PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

One other thing that seems to be happening...seems like it happens on the same flights that my flex issue is happening. On the FMC PROG page, on the bottom where it displays my alternate...it doesn't anything for ETA or EFOB, just DTG. At each waypoint, the missing info will suddenly re-appear, and promptly vanish again.Any ideas on that one?Thanks againRobert

I've been having a problem lately while using the FLEX temperature for my takeoff. This last flight, I entered all of the usual information - packs on, flaps 12, flex 40C, upslope 0.5 and a headwind of 3 knots....Using TOPCAT, I chose flex 40 which would give me an N1 setting of 103.1% for this takeoff. So here's what's happening....Before takeoff, I select NAV and PROF and arm the autothrottles with AUTOFLIGHT. I advance the throttles to 70% for a few moments and then advance to takeoff thrust. Everything is fine until 80 knots - TO CLAMP is displayed, but then the power to reduces to 93% N1 for the remainder of the takeoff. In the climb, when thrust changes to clim…

Hi, its me again. Ok I have tried over 20 times today to land the MD 11 on various flights with autopilot. I thought I was doing something wrong so just to be correct I also tried the tutorials and the same problem. The aircraft on approach does not reduce the speed I have to do it manually. Altthough it intercepts the loc and glideslope fine. I have to arm autoland again after the loc intercept It will not reduce height. But on landing unless I disengage autopilot It maintain landing speed of 180. I have to reduce the descent rate step by step and on minimums I disengage auto pilot and manually kill the throttles via my joystick. Any Ideas?Thanks again for your input, th…

Hello to everyone. I am what you call a 'newbie' to this forum but I have been using PMDG products in the past on older versions of FS. However, I have found with the new FSX and PMDG I have encountered my first issues. I Installed PMDG MD11 onto my FSX. To add, I have no other asddons on the system. In fact the PC that it is installed is only used for FSX. Ok it's not the end of the world but... I don't get to use FS much anymore, girlfriend was out tonight so had the rare chance to relax with a few beers and get a few hours in the MD11. What happened was the most chaotic sim experience I have had since I started simming.Flightplan was FAJS - HUEN on Vatsim. Greetings,I just made the jump from the FS9 MD-11 to the FSX version and I have a question regarding DBS Walk and Follow and the FSX MD-11. I've searched for 2 days and I havent found any other posts regarding this.In the VC mode while using Walk and Follow the eyepoint in the MD-11 is completely off, and the preset MD-11 views are as well. This dosent happen if Walk and Follow is disabled, but I'm so used to mouse panning and such I would rather not disable it if possible. I'm not that fond of the FSX mouse panning, I like the "Active Camera style" VC functionality that can be had with Walk and follow. This only affects the MD-11 and the problem isnt there on the 747-400…

PMDG MD-11 is a great plane to fly but unless I was flying over water FSX would run out of memory and CTD within about 90 minutes of departing. Very Frustrating! Updating the video card and deleting the FSX.CFG file and letting it rebuild did not fix anything. Lowering the sliders did not do anything but the following two steps did the trick. I can now fly LAX to RIO (over 10 hours) with no issues.Step #1 (Need to set the 3G switch) Open a command prompt with Administration rights. Ive been working on a new paintkit for a while as my old one was totally bombed . After two weeks of playing its finished and my first paint is for U.S Airways . I am running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium SP2, with FSX Accelerated. I own all the PMDG FSX Aircraft except for the 747-800i, which I just purchased and installed, I would fly that for about 20 minutes, and then CRASH back to desktop. I said to myself alright, lets nip this thing in the bud early, so I uninstalled ALL my PMDG aircraft with there respective un-installers, as well as all the liveries. I am having problems with the two tutorials.Advanced Tutorial: I have tried this twice and both times I get the same result. Hopefully someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. I take off from KORD and even though the displays confirm that I am in auto flight mode the aircraft stays on a 143 degree heading and will not follow the flight plan, the aircraft will not go to the first waypoint, Dufee, I am on a 143 degree heading and the plane will not change course. After flying mainly B7x7 a/c for many years there's lots of new stuff to learn with this a/c but I haven't had this much fun for a long time :(Just landed in Faro - Portugal after a flight from Arlanda - Sweden and wish I could t/o right away for a second leg but I really need to get some sleep now but tomorrow is a new day and I'm also looking forward to receive a MD-11 DVD early this week I ordered last week...this will be one great week I'm sure :(

I noticed this morning when I was manually flying into Atlanta airport that I got an 'Approach Only' annunciation in the altitude window. I engaged the Approach/Land button and was flying the FD down to minimums but when I attempted to land, the auto-throttles did not dis-engage at 30 to 50 feet and I had to manually switch them off. Did the 'Approach Only' annunciation have an effect on this situation? In the manual, it states: "After dual-land, single land or approach only is displayed on the FMA, the GCT controls are disabled to protect the autoland. hi folks.I know that on the first INIT page you can put the average windspeed and temp in the bottom left of the page. But is there a way to input wind speeds and temps for each waypoint on the flight plan page? I have looked in the guides but I can't seem to find anything.Thanks

Hi ChumsJust bought my self a new desktop pc with windows 7 and a big new lcd monitor to fly my favourite PMDG MD11 (FSX). But the view is not as good as my 2 year old laptop. The ground is dithering, I usually fly in 2d mode, and there is a band just above the glareshield that is flickering. I flew the generic MS 737 earlier and that was fine. I pressed all the anti bi-tri whatsit buttons but didn't seem to make any difference.Any advice, thanks.

Has anyone been able to successfully get the Captain Sim WX radar to appear in the MD-11 VC? And further, if its possible to do so, is it possible to meld it with the MFD just like it would be in real-life? I could have sworn I've seen screenshots of people who have managed to achieve this, just no paired instructions. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi,When using the Load Manager and selecting the amount of fuel you want to take with you the same value is not reflected when looking under the PMDG options menu inside FSX. I have tried both by saving the Load Manager data to file and also to send the data directly to FSX but with the same result in both cases. I've seen the same thing in the 747. Reading the manual I undestood that indeed you should be able to get the amount of fuel you want on board by using the Load Manager or did I overlook something...?
