PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

This has happenened too many times now for it to be a glitch.I`m at FL310 with real weather, always more or less an hour or hour and a bit into my flight, all Auto, and the mach value and "Thrust" (magenta) start flashing alternately amnd my speed goes silly, and although "Hold" (white) and my chosen FL (magenta) remain fixed, I start dropping and climbing so much that that REALLY annoying chap at Radar Contact starts bugging me about my "needing any assistance".Where should I look for the causes of this? I had a question regarding the flight director commands to hold V2 during my climbout. During a normal takeoff utilizing the AFS and flight director and having the Vspeeds set correctly, I want to climb out holding V2 or V2+10. Typically, if I overshoot my V2 speed by some amount, I would just hold that speed, and not pitch up to slow back down to V2. The problem is, the flight directors are commanding this pitch up to get back down to my V2 speed.In the 747, I never had this issue. It would set the speed bug and flight director at whatever speed I captured until acceleration height. Is this normal behavior for the MD-11? It's not a big issue but I would like to kno…

Hi, I've just bought the MD-11 from Precision Manuals and It's a really great plane, however everytime I reload the aircraft the screens are black. Plus when I go Add-ons>PMDG>Options nothing shows up not even Aircraft Fuel selection, and weirdly I can't move anything in the Overhead panel. Hi all,I have a question regarding takeoff flaps, hopefully someone can explain. A few days ago, I was taking off from FAJS to HECA. It was hot and high and had a lot of fuel and payload onboard. I entered 22 takeoff flaps in FMS and selected via dial-a-flap. Obviously, due to takeoff weight, the V2 was rather high (175 kts or similar). I took of normally, maintaining V2 and engaged auto flight at 500ft AGL. Now, once I get into the acceleration phase, I notice the FR green mark on the speed tape is rather close to the flaps overspeed yellow band, so, at FR+5kts, I raise the flap. Normally, I would wait a little more but this time, as soon as I do that, I got into low spe…

Now this might be a real stupid question, I have never had an issue with this until last night flying in to SKBO, I had to maintain 11300ft, I could not enter that, I could go 11000, 11500, 10500, above 10000 the alt selector goes up in increments of 500. Am I just doing something terribly wrong.

Can some one help me, I have installed the md11 on fsx, the pmdg is not showing on the addon drop menue on the fsx.I also have no power on the panel event if I turn on the battery power on. Is like the panel dosent work at all.the aircracft shows normal but nothing happent. I save for over two month to be able to buy these aircraft and still have to wait to be able to fligth. so can some one help and tell me wath is wrond. The crt's are black

Evening guys, when i start from cold n dark etc i get everything set up sweet, i enter the runway and i cant activate the nav button to follow my route, and instead it shows my a/c heading 90 degrees anti clockwise to where i should be heading ie if i put 258 to leave egkk 26l, my heading points to 160 deg or something like that, and i cant get it to activate whatsoever, it worked ok before and yet im not doing anything different to what i did before,Thanks paul westcott

I have placed the included files in their correct places and set about doing the tutorial. I see it mentions radar vectoring and, as I have RC ver 4.3, I set about loading the required info into that. However where Radar Contact asks for the .PLN file I come unstuck. I only have a .RTE file. Is there some way to obtain a .PLN file for the tutorial?Many Thanks,Peter

HiIt seems that after successfully flying from A to B in autopilot if I disengage ( press Z twice ) before landing I find I have no control of the aircraft speed and although after landing I can stop it's not until I have overshot the runway and almost left the airfield.Reverse thrust still seems to work O.K.I don't know what I'm failing to do/doing wrong.Anyone help please?

Something rather strange has been happening with my MD11. When engaging the brakes, they wont stay on. Even when I have the AUX hydraulic pump on. They disengage right away. Anyone got a clue on this one? Thanx.-Rick

I love my MD-11 no problems with the a/c...but i lost my file and I sent an email a week ago. Is there somthing wrong????

Hello everyone!!Having just spotted some interesting photos on Airliners.net.Are they a kind of performance improvement from Boeing? or simply a DIY from EVA Air?Please note the protruding fairings under the wings.P.S. I'm not allowed to post the link to Airliners.net in this forum, but you could simply check it out on the website. B-16108, B-16109, B-16110, and B-16111 has them, I'm sure there are more that fitted with the new fairings.

This isn't really a support question, but i thought i'd post it in this forum since im flying the MD-11 and want to learn it from this aircrafts perspective. Hope its ok!I was looking at the ndac charts for madeira funchal airport because i was going to do a flight from Sevilla to Madeira. I was going to leave descend from SNT and use the Santos Star (this is from the north..) then do either the NDB or VOR circling approach to Rwy 23. When looking at the charts for the NDB approach it seems like you can enter from the south (approach Y) and north (Z). The Y seems pretty straight forward, you cross FUN and then do a procedure turn to the right and when crossing FUN again o…

Ugh, It was working until again, now. I loaded 4x and was working then I restarted Flight Sim to make sure, It went black screen again. I know now that I can't change the fuel if I'm on the airplane selector, and also It doesn't let me adjust fuel when I'm already on the Runway/Parking/Gates. (If it's blackscreens.) I have to re-run MSFSX everytime I want to use my PMDG MD-11 for the second time. The liveries for the MD-11 for FS9 that I download from the PMDG Site do not work. I run the exe file, and the Install Shield Wizard proceeds, but it never finishes and says "Installation Complete" or anything like that. I love the MD-11 but having no working liveries is a real bummer. Can anyone help?Been having the same problem with some of the 737's as well. Only Southwest Airlines liveries seem to work.Any help GREATLY appreciated. I am running FS9 on Windows Vista.Thanks!Omar Izquierdo

I was on a flight from Kai Tak to Dubai when I lost the IRU allign. I had to no choiuce but to stop my flight and save then I returned and in that process I lost the middle IRU allign. No doubt this was due to saving and restarting the flight. What I need to know is it possible to re-allign in flight? The other two IRU are working fign so I think I can complete the flight just wondering what I could do for the third IRU.ThanksAndrew DeLaney

I have had this happen on 4 of 5 attempts to fly. During an ILS approach (either DUAL LAND autoland or manual flying) the MD-11 is locking up FSX. When it locks up I then see the mouse pointer busy/working symbol on the center of the screen and the only way to proceed is to close FS via the task manager. Of course this is a legitimately purchased copy from the PMDG website.The lockup occurs during short final, usually under 1500ft AGL and a bit after I get the green box on the EAD. I am running FSX in Windows Vista 32bit, with 4GIG of memory and 4GHz CPU. Also have an NVIDIA GTX280 video card. It is very disturbing to fly for hours only to lock up on the most intere…
