PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I purchased and downloaded the PMDG MD-11, and it actually worked fine for a flight. I think I've narrowed it down to when I installed a repaint, the world airlines one. FSX will not start anymore. The 'default flight' menu appears for a second, and then FSX crashes. I can't use anything anymore, and I've tried repairing the installation, uninstalling and reinstalling and every combination thereof.Has anyone else had this problem? I've never had a compatibility error with anything. This is wierd. I'm desperate now because I have two and a half years worth of work into FSX and now it's not working.

I tried hardly to solve this Problem by myself reinstalled my pmdg md11 and also my fsx. I also cleaned my registry and uninstalled any other addonsif i chose my airplane on the fsx menu the Plane shows the front gear down. That never happened before. So i also reinstalled all Liverys tat are includet on the pmdg Cd.If i spawn then on any airport offline or online it shows me the Virtual Cockpit view like the second pictureas you can see it just happens on the passengerjets and not to the freightersif i use a passenger and click on the menu list/Addons/Pmdg/*Options it looks like this:Full Menu on Freighters:if i try from the outside view the spoilers the animation dont h…

Hi all,Im building a MD11 simulator at home. Just brought the Open cockpits A320 Radio plug in play unit. Its a great unit. The VHF1/2/3 work great! But....the units prevents the PMDG MD11 FMC from tuning all NAV aids, VOR, ADF and ILS. and The unit wont tune the MD11 aids either. Hi, I have recently been trying to get on top of creating simple IFR flights using the autopilot 100% like in the first tutorial. I have been attempting also to try and understand SID and STAR charts and selections from the FMC, some successful some not. What is confusing me mainly is that to make a flight plan successful I am having to delete route points to enable the route to connect up, is this correct? in the basic tutorial this does not occur, I am guessing as they had already edited the route knowing which SIDS and STARS they were going to use?I will use an example to try and explain what my problems are. I am using a mix of Simroutes, Navgraph and FS Commander …

I've done some searching around but haven't found an answer anywhere yet. Is it possible to include the wind aloft data in the saved flight plans (in the PMDG aircraft itself and from outside sources such as FSBuild)?Reason I'm asking is because all of that data gets sent digitally from dispatch over ACARS to the aircraft in the real world (at least in most Boeing aircraft). Would be nice if that was possible but the pessimist in me is betting it isn't.

Okay i just baught the pmdg md-11 for fs9 and now when i run the setup it says i need fs9.1 and that i have 9.0 but when i went to fs9 it said that i had version update 9.1, this is utterly ridiculous that i just spent 80$ and it doesnt run the setup, can someone please help me please!!!, this was a gift for me that i bought to enjoy for myself, please somebody help me.

Hello all, as of late I seem to have MD-11 fever, while trip tracing the globe I happened to be looking at the heating and air condition page and I notice while I cruised at FL330, the temp in the lower holds was pushing 35F. My questions is whether the temperature is kept at a specific number according to what is in the hold at the time or whether its Airline specific ergo Fedex does it differently then World or UPS.Thanks, T. Here is my configuration Intel Pentium 2.53gz I GB ram, 1GB graphics Card. I'm running MSFS X fine now but will this jet require more memory than I have? We have had threads on the need to assign admin rights so that flight saves and panel saves can be done with the MD 11. My boxed version will save flights but not panels, nor can I figure out how to handle the admin rights. Can someone pls walk us through this critical step so that we can start saving flights and panels? Many, many thanks.Flybyte

Hello everyone, a ways back I decided to set up several flights all on approach, at different airports to just load the saved flight and practice the approach and landing. Now the thing was that it would crash the sim about 3 minutes into the flight. I contacted PMDG and I believe there answer was the the avionics and aircraft was to complex to handle that situation, but keep in mind saved flights that were on the ground had no issue, just ones that were already airborne. I am posting this to see if anyone else has this problem, or if a solution became avaliable. If anyone can sucesfully save a flight on approach say 10nm final on an ILS and not cause FSX to crash please …

I know---I raised this question before and got some good suggestions but they didn't solve the problem. I wanted to save a flight that I had at the gate with aircraft in short turn configuration. Did the standard FSX Save Flight but when I re-loaded that flight the plane was spooled up and ready to go. One suggestion was that I needed to save the panel state. I opened "Save" in the PMDG PANEL STATE and typed in a file name. It then requested a description to go with the file. I did that and hit the Create button and got the message "Cannot Create File". Tried some other combinations of filenames and descriptions but nothing worked. What am I doing wrong?Thanks,Eric

What is the best way to change runways on the fly. Before I depart I always enter my STAR and arrival RW but now and then I have to change to accommodate ATC. I always seem to mess things up, either I will delete the STAR that Im already on or I will double insert the STAR and have to spend time cleaning things up. All I want to do is keep the STAR and switch the runways. But in the fms you always have to insert the star again if you just select a new RW and hit insert the STAR that Im already established on gets erased, if I select the STAR that Im on and a new RW it will enter it but some of the waypoints that I have already passed will be entered again along with some …

Hello everyone!First - thank you all from precisionmanuals for realy great planes (happy owner of MD11 and 747)!Have only one annoying problem with MD11 - the light coming from landing lights and taxi light are not seen on ground (like those were off). Only 2 lightspots far away from aircraft. When I take a look from outside - all of them (bulbs) are clearly on! Interesting that runway turnoff lights have no problem. Those can be seen clearly. All other addon and stock FSX planes dont have this. Ive Just Installed Airport Facilitator X and have a problem loading the MD-11. Everytime I choose the MD-11, FSX freezes and says fatal error. Just bought the MD11 and try to get "rated" on this great aircraft (phantastic job PMDG :( )So my first Question:When I load the aircraft in FSX and load the cold+dark panel state and then switch to an outside view the first door on the left side is open.Is this correct?ThxOtto

Hi all,I've been working on a DX9 glass display for the PMDG MD-11. It connects via simconnect so it can be run from another computer using separate displays. I cannot access any FMS data so the amount of data I can show is limited. All lines, arc's, fonts are generated using tiny triangle-strips to keep the edges sharp and the rendering time minimal. It runs very smoothly on an ATI 5770, about 2.2ms to do all three displays. All flight data is interpolated to give the appearance of real-time operation.cheersJohn Headlam

Well just a coulpe days ago i bought my new asus laptop computer. I just reinstalled fsx as a program. I now need to tarnsfer my md - 11 and i was wondering if its possible to uninstall the plane on one computer and reinstall it on my new computer. Thanks for all of your answers.Regards,Benny Kron
