PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Good Evening, i've a problem with taxi and landing lights of PMDG MD-11 (my version is original). When i try to activate the taxi or the landing lights they don't work. They appear far from the aircraft and they don't light the runway.I try to reistall PMDG MD-11, chainging textures in REX but without success. Hi all,I have a question about an issue that might or might not have to do with the PMDG MD-11.I'm flying at FL300 (TAT -3C) and using UT2 (Ultimate Traffic 2). I just recently installed UT2 and there I fiddled with the contrail settings for AI aircraft (set to 30 seconds of length) which show up very nicely. However, now my MD-11 isn't producing any contrails anymore. Have any of you had this issue and if so, did you find any solution?Any help would be greatly appreciated! ps. Sorry if this is the completely wrong place to ask this question.

Hi all,I had to dodge a 737 that was about to ram me from the left side, I followed the instructions of the TCAS and descended 2000 feet. Now my flight status has changed to Policy Des and PROF will not reactivate (after returning to my cruising altitude of FL350). Any idea how I can get the FMS to go back to the Econ Cruise profile?EDIT: Solved my problem, re-entered cruise altitude on INIT page.

HiI've been using this AC for quite a while now and must say it is fantastic.On final approach i usually disconnect the AP and hand fly down to the runway. I disconnect the AP by pressing the button on the yoke, this should not disconnect the ATS.Occasionally the ATS allows the airspeed to drop dangerously below the FMC speed used in the flight plan on final approach, ATS then increases the throttle to prevent a stall and speeds up past 200 knots say, preventing me from landing.Does anyone know why it does this?Appreciate any helpRegardsPeter Simmons

I have noticed several times that loading some of the addon PMDG textures causes CTD's for me. It results in deleting the MD-11 and reloading it again.repair function fails to resolve the issue. :(

Hi, i have 2, quite unrelated questions, but i thought i'd ask them in the same topic to save space.1. Which aircrafts are the MD11's modelled on? In the FMC i can see that the MTOW for both the passenger and freight versions are 285.98. On wikipedia this is the MTOW for the ER-versions of the aircrafts. Is this the one the pmdg md11 was modelled after or is wikipedia incorrect?Also the max landing weight for the MD11 (pax) in the FMC is 207.x while on wikipedia it is 200, the MD11C however has an almost identical max landing weight of 208. I've been looking at RTO's in the MD11 - after an RTO at MTOW (V1 167, rejecting about 160) with T.O. autobrakes and no reverse, why do the brake temperatures rise for several minutes after stopping?Immediately after the aircraft has stopped, temps are about 23C, then 2 minutes later have risen to about 100C. They then continue to rise, but at a slower rate, reaching 200C at about 2 minutes 45 seconds. They peak out at about 340C at around 11 minutes after coming to a halt, then cool very slowly.Why wouldn't the brakes be at their hottest immediately after stopping? How can energy be being 'made' when the aircraft is stationary?I guess it's something to do with where the …

So I think I'm understanding the MCDU enough to fiddle around with taking off from airports other than the tutorial, my only problem is, the plane doesn't begin to lift off until its off the runway, what am I doing wrong? My last takeoff speed was at 197, even though the highest V speed was 172, what's the deal?

I installed MD-11 two days ago...great product but a persistent problem. When I want to load "cold and dark" from PMDG while FS9 is running, the screen goes dark. Also the screen went dark on final approach to Zurich in tutorial 1. Not sure if it's a problem with Win 7 or FS9 or a combo of the two. I'm running an Intel i7 3.02 Ghz with an ATI Radeon 5850 and its latest drivers. Would really appreciate the help and any suggestions. Thanks!Jerry Preston

Hi all,I don't know if this problem is with the PMDG MD-11, my new Samsung LCD monitor, or with my video card. Here's the problem I'm having:First of all, I create a flight and select the PMDG MD-11. I create the flight departing from Birmingham Airport or KBHM on runway 24. I'm not flying to another airport. I depart on runway 24, fly out about 5 miles, and then fly downwind for a practice landing using ILS runway 24. When I perform this flight, I use the FMS. So when I enter the departure and arrival airport, I enter KBHM/KBHM into the FMS. This tunes the ILS for runway 24 and also tells me what my Vref and approach speed should be. Hello, I have not flown the MD11 in a while and for some reason the plane is no longer showing up in my library. All the files seem in order, sim objects, etc. The load manager is still there an working but it just isn't showing up in the library when I go to select a plane. Any thoughts? I was wondering if anyone could help me out.Keep in mind that this only happens with the md-11...not with the 747 or anything else.The engines randomly turn off on approach. I don't change anything they just all turn off. I am then able to restart them and continue the flight.Also whenever I program a star into the airplane it stops following the path and deviates about 30 degrees to the side. Keep in mind that I generally do this about 2 to 2.5 hours from touchdown. I therefore have to go with a heading and then arm the nav. Any help? or ideas?

Hi I have a question regarding inserting STAR and transitions.I performed flight to LFPG (Paris).Approach rwy was 8L with STAR RLP5E and RNAV transition BALOD.Now the question.After inserting (with latest AIRAC) I had this in flight pln:TRO GAKLO OMAKO BALOD SUBOX MANUAL CI08L OM08L RW08L RW08L/10.The unknown fix is MANUAL. Been flying the MD11 a lot these past few days and with Fs2crew im having a blast.I'm quite okay at the landings and the hard ones occurs less frequently, but my ego would like to have it on paper :( Is there an addon (preferably free) that measures V/S on touchdown? I've heard of people referring to their V/S on landing so there must be a tool for this, or are they guessing? Oh, and it needs to be compatible with FSXAlso after looking at videos of night landings (mostly for the 747 though), the landing light doesnt nearly light up the ground so well as the planes in fsx. I know that your read this forum and work for PMDG. In fact you answered a ticket I submitted several weeks ago. I have a ticket no. 0EA-13D27569-76C8 which concerns PMDG addon liveries. It was submitted probably two weeks ago. I received an email from Paul Gollnick requesting some additional info which I provided on July 17, 2010. I sent an email several days ago concerning the status of this ticket. No reply. Yesterday I checked the support site and found out the ticket has been closed. Hello,Well, after flying the MD11 for about 2 months I have a very annoying problem and one that is probably very simple and my error. I've looked all over the manuals and I know I'm missing a very simple step.I've attached a picture from the advanced tutorial In my display, there is no number between HDG_MAG. In the Manuel and tutorials I have looked at, there is a number (HDG). It does make it a little difficult when hand flying to follow the exact heading.If a screen shot is needed, I'll try to figure that out and post.I do appreciate the advice.Chris K.*****I apologize about the size of the picture; I had trouble getting it smaller.

I purchased the MD 11 package several days ago. When I went to install and got to the validation screen...inputted email, order ID and password - failed. Then tried to log onto PDMG - failed.I send a request to PDMG via the email address they give you in the receipt and no response.Then I send them a ticket on the issue...no response.So now I'm wondering if PDMG got my $84.00 for nothing? Is the support email they give you not monitored? How about the ticket system.How do you apply for a refund if the software won't install? Do you just contest the charges via your credit card co?Any insight is appreciated!

Does anyone have any info on this?All My net framework blocks are checked in turn windows features on and off section. I tried a flight in the MD11 from KSFO to KSEA, using Dan Downs scenery for those airports. I an getting frustrated with this!
