PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi all,I have inadvertently completely deleted my MD-11F aircraft.cfg file. My original purchase/download link has long since expired, my zipped DVD copy is corrupt, plus my Windows Home Server back-up is not accessible arghhh - always in threes!Can someone tell me if the MD-11 passenger aircraft.cfg file is the same; could I use this with my MD-11F? I understand that I would need to rebuild my [fltsim.X] sections and also run the load manager.If they are not alike is it possible for someone to post a copy of theirs for me? I am quite familiar with the cfg file so understand changes required for my particular configuration.Regards,Rod Kay

Hello, I was just wondering if there are any general numbers that real MD-11 pilots enter into the FMC for headwinds or tailwinds. I use activesky to get an average wind, but what do real MD-11 pilots use or is there just a general number for say a strong headwind or tailwind?Thanks, David Schleck (KMKE)

In the tutorial, I get to the page where I need to confirm V speeds and when I click on LSK4R, 5R, and 6R, nothing happens. It still says I need to confirm the V speeds.How do I get past this?Bruce K

Hi - From what I can tell the actual variant modeled in PMDG is the basic MD-11 with the heavy takeoff option, presumably the PIP program. The question I have is, is it possible to emulate the MD-11ER that had the additional 3,000 gal fuel tank by adjusting the fuel tank sizes in the Aircraft.cfg files and then just not using all of the forward cargo to compensate? Or is their logic elsewhere in the program that will cause this to fail (like not actually being able to refuel those large tanks because the FMS uses separate logic)?ThanksAndrew

Hi - Second question of the night! :-)I like the Royal Saudi livery very much but I also like using the TOPCAT tool for takeoff performance. TOPCAT only has the GE engine option. Is there a way to change the engine on the Royal Saudi Livery? I'm not worried if there are visual model differences between PW and GE, rather I just want the flight dynamics of the GE engine.Sound Possible?Andrew

after takeoff, the FMS tries to fly with a pretty low speed (and a high climb rate) ... now, if I want to change this speed... how can I do that? or is this even impossible? ... can I change the other speeds as well? so, e.g. the speed for 28° flaps and so on? ... sometimes, in very bad weather conditions, I'd like to fly a bit faster than normally, so that I'm not running into low speed conditions that oftenI didn't find it in the FMS manual... but... maybe I only overlooked it...

PMDG,While I just finished my first flight in the MD-11, being used to the 747, i disengaged the autopilot, and turned off the runway. Then i heard an annoying voice saying "Autopilot" over and over again, how do i stop this????? Thanks,Spencer Hayes

Hi Guys,I have a little problem that has been annoying me. I have recently upgraded my system and have Windows 7 now. However being an Aussie, i use Kilograms for all my weight in the PMDG md-11 and 747.I can change the little drop box in the load manager to Kg, save and close, but when i go to the plane in Fsx it is still in Lbs. Also if i save and close in Kg's, and then straight away open the manager again, it has gone back to Lbs. If i go to the PMDG menu in FSX and change the units of measure to KGs, it shows in the aircraft as Kg's, but when i then try to load the fuel via the PMDG menu in FSX, It only lets me set it in Lbs.I can only assume the Fuel manager in fsx …

Hello MD-11 friends. I found an Austrian Airlines MD-11 Repaint in the www. But I think it's for the FS2004. I use the MD-11 for FSX. So, the wings are black and with the 3D Panel something goes wrong. I would be glad If anybody could helb me or have an idea about an Austrian repaint. Thanks in Advance. Jan

I have a serious problem with my PMDG MD11. I have had it for several months and had no problems, but now, I can not uninstall it, by that I mean that I have uninstalled it, but the liveries still show up in my Aircraft folder in FS9, as well as the actually aircraft select menu in the actual game. This is a problem, because it says that I have fully uninstalled it, should I uninstall FS9? Is their something else that does not cause that me to go to the length, or is that what I have to do? Assistance in the this matter would greatly be appreciated

Hi everybody,I realized a problem on my MD-11 panel today, when i'm on ground my altimeter shows 3000 feet... also when i press shift+z, it shows 3000 feet too... any idea ?

I am about study the tutorial London-Zurich using the MD-11At one point I am asked to open the Overhead panel but I cannot find the button or whatever to do it .I need it in the F-10 mode.Can anybody tell me.ThanksRobi 77PS: No problem with the B-747.

Hi guys,I don´t know how to explain the problem, but the picture might say it allAnother disturbing picture, notice the altitude on the PFD and the one on top of the screenI have no idea why it happens and I always experience this issue over Russia and China. I am flying on Vatsim, with ASE and on normal time.Disconnecting the autopilot is the only way I can reduce the thrust.Hope you can help me.Best regardsPeter Lund

Unless I completely misunderstood the tutorial I read, you are supposed to pull back the stab trim before you start flying, and whenever I do pull it back it snaps back into place am I doing it wrong? If not, how do I tell where the stab is being set?Patrick Boynton

I've had the pmdg md-11 for some time now and it has been working flawlessly. Recently I downgraded my operating system from Windows Vita to Windows Xp but it is the 64 bit version. I installed the md-11 back on the sim and now I get all the screens in blank. Is there any solution for this? Thank You

Hi!Since yesterday I'm having problems with the md-11 cabin pressure. As soon as I put the throttle to max every bleed air goes off, as soon as that happens I see the pressure put to 15000-20000 ft.Did anyone have this kind of problem before?Thanks,Sincerely, Thomas Achillep.s I don't start from cold and dark, but with the mode After Engine start( something like that ).

Hi guys,Need some support.I've been flying the MD11 for over a year now on the same hardware. Nothing has changed except for recently installing FSCopilot/FSInn. I had a few flights after that as well; all successfully. However, recently (since Saturday) when I advance the throttles for taxi or takeoff the thrust closes uncommanded. I've been using registered FSUIPC to manage the control input and as mentioned nothing has changed. Can you please advise the reason and steps to fix this issue?Many thanks.Sumit S.

I have been having strange problems lately where in Virtual cockpit view the frame rates are not more than 9FPS and the same with the PMDG 737, and it is not my system as my other add ons get 30 FPS in VC view so this makes me think it might be livery's or something is using a lot of resources, but I don't know what it could be and this has only been happeming with my PMDG aircraft lately and I even did a clean install of FS9 and it still happens. i could use some ideas here. I am running Windows 7 64 bit with a duel cor processor and all other add ons don't experience this issue, so what could it be?Michael Pare

I love picking random spots in the world to fly to on flight sim even if they are not real world flight plans. My problem is I am trying to do EIDW/HLLT, and i keep getting a not allowed error. Why do I keep getting this error?Patrick Boynton

Hi guys,I seem to be having a problem with the hydraulics on my MD-11. Only the left-hand spoilers work at all stages of flight, which I find very odd. What's even more weird is that recently my 747-400 has been playing up whereby neither the ailerons, flaps or spoilers are being animated, but they still have an effect on the aircraft. Do you think these problems might be linked? Is it just a matter of another re-install?Kind regards,

Hello,I wonder if someone here could help me with a rather persistent problem.When operating the MD11 in manual mode I get an "AIR SYS TEST FAIL" when doing the annunciator and air system test. I cannot figure out if this is normal for the manual mode or if I'm doing something wrong. Obviously it doesn't happen in automatic mode.

Every time I switch the views before start up, I hear this weird sound, like air being blown out of a tube. Any ideas why this is?

Hi all,I was doing a flight from Sciphol Amsterdam to Palma De Mellorca in FS9? This is the flight taken from the ITTV video. When I take-off in the MD-11, the climb rate is way too high and I'm getting an excessive climb rate of 4,000 to 5,000 fpm at about 170 knots. Before doing this flight, I set all weather parameters in FS9 and loaded the MD-11 according to all information from the MD-11 ITTV video. When I rotate at Vr, I raise the nose for a climb of V2 and follow the flight director bar. Remember, the flight director bar follows the V2+10 speed so that will give us a speed of 163 knots. From the video, the FMS calculated a V2 speed of 153 knots, 153 + 10 = 163 knot…
