I always wondered why my MD-11 needs heavy manual braking even with the autobrakes selector set to high. It took a long time until my brain considered the possibility that the autobrakes fail completely because of some reason currently unknown to me.I started to search through this forum and found some postings about autobrake issues. Hello,This is not exactly a support request. I'm a huge fan of the MD11, but I'm missing a way to practice procedures (mainly handfly STARs) and I was thinking of writing a kind of mission generator. The user would select let's say an approach, weather, etc and the tool would generate a mission for that procedure. For that you need to generate a .flt flight file and that is pretty well documented. But you also need to generate panel state files for the MD11. This is where it comes to the documentation of these files. Do you need all of them (*.flt.0.rte, *.flt.0.slv.rte, *.flt.1.rte, *.flt.0.sav) or a subset is enough to get a pretty good initialization of the plane in m…

So today I finally let PMDG win over my wallet, and bought the MD-11. I am not new to PMDG aircraft, but getting the hang of the MD-11 is quite different than the other aircraft. As I'm going through things trying to get the aircraft setup, I am unable to get the V-Speeds to calculate and am left with just dashes in those spaces. I have input the flaps level and have filled in all the information that I have come across. The only two things I was unsure what I needed to fill them in were the Block and TOGW numbers on the Weight Init page. Any help would be appreciated in regards to what I need to do to get the V-Speeds to automatically calculate.EDIT: Nevermind just…

I have been having a lot of trouble with system instability lately so re-installed FSX and all add ons last weekend. I am now getting this error message on start-up. When I have ezdok installed, first off, I loose the use of the MD11 2D cockpit, plus I also get various screen problems when using the the VC.Is anyone using these these two together successfully, including the 2D panel?Thanks

Hello there.After flying your georgous MD-11 yesterday from Penang to Singapore, there was one question in my mind:Wouldn´t it be possible to re-create the MD-10? I mean, the Cockpit (as far as i could see on images) would only require moderate modifications, as the Aircraft would. And inspite of only knowing one real world operator (FedEx), it my be possible to do it similar to the MD-11 and add some fake Airlines, who really operated the DC-10. With the MD-11 No. 2 Engine a fictious MD-10-40 could be possible, the others would require mods to the intake. The Fuselage would need to be shortened, the vertical stabilizer modified as the tail.It would be nice if it was poss…

I have had the MD11 for FS9, download version, for some time now.As I also have FSX on my PC I decided to get the FSX version of the MD11 to see how it performs; this has been said to be a good indicator of the upcoming NGX performance. Well it performs smoothly enough, even at complex add-on airports so I'm looking forward to the NGX.The FSX version I got was the Aerosoft CD version as Amazon were selling it cheaper in the UK than the cost of the direct download (sorry Robert, Ryan et al!). Hi I like to know if anyone evere have this issue.My problem is that I departed from MTPP airport after the controller clear me for takeoff.after 1 1/2 hrs I tried to comunicate with the destination airport and the only think I get is NO MESSAGE TO TRANSMIT TO ANYONE.Is that way in any airport. Hey Guys!I'm new to the forum but i have a couple of questions for all you MD-11 fanatics. I fly this aircraft on the sim quite frequently and i'm familiar with most of the systems and FMC inputs. However, i need some assistance as far as crossing the pacific. I usually fly from MEM-NRT(dont care if its not a real route) but i have trouble finding waypoints(dontk now tech term) on pacific ocean. I know there are some waypoints that you can input into the FMC, i just dont know where to find them. Can anyone help me find some resources to find these waypoints, i dont think simroutes.com has any. Thanks a bunch! -Robert Santos

For a long time I have noticed the MD-11F shows FMS target speeds of around 192, 245, and 270 on the speed tape on the PFD and 280 at 10000 ASL on the magenta track line on the ND when using SIDS. I thought speed was restricted to 250 below 10000 ASL. When the target speed moves from 192 to 245 I dial in 250 in the speed window and right click the speed button. At 10000 I press the FMS SPD button to resume normal acceleration. Why is the MD-11F trying to reach 270 below 10000 and am I using the correct procedure to keep it at 250.Thank youMichael Cubine

I didn't encounter this before, but I admit that I don't use flex thrust that often: After takeoff yesterday with a slightly derated flex TO thrust, I pulled the altitude knob as usual above 1500 ft, but there was no transition to CLB thrust limit. Unable to get CLB limit anyhow, I finally disconnected A/T. Did I miss something?

I have had this several times now, and am at my whit's end as to troubleshooting the problem.I start up in the default Cessna at the airport of my choice for the day and enter the data into the FMS. Route, weather info, and so on...Now, on approach, I disconnect the AP, when I do it seems to have little effect... I lose an axis, be it the elevator (today for example) or ailerons (yesterday for example). Whatever I do, I cannot regain the axis, and the landing will only work if I go around and get onto autopilot as quickly as possible and come in for an autoland.May I add that it does not happen all the time, but often, particularly on a point to point flight.
