PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi,I apologise if that was asked before, but here is my question. I was planning a trip from an airport (located in Europe) to St. Maarten - TNCM. And I was wondering how to calculate ETOPS (or is it preselected e.g. 180 min). So, if MD-11 has ETOPS of 180 min my flight is possible but if it has 120 min ETOPS I'm not able to fly to TNCM (in that case I should go to New York first and than fly to TNCM).Thank you for your answers,Aljaz Prislan

I could use some help with this issue. I installed the MD-11 and the load manager but now it takes 1:10 for FSX to start. The same is true when I try to select another aircraft. Is this normal or have I messed something up. My frame rates are still fine and I don't have any other issue.Thanks

LSZH to SBGL / TOGW is 615.6 of which 218 is fuel / FMC Opt FL is given as 305 and Max 325 By the bottom end of Spain Opt is still only 320 and Max 338. This seems awfully low.In the World Air Routes Swiss MD11 video (highly recommended) in both briefings for LSZH-SBGR-LSZH they are fully laden (there is a long discussion about how to get out of Zurich at max weight with terrible tail and cross winds) but still looking for a routing that will give them between 350 and 370 and it appears that they get up to their given max FL pretty quickly.Does flying above Opt burn more fuel in the sim?How come my Max is so low when in the real world they get to go much…

From time to time you need to reinstall your Fs and consequently all your add-Ons. Recently i'm facing this problem a lot after installing the md-11, I got this message while initializing FSX " Cannot find Add-On scenery\scenery Area.115 in scenery .cfg file", then Fsx crashes and i have to reinstall everything again from scratch. Really it's annoying !! :( I observed that after the installation of the md-11, when i try to open any file from the md-11 menu like (load manager-normal cheklists-etc...), i got this " shortcut is missing" which indicates a corrupted installation. I've got the PMDG 747 installed if this has anything to do with it.Any ideas????FSX-SP2

Hey guys just a quick question. When using the PROF to guide my aircraft through the flight, it is having a problem climbing. For some reason, as the aircraft climbs higher and higher, the CLB LIM gets lower and lower, thus causing the aircraft not to climb. This is a very frustrating problem. This is with FSX sp2I've tried multiple ways to do this and keep coming up with the same issue. Could somebody quickly reproduce this so as I'm not doing this wrong.Go to KMIA and parking spot with the GE Model MD-11 FreighterGo to advanced weather in the FSX dialog and make the temp 23CNow in the FMC under TO/APPR type in flaps 25 with a flex of 48C and see if you get 65.8 or somewhere low like that for a TO Thrust.You can probably use any flightplanHere are the values I get for thrust at 23CFlex Thrust50 104.149 85.048 65.847 85.646 105.545 105.8Now if you do this at 15C TAT the values are correct but in the 20's the flex temps …

Hi all,a few days ago I turned all the possible manuals around for some info about how to store a manually inserted flightplan.Either I overlooked it (which is probably the case!) or maybe it's not there, anyway I discovered it;After you have inserted your flight plan:* go to the REF page in the MCDU.* you will find an option "save F-PLAN" in LSK 6R.This will store the plan for you!

Quick question, in the MD-11 manual (real and PMDG version, SYSTEMS starts page LAND.10.7) it mentions in the ABS section 3 selections (min, med, max) but it also mentions the choice of two deacceleration options being "Stadard" or "High" and lists the deaccel rates for min, med, max in both modes. It states exactly "The operator can select either HIGH or STANDARD ABS.", I have gone through the aircraft in search for this option and can't find it, or is it in a position where we don't have access and isn't modelled or have I missed it (took me a while to find the ADG handle)?

Hi,departing at SEQU (OAT +13C, no-Flex-TO, F25, TOZFW 300kgs blw. maxZFW, 30t FOB) for a flight to TNCA at to-run the engines ran into the N2-RPM-limits under autothrottle control (amber alert)! How could this happen? I thought autothrottle prevents damage on the engines? :)

Hi everybody! There's an annoying unsteady click sound whenever I load the MD11 (FS9). It is audible only in cockpit views (both 2d and VC) even in cold&dark setups, through the entire flight, after shutdown and even after closing the flight from the main FS menu (!!!). First I thought the sound may come from any handle or knob accidentally triggered by a jittering hardware device (I' am using goflight modules and vrinsight mc panel) so I checked every panel in the cockpit without any success. Even more strange: There is no sound like this during normal flight operation. It is louder than any switch sound, sounds a little bit like the sound of the flaps handle but …

I know it is a simple procedure, but I stuck. I selected MD-11X Load manger Panel Configuration as "Wide Screen" and FSX loaded , Md-11X appeared with wide screen. This morning I downloaded TWA re-paint from PMDG download section and loaded FSX, MD-11X/TWA appeared with "Normal" not "Wide Screen". What did I missed? How can I get back "Wide screen"ThanksSanal

Hello, I purchased the PMDG MD-11 for FS9 last year and recently went through a hard drive re-format. I did not purchase the extended service when i purchased the MD-11. Is there anyway I can get another copy of the .exe file?Matthew Edwards

Hi everyone.I hope someone can help me with the nav and engine displays.The edges look like the anti aliasing has been turned off although all the other texturesare sharp but at night with the panel lights on the the edges of the displays are fineI am using a GTX285 1gb i7 4mhz and 6gb ram Win7x64 and enhancer and i am using the latest driver.Even rolling back to a previous driver hasnt helpedThanks in advanceRay Ellis

Hello together,I've got a problem with the textures of the exterior model of the MD-11. Even after installing the newest update this problem occures.Shortly after starting a flight with the MD-11X my aircraft looks like this:I've tried to reduce the LOD radius setting but it doesn't work for me. Hello, My MD11 works nice now. there is just a small Bug? with the LSAS system . i already wrote about it.i can easily reproduce it. I start FSX.. choose the MD11 and Airport (EDDF as example) and doa Short Flight to Hamburg EDDH. everythink works well and how expected. After Landing in EDDHon the gate I prepare the "11" for a new flight to LHBP as example but without reloading the plane in FSX. then after second takeoff without reloading the plane in FSX between these flights i gota Problem with the LSAS system 1000feet after takeoff. Hi guys!As you can see in the screenshots below some of the characters/numbers/letters are messed up and replaced by some strange characters instead. I've noticed this on my last flight and haven't seen this before. A couple of days ago I installed the MD-11 version of FS2Crew so maybe this problem is caused by FS2Crew (dropped the same question in their forum as well) but since I don't know if the problem is caused by FS2Crew or the MD-11 itself I though I ask in here too.Thanks in advance for any input/help!

Hey guys i just recently purchased the MD-11, and the only thing i'm having trouble figuring out is how to maintain a steady speed. The problem occurs as i start to climb up in altitude. As i start to ascend higher and higher, the auto throttle lowers the speed of the aircraft, not letting it get to the desired speed hold. I've even tried to play around with the Auto Thrust Limits, and i still cant find the problem. Surly this beautiful bird doesnt top out at 240 knots at 26000 ft!. Any help would be appreciated. Rob

I've been flying MD11X for several months - this problem has only occurred in the last few flights. During climb and descent, the last two digits on the PFD altimeter read outs change to "--" rather than indicating the tens of ft. This only happens for a band of about 1000 - 2000 ft then the read out reverts to normal. Happens on both PFD on both 2D and VC - but the standby is OK?Screen shot attached - before I try a re-install wonder if anyone else has seen this?Many ThanksJohn Rooum

So I develope a flight plan from KDAL to KPHX. The plan is "ABI BSG EWM SSO".For my SID I enter WORTH5 and 13L as my runway.Now my plan looks like this13LTTTF-PLN DISCOUNTINUITYABIIs there any way to get rid of F-PLN DISCOUNTINUITY so that NAV mode takes me from TTT to ABI? As it is I have to use a heading from TTT to ABI and then go back into NAV mode once I get to ABI.Rod Storer
