PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi everybodyI've just started using TOPCAT (great piece of software if anyone's wondering), and I've noticed that if you load and fuel the MD-11 via TOPCAT before you start FS9, the MD-11 will be loaded as you set it, however to start with a cold and dark plane I load the saved panel state, and the fuel load goes back to 6%. Adjusting fuel load is easy enough via the PMDG menu, but is the payload weight adjusted when loading the cold and dark panel state?Or would I be better off starting FS9, loading the MD-11 into the sim, loading the cold and dark state and using TOPCAT to load the MD-11 via FSUIPC?Cheers, Chris Dalgarno

I have just spent at least 20 minutes looking through all the manuals and if the answer is in there I can not find it.When you are in autoland mode and on the PFD you have your loc and g/s symbols displayed and then instead of going from white to green and getting a dual land display you get a white approach only displayed, why do you get an approach only, why do you not get a dual land and the plane go ahead and do a full autoland. This is happening on runways where I have arleady had sucessful auto landings.If any one can point me to the manual and page in that manual that explains a white approach only message while in autoland mode I would appreciate it.Regards,Rod

I have tried an ILS autoland at KHOU three times on runway 12R. My flight plan says to be at 2000' at Jabbs and I am. I then toggle appr/land and get autoland displayed on the PFD above AP1, but I never get LOC displayed and I never get G/S displayed. I have done this on the first tutorial so I know that it works. Attached are three screen shots. When I get real close to KHOU I get told that there is no loc. The odd thing is when I get past KHOU and do a 180 turn for a manual landing on runway 30L I get a message stating that the loc and G/S have been picked up (third screen shot). On the third try I manually set my Nav VOR1, VOR2 and ILS to 111.3 and that made no …

I reinstalled my MD-11 and did the update, and I get green x'es not red but absolutly no displays on the FMC or anything the aircraft has worked flawlessly in the past in FS9 running windows 7, but now it won't displat any informarion on the screens and yes it is a totally leagle copy I bought and paid for. i have a problem with the md-11 crash mid-flight i received fsx fatal error message and flight sim restarts itself, ive tried many different things including re-installing the md-11, installing directx, updating microsoft flight sim to the latest version, and removing the mission panels file, yet nothing seems to work it happens randomly i sometimes manage to fly for an hour and sometimes for 15 minutes but its always when the plane is in the air any help is appreciated and im running this on windows vista

Hello all,I recently reinstalled Vista 64 due to virus. The system is working fine but my Md11 is showing blank screens with the control yoke locked to the left. The last time i had this issue i installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 x86 and it fixed everything perfectly. However this time, when i do that the md11 crashes the sim at the aircraft selection screen. Can any one shed some light on this and confirm the names of the C++ files that works for the MD11? Do i need any of the C++ Service packs?Ive search the other posts on this issue and also done countless number of installs and reinstallls.Gideon Ward

:( Hi Experts and the rest:Just downloaded from PMDG the MD-11. I got the MSFSX, in a W7 64 bites.When the FS starts and request type of plane, I hit the MD-11 PMDG. The aircraft flight deck appears to the screen, are not the PMDG md-11 one. I could not move any switch, altimeter setting, etc. What I did wrong every time?. Could be possible that I maded any mistake during install proccess ?. The MD-11 Introduction Manual gives a good description of how to save a flight. I have read every post about saving flights but I'm still having problems. I'm working through the Advanced Tutorial and would like to save at for example< ready to push-back and just prior to decent. I save the flight in FSX but when it loads the MCDU data is missing. If I also try to save the panel state under: SAVE/NEW is receive the message: cannot create file.I saw one post that indicated that folders admin permissions would be worth exploring so I've done that with out success.One other small item. I keep getting the message: cdu2 menu request.All help is appreciated.Bill Buxton

Well, I LOVE this aircraft. It's the first in-depth aircraft I've purchased for FSX, and I have no regrets. Absolutely fantastic!While I've had versions of flight simulator my whole life, I've really never put serious time into learning any one aircraft. I have evaluated Captain Sim products, Level D product, and have not seen with my own eyes tcategorically the best category 3 autoland in none other than the MD-11. The aircraft is a dream to fly, with nearly every overhead system automated if that is the PIC's choice and so reminiscent of an A300-600 overhead from layout to the sound of the buttons really quite similar. This aircraft did not take long to get up to speed using relevant sections from the tutorial and FCOM to formulate a set of normal procedures to take the aircraft from LAs Vegas to Los Angeles safely and fully automated.I am well pleased with this bird even though I expected not to like it becuase I am …

I see the illumination effect of the landing lights in mid air completely displaced from where they should be. The light given out by the bulbs does not come out of the bulb but comes out to the right of the bulb and the aircraft seems to have a landing light flying in formation with it :/Raphs

I create a f-plan using fsbuild, and it includes both sid & star. (FSX acceleration).I check the whole plan and everything is in place for an autoland. (eg. EGLL).My question is do I have to reinput the star before the landing phase to get it to be active, or is it already active from when I entered it at the gate of my origin airport?I ask because I have encountered a few trips where I could not get the autoland to work. I could not intercept the localizer nor could I get the Glideslope to come alive. It seems to me that everything is in order. I do not know what I am doing wrong here, and would appreciate some advice or hints.Thanks

Are there any plans to continue development on the MD-11?

I went from windows visrta to win 7 32 bit. I own the B747, the 737 and the MD11 for fs9. All of the other PMDG products install with no problem except the MD11. It says I do not have a copy of FS9 installed according to the registry! Any ideas?Moe Works

I'm becoming very frustrated now after about 4 weeks of owning this aircraft, that i cannot get it to climb to the designated flight level. No matter how i program the FMC, what happens is as the aircraft is climbing, the CLB LIM gets lower and lower, and eventually, it just stops climbing. Hi,I have just purchased directly from PMDG the MD-11 and FS2Crew, I forgot that I had an account with them in the past and simply purchased it as a guest user.Now when I go to install it askes for the email address, order no. and Password. I had no password associated with this purchase and the password I have associated with the email address and the account in the past does not work.Does anyone know what I am supposed to do?Thanks

Ok, I've been on a 4 leg trip onboard a MD11F last week, 3 of these flight were at night and I noticed that when the landing lights were switched on the light cones panned from the left/right to the center. Looks really great. Back home I tested that on the PMDG MD11, but when switching on the landing light they are immediately in the center position, so no panning at all. I first thought it is just not possible due to FS9s limitations, but then I tested the IFDG MD11 1.5 and this model is able to do that. Since the landing lights are not added to the lights section of the aircraft.cfg I assume it is part of the model.Is there a chance you could add that in a future updat…

Hi all,I want to be sure I understand the use of the ground spoilers on the MD-11. When flying other jets, rather it be the 737, 747, or the 767, when I arm the ground spoilers, they automatically deployed after touchdown. But on the MD-11 that doesn't occur, and I do arm the spoilers on the final approach. Another thing I noticed is that the deceleration seems to be very slow and the plane uses up all of the runway just to stop. So my question is that on the real MD-11, do pilots have to move the lever to the ground spoiler position to deploy them immediately after touchdown or do the ground spoilers automatically deploy after touchdown as with other jets? if im on A/P with FMC speed & PROF active & im descending on a STAR with waypoint altitudes set & i set the FCP ALT window to 0000 will my md11 descend correctly following the FMC?

Basically I just re-installed FSX and thereafter the MD11. When moving my joistick laterally the flight controls do not animate. The aircraft is fully powered up so hydraulic pressure is surely there. The only flight control that animates is the first spoiler on the right wing. Likewise when extending the ground spoilers on the ground the only spoiler that works is the one mentioned previously.I am running FSX on windows Vista 32bitAny suggestion?? :(

After i have installed the MD11 every time i start a flight FSX crashed with an fatal error. I have delete the old dll.xml and re-installed the MD11...so far that problem is solved. But now i crash to desktop during cruise.What can i do?kind regardsDavid Danler

Im trying to decide if I should get this beautiful looking aircraft. Hopefully someone can answer some questions. First, what is the range of this aircraft? Secondly, I've flowen captian sims757, and level ds 767, im wondering how much different is this aircraft, is it much harder to learn to fly? Thanks Joe Naps

It seems the JS41 has a full 5xx page manuel and the others just have a couple of guides am I missing somthing? Or did they not make manuels for the others just short little guides?
