    I'm flying often with the FMS commanded speed during the whole flight (so, in the "magenta" mode, if you wan't to call it like that) ... in this mode, the AP is retarding at 35 feets over ground... an other solution is to disable ATS at about 100 feets and fly manually from there... now, want I don't understand is, if the AP commands the retard also, if it flyes in the what I call "white" mode... so, if you set the speed by pulling the speed selector knob... should/does it retard or not?

    Hello,Suddenly i've lost nav and beacon lights on my MD-11. I think i'm missing some lines in my aircraft.cfg under de section [LIGHTS].     Hello folks,I cannot seem to find a way (without getting "format error" or "not allowed") to define the radius of a fix around an airport (departure/destination/alternate or even a waypoint)like I can in the Boeing 744 (and LevelD). In those, simply hit "FIX" and enter the ICAO, then a "/25" for a 25nm radius or "/15" for a 15 (one can even put a ring around a ring in the Boeing). Am I able to define the radius size in the same manner in the MD11 (Honeywell) MCDU? If so, what is the acceptable/appropriate entry? Thanks in advance,Bill A.

    Hello.out of interest I am looking for an example of a take off data card for the MD-11. A certain well-known 767 product comes with a draft of a take off data card. I doubt there are too many differences between those, if there are any at all. But does anybody have an image, pdf or something else with a take off data card for the MD-11? I would like to get a look on it.On the other hand, I guess it's pretty tough to get the missing information for the data card, since the necessary tables are note provided with the PMDG MD-11. Unless you got access to the realworld data.Kind regards,

    Hoi...Since a new OS setup and FS+ Addons i have a Prob with my lovely PMDG MD11. After landing the spoilers dont deploy and the autobrake dont work. My system is windows XP, FSUIPC reg. version, Saitek X45 and PMDG MD11. I do a new calibration over FSUIPC but nothing happens. Anybody an idea??? Thanks in advance.EDIT: Now it works all fine...have found a post with similuar probs!!!

    Hi Dan Prunier. If you happen to read this post, I wonder if I can pick your brains as you are such a font of knowledge when it comes to the MD-11.On descent, about to turn into the approach,e.g. Rw25L at EDDF,when all of a sudden the FMC flashes 'ILS Untunable' and yet when I check the ILS freq in the Nav/Radio,the ILS frequency is there,which I have verified by checking the FSX map showing me the Rwy and the ILS frequency.It does not cause any issues as such as I can still intercept the G/S and carry out an auto-land.Just baffled why this message flags up.Thanks in advance,Dan.

    Hi guys.I am recentely having this problem. So what happens is i go ahead and load up a cessna shut it down and end the flight. Then i load the md11 and start flight but then plane has green x on the screens. so i turn on the irs and the apu etc but they still remain! Any help is greatly apprciated.Kind Regards

    I did a repaint on MD-11X and when I viewed it in FSX from certain angles there is a transparent green stripe on the top of the fuselage. Anyone have any ideas where I went wrong? Pulling what hair I have left out.

    For weather I use Active Sky Evolution by HIFIsim. I have also used REX 2.0 weather generator. I have a registered copy of FSUIPC by Pete dowson. I need help with setting up my sim so that I can fly with winds aloft.Here is what I understand about this problem. HIFIsim blames the problem on PMDG. PMDG says its not their problem. Some people say its just a general problem with FSX and simconnect. I think that is true since these issues happen with all weather generators I have tried including FSX's real weather.At this point I don't care what I use. I would just like to be able to fly this aircraft with some form of weather and wind. Please share your insight as f…

    Setting up a scenario from CYYZ 15R to KSFO with the Pearson 9 departure.Pearson 9 for 15R has 6.3% up to 3000, Rwy heading to 7.9 YTP MNM 3000.Looks like radar vectors to the first waypoint on the route ARTHR ~40nm west.Does anyone have programing advise or SOP for the FMS from the MANUAL line to ARTHR?I would assume hand flying or speed climb/heading on AP until a "cleared direct" is issued would be how it's handled?Anything to watch for leaving the MANUAL line blank on the right?Interested in anything y'all have to say.     Every time I do a flight where I leave myself a little fat on fuel I get the message over MLW 458.0!!! Does this version of the MD-11 (pax variant) not have a Max Landing Weight of 491,500 lbs? Currently I have the MD-11 set to a ZFW of 429,995 lbs so if I load on enough fuel plus reserve I tend to be landing in the 460,000 to 462,000 lb range and get this message every time. Is there a place that I can reset the MLW to 491,500 lbs.FS9 on windows xpMatt [email protected]

    After doing a lot of auto landings in Zurich and getting various results I wonder if those programs are 100 % consistent.Ex: On final approach when on the G/S I get the message terrain,terrain.Sometimes I get it,sometimes no.Of course I made 100 % sure that all conditions are the same ( weather,weights,route etc etc )When getting the terrain message I just ignore it and continue.The landing is perfect,all indications are there( from the Green Box to Align etc )I just wonder if the computer can behave weird and if other people notice that too.ThanksHubert Werni

    Hi,I have just a short quick question about the wind. I use active sky evolution for the weather. I put in a route in ASE and it gives me wind component i. e. +22. Does that mean its head wind or tail wind? I always thought:+22 means the wind blows against you > so head wind-22 means the wind blwos with you > so tail windBut when i put in the md 11 fmc +22 it says me its TL22. So the wind component +22 in ASE means tail wind?Whats correct now? Thanks for any help,Nicolas

    I am stumped by this problem which all of a sudden has cropped up since I installed AES Base Pack and then when I discovered that I could not do an FS2Crew or plain ole MSFS push-back,hence uninstalled it.Everything about the FS2Crew works perfectly from start-up till I've selected flaps 35 and am about to auto-land when instead of going to the Decision window I get the Go Around window and the u/c comes up and everything goes pear-shaped.I cannot go backwards or forwards on that G/A window choice,so have to hand-land,but the IAS is not bleeding off and hitting F2 to engage reverse thrust makes no difference and then have to use F1 to cut the throttle or abort the landing…

    Hi guys.I've used the PMDG MD-11 for awhile with nary a problem. I set her aside for awhile to re-learn the LDS 767.Now, I use FS2Crew to get my flight started, and with engines started, the throttles get no response from the engine.I've used FS2Crew with the freighter variant before with no problems.The engines start fine, pushback is completed, and I move my throttles forward. The throttles in the VC move, but there is no actual increase in thrust on the engines. On the PFD, however, it shows the increase in commanded power, if that makes sense. The little white tick mark that shows commanded power will advance, but the engines do not increase in thrust.Any ideas?

    Hi all just got fsp and was wondering if some one could point in the right direction here1 Beacon lights are turned on when u start the engines2 nav lights are on at all times3 strobe lights and landing lights are turned on when entering rwy and turned off when exiting rwy to taxi way4 landing lights off above 10000 and on below5 Beacon off after shutdown question is is there a strobe light for the md-11 if is where is the switch for it since i found the beacon and nav switches

    Anyone with any idea why my MD-11F should all of a sudden completely freeze and lock up FSX.Did an EGLL-EHAM flight and was descending into EHAM to pick up the STAR,when I had it lock-up and freeze FSX,yet was only using 24% CPU(Quad Core+12Gb).But,when I tried the very same flight with the 747,no issues.Strange? And all this after re-installing FSX,then other aircraft and scenery add-ons followed last by the 747 first,then by the J4100,and then the MD-11.Thanks for any advice.

    Hi out of the blue I have began to get CTD's while using FMC in the air. Baiscally using the DIR funcion, adding waypoints to route, even choosing a STAR will instantly cause a fatal error. Now this happens whether in NAV or HEADING mode for AUTOPILOT. However I can use the VOR intercept function if that helps. I put my CPU back to stock and still CTD's.     Hi guys.Right i am learning this brilliant aircraft hwever everytime on takeoff this problem occurs. I press autoflight once to arm auto thrust (works fine) i arm nav and prof and takeoff i hear the click and to thrust is set but when i press autoflight again for the autopilot the alarm goes off saying the autopilot is off??!!! I therefore go in the vc disconnect autopilot the re-engage. y does this happen.Thanks in advance.
