lot...

Hi everyone, I have a quick question that I didn't see addressed in a search. Lets say I have just completed a flight from Airport A to Airport B. I am parked at the gate and I want to do another flight From Airport B to Airport C. If I loaded up the MD11 Load manager and recomputed a different load...Would I have to RESTART the Simulator?? Or can I just go ahead and start programing the FMS with the NEW figures?? Any help on this would be great!!! Capt Paul

Hi,I recently purchased the MD-11 and when I try and install the aircraft my order ID etc is validated and the install begins.However, approximately 3/4 of the way through the installer simply disappears. The program shows as installed and works in FS9 but I cannot access the Load Manager because it brings up an error about "the application configuration being incorrect" or words to that effect.Can anybody provide assistance? Hi all,I just installed the SDK (Software Development Kit) with its two service packs SP1A and SP2. (I have been using the FSX from its release without the SDK).This seems to have changed the fonts in the cockpit instruments making them smaller or replacing them with A and Os!! For example the speed and the altitude read outs in the PFD.Any suggestions what might have happened and how I can restore previous correct fonts?Thank you,Christos

Hello peoples, I am trying to create some repaints for FS9 users and unfortunatley do not have FS9 to test. I have done several FSX repaints and am very familliar with using the kits themselves but the read me's instructions have left me with a couple simple questions.1.) It is stated in the Read Me that "ImageTool, found in the FSX Scenery SDK, must be used to convert your Photoshop files into the required FS9 format." Is the Required Format a .bmp? (all other steps are finished).2.) With FSX repaints and prior to saving, the files need to be flipped Vertically, is this also needed to do with FS9?Thanks for sheddin some light on this!

Hello, I noticed after flying the 747, the helpful little panel that allows you to call up various systems is not present in the MD-11.....or perhaps I have missed it because trying to find the right system panel I need at a moments notice is quite challenging.Thanks, T. Dawkins

Did anyone already try the new advanced MD11 tutorial? I started reading it and preparing the aircraft for the flight. Yet I face an odd problem with the MD11 Load Manager! Please check the attached screenshot and compare it with that given in page 5 of the tutorial. As you may notice, there are a few differences. For example, the 322 passenger are ....heavier in the tutorial Load Manager. Hello everyone,Since a while, I have a strange problem on my MD-11 for FSX. It used to work fine and everything looked great. Then, when I installed some liveries that I had downloaded from the PMDG website the wing lights and landing/taxi lights went crazy. I have made 3 screenshots to illustrate what it does.First of all, the lights at the end of the wings are blue, all 4 of them. Even with my little knowledge of airplanes I know that its incorrect that they look like that. Then the landing and taxi lights, those lights have suddenly decided it would be best to iluminate the ground a few hundred meters in front of the aircraft. Does anyone have the ATI Radeon 4800 card and if so what driver version are you using? On the MD-11 i have funny raggered lines through the panels using this card and driver 9.1.Just wondering if an updated driver has fixed this before i go to the effort of updating to find it hasnt yet been fixed.

I have been using the MD-11 in FS9 since it was released on a regular basis and the FMC always tells me that the MLW is 458,000 pounds where the manual states the MLW is 491,500 pounds. I have upgraded my computer twice since the MD-11's FS9 release, this includes a full reinstall of everything. I have attached a screenshot, I always start off with a cold and dark cockpit but I took the screen shots with the engines running to save time.This happens with both the passenger and freighter models.

Hey guys, I am sorry to start another thread regarding this but I read through most of them and still didn't come to a solution. I am in FSX Accelerated, Vista 64 Sp2, I am using rudder pedals that do work correctly, and for the, "Brake Tests" i have been un-assigning brake axis from the pedals. I am also sure my thrust levers are not spiking, and as of now there is nothing else I have been able to try other than the (Aircraft.cfg brakes_1 etc.) deal.Any other help would be great!Angelo Cosma

I could use some guidance in emplying a VOR approach with the MD-11. The situation is this:I'm inbound to an airport (TNCM) with no ILS approaches...they're all VOR approaches. I've entered the VOR approach into the FMS, which then prompts me for a MIN PROF entry, usually the published MDA for the airport. I've then armed the approach and have gotten the VOR TRACK indication in the FMS. All's well and good, and the plane beautifully captures and tracks the proper VOR radial for the approach. I've got the runway visual from 5000 feet or more in altitude and I'm on my descent, of course.Forgive my ignorance here, but what should I do when I reach the MIN PROF altitude on th…

Hello there,As I am a (really) happy user of the MD11 combo and it's fabulous printed documentation, I would like to know if we may expect a new SP with some fix to the open issues, like : The descent constraint being always managed as "AT OR ABOVE" by the auto-pilot even it is an "AT OR BELOW" one, Auto-pilot climbing to the glide if you intercept LLZ before receiving G/S signal on FL Change mode. This is an open issue since now 6 months and, if I understand the release of your fabulous turboprop differed any patch, is there a plan to release (soon or not) a new one for the MD11, both for FS9 and FSX ?Kind regards.

I'm having some problems with FS2Crew and the MD-11's A/T logic on final approach. Normally I hand fly final and use the A/T to assist. Pre-FS2Crew, as you know, the A/T system would go to idle at about 50AGL so you could flare. This logic works fine without FS2Crew. However, when using FS2C, when I start my flare, the engines spool up as if they are trying to maintain Vref instead of letting me land.Yes, I have completed the final checklist and have called, "LAND."Any suggestions, or have any of you experienced this?Thanks

I bought a new laptop with windows 7 and runs flightsim 9 great, but many of the PMDG liveries will not install. I have a few cargo like World, UPS MartinAIr,but that is it. Dekta won't install or any passenger liveries won't install, any ideas here?Michael Pare.

I have already put in an e mail to PMDG but I figured that I would put something up in here in case anyone else has had this issue and if it were to be resolved here they would have a faster resource to pull from. After installing my FSX on Windows 7 and installing my PMDG MD-11 I decided a nice flight from my FSDreamteam O Hare to Atlanta was in order. I loaded up my FSX, got all excited and found that my MD11 wouldn't initialize the aircraft panels. The authorization went fine, everything checked out with the authorization, but the SID/STAR initialization did not show up. Hi all, I'm using the original painkit from pmdg. I have redone the textures for the fuselage, the tail, the engines and the winglets.The other textures are copied from the GE original folder. Well, the aircraft is perfect but on the front i see four different texts:PMDG over the cabin windowsMF and BG on the sides of the PMDG text over the cabin windowsPMDG just under the noseI cannot find where are those texts, I checked all the other texture files, I'm going crazy...I'm sure that I'm missing something somewhere, but I'm sure that there's a way to fix that, if the other official PMDG textures are without those texts... :(
