hey people. so simply here is the problem. i have windows 7, fs 2004 and md-11. but i cnt update my fs 2004 to 9.1 just because im using windows 7. is there a way i can make this atully work on windows 7 and thre md-11 hope you can help :)soul.alex billington

Hello,I'm pretty familiar with PMDG's 747 and purchased the MD-11 a couple of weeks ago. I've done both tutorials and have been looking at the manual. When I disconnect the autopilot on the 747, I still have the option to keep the autothrottle on. But, when I disconnect the autopilot (pressing down on AFS OVRD OFF) on the MD-11, it also disconnects the ATS. How can I keep the ATS on while the autoflight is off?I'm sure I've missed something in the manual but I've been having trouble with this one.Thanks for the helpChris K.

Hi Captains,after nearly 1000 hours flying MD-11, i sense there are still some minor bugs on this heavy:1.)imagine the pilot forgets pulling baro bug, after crossing TA or during climb and climbs with e.g. QNH 1018 to his final level, in this case FL330. If he notice his failure on his cruise level and pulls the baro-bug to QNH standard the machine doesn't levels FL 330 automatically, and it is nearly "frozen" on current hight!

Under the short cut menu in the FMC there is an aft cargo door, what is it for, on all of my MD11F cargo planes pressing this button does not open any cargo door.As I recall in the passenger MD11 there is also one cargo door button that does not open any cargo doors.Regards,Rod Storer

I don't profess to be an expert at flying any of the PMDG aircraft but i learnt a small but valuable lesson (you can be the judge of that) today while flying my MD-11 from Amsterdam to Birmingham in the UK. I was about 45 miles from my decent point when i started to set up the FMC for runway 33 and the STAR, all was good. I had a really nice autopilot descent right down to the last way-point at the point where i arm the APPR/LAND but when i hit the button nothing happens. It was like it was just a blank button so of course like the idiot i am im thinking it can't be me? so i just keep pressing it in the hope that it will arm but no!So i check the FMC flight plan and goto…

I've recently repainted an aircraft and converted a passenger paint I had, into a cargo variant. Everything worked out great except when turning on the interior lights at night, I still see the entire row of PAX cabin lights instead of the few cargo lights.Is this a file I can just overwrite, or is this part of the texture itself? I recently re-installed (I have the boxed version) and went on a flight last night, when i noticed in the middle of the flight the aircraft made a sharp right turn off course from the flightplan. It then corrected by making a sharp left turn, and so on and on... The rest of the flight became a giant zig zag following the flightplan. My fuel was balanced, my autopilot settings were correct, my flightplan was perfect, and the winds weren't changing direction at all. I will mention that I do have Active Sky Evolution running, however I've disabled wind smoothing which leads to problems with PMDG planes from what I understand. Has anyone else noticed that on the MD-11 the smaller nose gear doors do not stay open when the landing gear is extended? Or am I only experiencing this problem?ThanksSam

I have been using my MD-11 without any problems for about 200 flight hours.I am using the FSX version of the aircraft.On my last two flights the aircraft upon taxi out has been turning to the right... requiring constant correction to the left to taxi.Upon takeoff and autopilot on.. the aircraft will turn away from the command bars to the right.. in any mode HDG/TRK or nav.I thought maybe there was a problem with my joystick so i re calibrated it... the problem is still there.So after takeoff i unplugged the joystick from the system and the turn is still present.the rudder and aileron trim are both zero and the aircraft is within balance.It has all of a sudden made this g…

I tried to delete the corresonding entries in the .cfgs but messed it up totally.What would be spectactular.. Hi allIn the last 2 takeoffs, I have noticed that a level 0 alert is displayed on the EAD showing BLEEDS ALL OFF and dissapears when engaging AUTOFLIGHT. I haven`t noticed about that before, so in the case that this alert appears every time, would be normal, right?Looking at the QRH, it tells, All three bleeds have been turned off for a bleeds off takeoff. Problably this alert will be of no consecuence, but just to ensure.Thanks Asier

Flying a manual landing to 34L at LEPA I was decending nicely. Shortly before 'flare' with the AT off, the engines spooled up and caused a go around. This was after pressing the button on the edge of the throttles too.What's the best way to make sure the AT is off and stays off please?

Over the past several weeks I have tried to install about 5-6 liveries for the MD11 and 747-400. They download and install ok but they don't show up in the FSX select airplane option. They don't show up in the aircraft cfg file. However, they are listed in the Programs and Features of the Control Panel and can be uninstalled. On a side note The MD11 installer was right below the cfg file. I clicked on it for laughs and received an message saying "Sorry an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author". I have no idea if these two things are related or not. Good morning,after loading the tut1. panel state, the FMC does not allow me to access the F-PLN INIT page. Instead it shows a stand-by menu with 1R-LSK "standby F-PLN*".According to the manual I can come back to F-PLN INIT by 1R LSK --> standby ACTIVE.My question: why is the tutorial panel state coming up with a different start screen on the FMC, or in other words is it possible I have modified it by accident?Thanks and regards

Hi guys, First of all, sorry if this is the usual "not another newbie question", but I will make it quick! :( I've always used FS passengers to do my cargo and passengers loads, but since it causes to much problems with the MD-11 PMDG I just sticking to using the PMDG MD-11 load manager. But my question is, if i decide to change the pax, cargo loads after landing during a turn-around, how do I do that without changing the aircraft? - Would it just be simple as going into the "ALT / FUEL & CARGO" menu in FS9 and changing it all there?Sorry again for the daft question guys.Tah, Stephen.

I accidently left gear down during a climb to 37000ft after takeoff (forgot to retract as i got distracted) Wasnt till i did view from the outside that i noticed gear down at 20000ft.Cant believe there wasnt aural warning/bell/siren or indicator to tell me gear left down - shouldnt i get some sort of alert especially when im at 20,000 and gear is down !!?

Anyone know what the deal is with this? It also happens to the exterior model and occurs about 50-75% of the time. I havent noticed other aircraft doing this but I have been only using the MD-11 lately. Is there a fix or work around? Help please! Hi guys,I've just recently got FS2Crew - MD-11. So as you do, I installed it and it works nicely. But this is where I don't understand, I use FSpassengers aswell.I start my flight, then go into FSpas and set that up .. pax, cargo, etc... and straight away I get a ZFWCG out of balance warning from FSUIPC. Can't seem to sort the problem out. I don't use the PMDG cargo/pax planner as I thought FSpassengers dealt with it all since it always worked fine with my PMDG 737.What you guys think?Tah very much,Stephen

This usually occurs on a long flight in the MD-11 and the Queen. Have modified FSX.cfg with bojote's tweaks and Shader mod, tuned down displays in PMDG options but the displays continue to freeze.Has anyone discovered a permanent fix?

I was reluctant to post anything, but this same issue has shown up on my new i7 build so I'm wondering what might be the underlying cause. I'm running the MD-11 with Ultimate Traffic 2. On my last system it was very repeatably that on approach to 33L in BOS at about 50-100 feet on short final the airplane would suddenly leap onto the runway. Kind of startles you because you'll suddenly hear the firm touchdown and the Spoilers deployed call. I thought it was just some bug with BOS 33L, but last night on my new system I got the same repeatably results landing at LGA RWY 13 and 22. Only common HW component between the two systems is the PNY 9800GTX+ card, but I wouldn't…

Hello everyone, Flying into Bogata columbia the other day I had a little bit of an issue. Wonder if anyone could shed some light on this for me. I did the ZIP1B STAR into the airport. When I entered it into the FMS it entered with no problem however...the intercept magenta lines were all over the place. So I decided to just deleted the STAR and enter it in Manually. I ended up entering it all fine but again however...I was unable to get the "intercept" checkpoints to come up within the FMS....What I did was just used the FIX/RADIAL/DISTANCE command. It basically did the same thing but I had to use a guess for the radial and distance. My question is.....how or what i…
