Hi,In the 2nd (advanced) tutorial on page 15 I'm told to rotate the TCAS mode selector switch to RA/TA when still standing at the gate which puzzles me a bit since I always learned you should only do that after you are cleared to enter the runway at the same time you turn on your landing lights and the strobe lights after beeing cleared for take off. Is this a mistake in the tutorial or did I miss something or maybe the TCAS and the RA/TA mode works differently in such a highly automated a/c as the MD-11 is?

I was running the Advanced Tutorial yesterday and about 1hr into the flight FSX froze. I could still hear sounds but no keys would work - I had to do ctrl-alt-del and terminate FSX which was listed as not responding. This the first time I have had a problem with MD-11/FSX, having flown Tutorial 1 several times previously w/no issue. There was one change to FSX which I implemented prior to running the Advanced Tutorial: I installed Ultimate Terrain X - USA. Hello Everyone,I'm having trouble accessing the General Options/Panel State/Failures and etc. inside the PMDG Menu during a flight. Every time I click anything in the menu, the screen turns black. Hi people,I have a question. When u take off, it says in the manual that when u advance the throttles, you will hear the click sound (TO/GA button activates on the throttles). And u will hear the click once more after the throttles stabilized. When i advance the throttles, I DO NOT however hear any clicking sounds. Dear PMDG,While flying online today from LFKB to LFML i had planned to land on RWY13L at Marseille following the OB 5B Arrival.Then a controller came online and ordered RWY 31R for arrival Runway.I entered the FMC and changed the already choosen RWY13L into 31R and also confirmed the STAR again into the OB 5B.When pressing *Insert my FS9 froze.....just like that.....no OOM, no CTD, but just freezes.I went offline, closed FS9 and restarted it, choosing my autosave file from 4 minutes ago.i thought lets try again, maybe the freeze is cause by een scenery issue?I did exactly the same...flew above STP VOR at FL150 and changed the arrival Runway and choose the STAR and again m…

Certain cockpit sounds (switches,flaps,gear,alarms,callouts,atc...) just disappear at any time during the flightleaving only engine sounds.sometimes pressing 'Q' twice brings them back for a while, then after a while it happens again, and Iusually have to reload the plane to get the sound back. Hi!Just installed the MD11 on my computer with Win 7 x64, and I get a error message when I try to open the load manager.See enclosed error message, Sorry its in swedish but it says something like"Program could not be started beacause it's side-by-side configuration is wrong.Check historylog ur use command tool sxstrace.exe for more information."When I install the MD11 the load manager icon does not appear on the desktop either.Otherwise the aircraft works fine, it's just the LM that wont open.Thank you in advance.

Hello guys/girlsI recently purchased MD 11 for Fs2004. I am running windows vista 7/64 bit with 1680x945 resolution. My problem is that when the plane is initialized the gauges show up in VC with no problem. HOWEVER, in 2d cockpit, they are all blank. I am attaching a screen shots below. + i also cannot move the yoke. It is frozen in one place even when the plane is set for take off. I have a hunch that something is corrupted. Sometimes the gauges do finally show up in 2d cockpit but when u move the plane the 2d cockpit gauges are frozen and the vc cockpit gauges act normally. I have a powerful laptop. Hi everyone, I was wondering what would be the proper time to have the Center Main landing gear retracted when then mains were down?? I looked in the manual but i couldn't find anything (unless I missed it). Did find how to retract it or keep it retracted..but not when you would or not. I've got some really strange behaviors prior to and during the flight. When I'm in the virtual cockpit, the yoke movements are only in the roll axis and no movement in the forward or aft axis. Also, the spoiler only comes up on the port side of the aircraft. I can extend the ground spoilers on the ground and only the left one actuates. Same case with the speed brakes in the air. Also, the ailerons have no visible movement at all in either the left or the right one while in the spot view while moving the yoke to the right and left....My yoke is a CH USB and it has been calibrated in accordance with FS calibration techniques. Iam running trough the adv tut. On the weight init page i enter 56.4 for block fuel and the value 20 for tocg and zfwcg. so far ok. But then I want to enter the zfw of 430.0 the FMS responds with "entry out of range". What am I doing wrong.Regards, Peter Koning

Let me explain:I am using FS9 the aircraft above...installed the latest Cycle 1003 for "all PMDG" products from Navdata...When setting up at PANC on Runway 32 and using the "Turnagain Three Departure" which states that you "Climb heading 324 degrees to 600', then climbing RIGHT turn to 2000 via heading 170degrees. After crossing ANC VOR/DME R-060, climb to FL200 or assigned altitude via heading 200degrees. Expect radar vectors to assigned route. Hi guys.A week ago i have bought MD-11X for my FSX. So, it installed correctly, without any messages and I can fly on it. I want to setup "cold and dark" mode.I launch FSX, click on the addon menu, in menu list choose PMDG -> MD-11. I see a lot of submenus. I want to select menu "cold and dark", but can't find it. (Where is it?) After that, I decided to go old way - I choose cessna airplane, shut it off (engines, avionics, etc), save it, check "default". After that, load MD-11 and it must be in off state. I am missing external textures. Engines, landing gear and tailsection is missing on all MD11 models.I7 CPU 860@ 2.80 GHz, 8GB memory and Windows 7 64-bit. Gforce 9800 GX2 with the latest drivers. I have unchecked DX10 and bloom effect in FSX.Any ideas?? Christian

Hi, I am new to FSX and also to PMDG MD11 for FSX and I can not find the aircraft.cfg file in any folder within FSX at the main directory. I can not find either any aircraft folder within FSX folder at the main directory as well. Hey everyone I dont know if this been a topic or not... I try to research and couldn't find nothing helpful... So I'm hoping someone knows... I just downloaded MD 11, once it was all downloaded I wanted to take it for a quick run to test it out ... well when I set the flap to 15 only the inboard flaps goes down not the out board same with the slats.... the outboard on flaps and slats stay retracted... and when i raise spoilers only the left side comes up... Am I doing something wrong here... I'm hopoing someone can help me... thanks so muchGeoncarlos Colon
