PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Shortly after take-off I notice that a warning message "Brake Temp" appears. If I bring up the EICAS panel, several wheels have a brake temperature of '9'. This has happened on several flights. I did a search but nothing showed up. Anyone got any ideas please? Sorry this should have been in the B747 forum. I will repost it.

Hello everyone, I use a third party software to load cargo weight into the MD-11. i do NOT use the load manager. The FMS asks me to enter the ZFWCG. Now when I load the cold and dark panel from the default menu, the airplane is (I assume) loaded with 15.0 for fuel. I DON'T know the current ZFWCG. Is there a way to find this out?? I tried looking on the Secondary Display but the CG is blank. Any help would be great!!ThanksCaptPaul

I fired up the MD11 today for the first time in a long time and had a number of problems. 1. everytime I went to put the parking brake on it immediately put itself off. I got the power on to the a/c and put the pump on to get some hydrolic pressure, but it did not change the problem. So I checked in the forum and rudder peddles seemed to be a probable cause, so I stated to investigate.As this problem affected all a/c I tested fixes on the 737NG. When that worked (and other a/c) I went back to the MD11. Problem now, the parking brake does not even try to come on and I cant get any power to the a/c. Hello all,I have bought the boxed version of the PMDG MD11 1.20.0055 for FS2004. Everyting is more than perfect on this aircraft, also the framerates. Unfortunately there is one pretty important error with the Autobrakes. After touchdown they cannot be disarmed. Not with the button, not with the Period <.> key. It remains stuck. To erase the problem, the flight has to be reset or be remade. It occurs on all liveries. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong in setting up the a/c for instance?I wonder if this problem occurs among more users of this very new boxed livery by Aerosoft, or if this a particular problem.Best regards,Leon Brouwer

Whats more frustarting then fsx crashing mid flight, my fsx crashed and a message saying a fatal error has occured and one about data execution prevention came up.Any workaround?ThanksJosh Katz

Hi guys. Did a really nice flight from KMIA to SKBO yesterday and on the approach really wanted to switch off the autopilot and hand fly the last 4nm. What is the correct procedure for doing this? I don't want to disconnect the ats though.

In the MD do the anti ice protection operate automatically or do I need to click them on. I ran into an icing problem in FS9 usin REX2.0 and I started losing altitude. So I manually placed all anti ice prtection and but I wasnt sure if this was really necessary. I imagine it was due to loss of altitude.ThanksAndrew DeLaney

For the past couple of times, I have tried just practicing landings in the MD-11 by performing touch and go's. Well, it seems that everytime I move my stick to the left, the screen instantly goes black, and all I hear is wind noise. I have to restart FS2004. It doesnt do it with any other aircraft, Including the PMDG747-400. Should I just do a fresh install of the MD-11? Thank You!James Bower

Not sure whats going on here but i wonder if an addon or something is causing this. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the md-11 these pictures were taken right after i reinstalled I also dumped my fsx.cfg had it rebuild a new one. Whats causing this I know this isnt the way its supposed to look. Any ideas???Guthrie Zuehlke

What keeps the Hydraulics warm? I am sitting on the ramp at EPWA - Outside temp is -11c Nacelle temps are -12c and fuel tanks are -10c but the Hydraulics are a cozy 21c unpressurizedThanks

Hi, Could FS9 & FSX users with Fast systems let me know what guage FPS setting they have in the PMDG options.I have a fast system for FS9 (I7) and I have the refresh rate set 100FPS (FS9 is set to 30FPS) However the smoothness of the PFD and flight director is poor. I started flying 2D while waiting for a TrackIR replacement. So is it a case of the VC refresh rate is just rubbish compared to the 2D or is something wrong with my setup.Cheers

Hi,I've searched this forum for an answer, but the search results for my keywords are exhaustive. Can you please give me an indication as to whether this has been solved by anybody before or is at least a known issue?I get CTDs pretty much always when trying to load a saved flight from KATL to PHNL on the MD11. The countdown clock ...19...18 sometimes makes it closer to zero, but until now it never went past 4... Then, all of a sudden, FSX reports a fatal error to have occurred and restarts. Hi guys,Just bought the MD-11 and it is a superb aircraft to fly. Have done the tutorials but I'm having issues with regards to reaching my crz altitude. my plane levels off a couple of hundred feet beneath the altitude. I have the altimiter set to standard. Right now I should be cruizing at FL330 but it only gets to about 32750. Can anybody tell me where I'm going wrong?

Greetings.Has found out in itself a problem. At descend and interception of a vertical profile by means of wheel V/S from a virtual cabin, MSFSX ceases to work and flight on it comes to an end. Good day together...since a few weeks, i fly more and more in the USA...Often it happens in the charts, that you have to fly a DME Arc Approach...For example i take TNCM.. look here: TNCM Charts and scroll down to the last page...Sometimes, like Nice in France, you can choose it as a STAR, and the plane flys the DME-ARC perfectly.. but in St. Maarten you dont have any STARS... ULUBA1 ist the onliest..but it takes you only to the FAF... I flew every time the published VORDME approach of PJM..Im very interessted, programming this DME-ARC in the FMC oft the MD-11...I only knows, that you have to programm something on the FIX page... but im not sure, and tried several ours to…

When I start de MD11 and after the initialisation the flight dispays get alle three a big green cross.I have searched but I cannot find the corse of that. The engines of the MD11 are running, the battery is on even the APU.Is there anybody who knows the solution? :( Peter Scheffer

Would anyone recommended using the TSS PW GE sounds for the FSX version of the MD11? I think the original sounds are great, I was just wondering since sound is the only thing TSS focuses on, if they perhaps made the sound for the MD11 a little more special.

HiIt's true that I am still new to MD11. I also admit I haven't read all the manuals from cover to cover. But still I can't believe that I can't take off in at least four out of five flights.I accelerate to 70%, press AutoFlight and... nothing happens. It stubbornly remains in T/O Clamp, there are no F/O calls, and I almost always end up frantically braking 50 feet before the end of rwy. I also tried (in vain) to arm AutoFlight before entering the rwy.I'm doing preflight carefully step by step by the manual&tutorial and before takeoff there are no alert messages (except blue NoSmoking, SeatBelts, and AutoBrake T/O), and there is green rectangle indicating I should be …

I had a problem with loss of airspeed on my last MD11 flight but thought it was due to wind problems. I just redid the exact same flight but watched the controls/displays all the time this time. At exactly the same point as I lost speed last time I got a "Oil Pres Low" in yellow on the display. All engines then lost all power and my speed dropped so much that I could not fly any more. I checked that all the fuel levers were still in and they were so that's not the problem. I have no idea what caused it and it's strange that it happen twice and in the same point on my flight. Hey guys, Has anyone used or use the program mentioned in the appendix of the Advanced tutorial "Flight Operation Center"?It is the software used to create the nav logs use in the Advanced tutorial and after looking at their web page, looks like the webmaster has been on leave for a few years being that Airline 2 and FS 2002 are mentioned. The latest FS version listed is 2004 though, but no mention of FSX. I don't know why it would matter, or if it would what version of FS you used other than the flight plan itself, but I can bypass the need for that function. I tried to fly the second tutorial flight, and everything went fine until I got to cruise altitude (FL350). The plane kept climbing and leveled off about 500 higher than cruise altitude. I pressed the b because I thought that I forgot to change the pressure, but this changed it back to local pressure and now the plane was level at cruise altitude. I could not get the plane to hold fl350 at standard pressure. Does anyone know what could cause this? I have included a picture to make it easier to understand what happened.Anthony Marsillo
