    Does anybody have experiences with the MD-11 and extreme low tempertures. Actually planning a trip to CYFB and the METAR looks like this: CYFB 211900Z 33029KT 5SM R35/4500VP6000FT/D BLSN FEW100 M31/M36 A2994 RMK BLSN2AC1 SLP145 :( Don't want to be trapped into this field. But the A380 did his low temp tests so the MD-11 will cope with it anyway :( Denis

    I don't understand the logic of the FR marker and the T-shaped head of the amber low speed caution range on the speed tape during takeoff, particularly at high gross weights.If I perform a takeoff at a gross weight of 280.00mt with flaps 25 Temp 14C (no flex), the following happens...The aircraft climbs initially at about 190 KIAS as per the target speed. This is sitting right on the green FR marker. My understanding is that once your speed exceeds this marker and it turns green, it is safe to retract the flaps! After passing ACCEL altitude, the magenta circle moves to VCL and the aircraft accel past FR speed. The FR flag turns green - however, if you go ahead and retract…

    The fmc on the MD11 has to be the worst and most complicated that PMDG has come up with yet!!! I disconnected the autopilot and had to shut down FS9 to stop the voice from saying "autopilot" !!

    Hi,I've applied the ntcore patch as suggested in the PMDG documentation for the MD-11, but I'm a little confused with the next reccomendations in the documentation. Obviously the above relates to XP but where, if any, does the necessary tweak to the configuration go in Windows 7, does anyone know ?

I noticed today that my taxi and landing lights give strange reflections far away in front of the aircraft (check the images)At the same time the runway turnoff lights give normal ground reflections.Does anybody knows how to fix this as it is becoming tough to taxi the aircraft at night without seeing anything in front of the nose.

    I am flying the MD-11 from day (well in Europe night) 1. In the mean time I think I know the aircraft pretty well. This is partly because one of the first things I did, was flying the tutorial and I bought the manuals on paper on the Flightsim days in The Netherlands. (Very beautifull by the way, made by Boeing for PMDG the guy from Aerosoft told me.)In the tutorial a tutorial 2 was mentioned. But I do not have this tutorial with my PMDG MD-11. I cannot find it on the site. I searched this forum. However, nowhere to be found.I can offcourse wait until AOA for PMDG MD-11 comes.     Hi all,I'm not sure if im having a problem or not so i hope someone can explain this to me. "so here i am sitting in the 2d panel of the PMDG MD-11. I deploy flaps to 15 degrees while looking at the SD Config page, and i see the little indicator of the flaps is telling me that the outboards are deployed to 16 and one inboard is 15 while one is 14. I wonder what this could be so i deploy to 28. Same thing happens, some are 27 some are 26 and some are 29. I switch to another varient and all of this continues to happen.     I am one of those people that doesn't like reading from a computer screen. This usually isn't a problem, given the fact that most stuff isn't 1400 pages. The MD-11 manual is... I was wondering, how do people solve this problem? do you end u reading from the screen? Do you print it out yourself, all of it? Do you go to some print shop (like I did with the Boeing 747 manual; cost me a fortune, but wow, does it look good!)? Do you end up printing out sections? Or, did you just buy PMDG's printed manual (which looks fairly appetizing, I must admit)? I'd like to know what your way of solving this problem is.

  16. Ok I had a problem with the 747 which looked exactly like this problem. The outer skin of the aircraft is not rendering. Already at the aircraft selection the engines are not displayed. What happened with the 747 was that I actually had a part of FSX installed TWO - 2- times, and that obviously made the pmdg aircraft confused. So I completely removed both of them and reintalled and all was fine.Untill I installed the MD11... :( Now it (the MD11, not the 747) suffer the same problem, although I cannot understand why. I have made sure that there are no ghosts left on my pc. I dont have the time (or stomach) to completely reinstall FSX yet again. It takes HOURS! If you possi…

    Basically I can takeoff quite simply however Im never really sure why the thrust does what it does. So does it maintain V2 until "Climb Thrust" roughly @1500ft. And does it then go to ACCEL thrust above 3000ft.This is assuming no waypoint restrictions and the CLB & ACCEL altitudes haven't been altered. Is this spot on or are there other factors that make the FMS go thats a good speed. Also does it wait for you to retract flaps in any way or is it a catch up game with the pilot having to retract as the speed increases. So in the DEP page on the FMC theres V1 VR V2 VFR V3/VSR VCL.     Where do I find instructions on how to set the aircraft up for manual flight. I can take off fine, but when I am on my final approach I have a hard time getting my airspeed down, the speed brakes will not activate, when I land the plane will not stop, F2 will not activate reverse thrust and even with the throttle on my joystick set to zero the plane will not slow down, it keeps going off the end of the runway at 180 knots, pressing the brake has hardly no effect, hitting the z key to make sure the autopilot is disengaged has no effect.I did a quick review of the table of contents for the manuals and did not see a section on manual flight and that does not mean that it is…

    Well a few weeks back, there had been a thread going on here about people having lock ups and CTD's with FSX on giving a message that a fatal error had occured. I could not find the old thread, so I apologize if I'm making a new one when I'm just blind to the old one. Now last I saw of the topic, there were no real solutions, but a few suggestions had been given. Since then I have tried re-installing, avoiding additional addons such as other payware aircraft and FSCrew2. For a while it seemed to have made the difference, but low and behold after about 5 successful flights in, I get the error.
