PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I have noticed on the TAKEOFF page (TO/APPR key) that the packs are listed as off. Does this mean they are currently off, will automatically be turned off during takeoff, or that they need to be turned off now for takeoff? TOPCAT indicates a difference of a couple of hundred feet in takeoff roll at at about max TOGW depending upon whether the packs are on or off.Thank youMichael Cubine

How do I load the fedex ramp's with fedex plane's at it's super hub kmem, each time I place the PMDG fedex 747 at one of the many ramp's and I look around mine is the only plane there, Ive tryed changeing times of day only to have the same problem only one plane there mine, I also downloaded the KMEM maga scenery to enhance the airport, What am I not doing ???Alvin BNewark N.J

I noticed that when I switch to wing view and I have zoom at 0.4 the wing looks way too long.If I have the zoom at 1.0 it looks much too short. Any of you know what would be the best and most realistic zoom setting for the md11 ???Thanks in advance,Vic

Hey guys, for some odd reason my MD-11 lost its panel sounds and possibly more. For example, I am not hearing the flap lever moving, spoilers arming, AutoFlight Button engaging autothrust, it sounds like alot of other sounds have stopped playing but If go outside, I hear the engines, reverse, ai planes, ATC. I already completely removed the MD-11 and re-installed it to the latest update, and the issue still exists. I don't really know what to do, as I have never heard or seen this happen to anyone. Hello.On the overhead, in the air conditioning panel section of the MD-11's passenger version there is a setting device for "pax load". It isn't mentioned in any of the manuals and I'm interested how the selected number (ranging from 150 to 590) affects the aircraft's air conditioning system?Best regards,Dymitr

Is there some formula for calculating the head or tailwind component of wind if it's direction and velocity are know? On the TOPCAT Take-off page there is an indication of what the HD wind would be on a runway. Say 230 at 10 would be a 8 HD wind on Runway 25. I am primarily interested in winds aloft such as 268 at 45 along a 285 track. What would the HD wind be in that case and how would it be determined. Also this sentence appears in the MD-11 Manual FMS 10.18 Item 5 TEMP/WIND " Wind bearing is always along the aircraft track". I'm sure people know about this, but I just saw this and thought it was pretty cool! If you zoom all the way in on the cockpit in spot view, you can watch the Captain and FO flying the airplane...complete with wiping the sweat off their foreheads. I will say first off, that I do not enjoy putting in each and every way point for every single flight, especially if I decide not to ever use that flight again, is there something I can do to cut down the time of the tediousness of having to add a way point for every flight I do or do I just uninstall it if I don't want to do this?

Today I opened FS X and loaded MD 11 for the 1st time in a couple of months. As the system was loading the Airacs as it approached the runways section it stopped, showing an error message (no number) and shut down FS X. I had 1007 Airacs(?) loaded. Have not had any problems before with any Airacs or other elements. After shutdown, I downloaded and installed the current 1008 Airacs. Started FS X again, selected the MD 11 but the same thing happened. I thought that maybe it would effect other PMDG products but that was not the case. Also, no other aircraft had this problem.I've never seen this type of error and I'd be most appreciative if someone could figure out this…

While I'm not a huge fan of FSX, that's what I'm using for now.So, the first plane I purchased? The PMDG MD-11....However, I can't even use it!I downloaded the combo pack finally, and went to install the FSX version. It asked for my details, which I entered. Ok, heres the story:I got this brand new computer, with Win 7. I just purchased and installed the MD-11 FS9 verision and my first impression was that its amazing, After getting a general overview of the virtual cockpit (about 3 minutes after the aircraft initialized) my whole System froze, i couldnt even get the task manager up, I had to restart my computer, anyway I loaded FS again and chose the Freighter version at a different location and at around the same time, the system again crashed... I tried all different versions of the MD-11 and the same thing happens, I loaded up the PMDG 747-400 and it worked fine, I also tried other payware aircraft like the LVLD767 and Captain Sim 757 everything ran ok... no system lock up! I forgot to mention that my system is Windows XP, SP3, FS X, Sp2 (no acceleration).

I've searched the manuals and can't seem to find any reference to the hash mark on each side of the PFD in the blue area immediately above the 20 deg markings and below the bank angle hash marks. They seem to move inward and outward on approach and I'm a little confused as to what exactly they do! Can anyone assist me in my avid search for an answer.Ciao for now,jack noulet

I've been reinstalling my FS software lately and part of it involved the MD-11X. I started by copying the texture folder and replacing after reinstalling the MD-11, but the liveries didn't appear in the aircraft windows on the FSX menu. I then went for the slow method of repairing every livery separately- still no sign of them in the aircraft selection. Reinstalling software is frustrating at the best of times, but this one really has me stumped. Any solutions would be warmly welcomed.Regards,

hello,since a few weeks I have a problem with the speedbrake .when i want to disarm the ground spoilers its turning backwards itself to the arm position (down)Also occurs the same when I want to deploy the speedbrake , its turning back in the origin position.And very annoying is the ticking sound during the whole flight, starts already when selecting a md11 plane.I am using GoFlight throttleHelp please...Kind regards,Marco

Hey Guys!I'm lovin the MD11 for sure! I have always wanted one, but had to wait until now to get it!Anyway, I've successfully made 2 flights (PHNL-KLAX as FedEx 802) and (PHNL-YSSY as FedEx 75). Most everything is going great, but a few little odd issues I was wondering if you all have experienced!1. Sometimes, while in VC mode, just sitting there for say an hour or so while I'm watching TV etc, I'll come back and try and zoom in/out the MFD, but no joy.
