PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Good evening everybodyI've got a big problem and I don't know how to solve it:I have installed the PMDG MD11 under Vista 32bit and it was running very well.Now I have installed Windows 7 64bit, and the PMDG MD11 was not running very well (everything was black). So I decided to uninstall it and try to install it again. But now my FSX crashes everytime I want to start it!I tried to install MD11 again, uninstall again and I tried to reset the FSX.cfg. I tried nearly everything, my FSX always crash?! :( I don't know what to do now, I've tried everything I could.Now I need some professional help from the experts :) Please help, I don't know if I could survive without FSX :( K…

Let Me start by saying everything worked OK until I downloaded Tutorial 2With the default plane or any livery I chose (making thing real by using AA Aircraft). I have no cockpit ALARMS, Ie, Fire Test,Seat belts, No smoking, applying parking brake, no sound with push back (or voices),everything else I here packs coming on,engine starting, accelerations outside of aircraft, just no audible alarm sounds, I've checked all the sources I know of, any ideas Thanks in advance.Dave OrrP.S. Does anyone know where I can obtain the Centurion Cargo repaint? Centurion Cargo operate the MD-11F in real life and I'd like to get this repaint.I have hunted it in the AVSIM Library but the file I found does not install correctly.Any help would be appreciated.RICK

Just finished converting the engines in the UPS and FEDEX Prattand Whitney Freighters. All i need is to know who the authors of the PW variants are to ask them for there permission to upload the aircraft as the fuselage is there work not mine. Does anyone know who they are?cheers

When I deviate from the NAV route, but are in the vicinity of it (i.e. not hundreds of miles off), are the PROF information and the vdev pointer still valid sources of information, i.e. can I use them for descend guidance even if I'm not on the magenta path?The question arose this weekend when I flew a manual approach to TNCM. During the descend, I decided to deviate from the magenta route and do the rest of the flight by hand. With AP and AT off, I left the lateral path, turned earlier missing some fixes and approached the runway at an angle different to the calculated NAV path. I've read all about FS Build and how awesome it is. I was just wondering if it can export flight plans/compatible to the PMDG MD-11? I have not seen the aircraft mentioned on the FS Build website, however I've seen a couple other PMDG aircraft mentioned there. Thank you

Recently I started playing with some emergency situations. In certain cases that involves fuel dump.I was scouting through the manual and the forum for some details about the process but could not find explanations.1. What is the exact procedure when dumping fuel?2. Do I need to enter in FMS any data prior dumping and if yes on which page? (I could not find anything in the FMS manual regarding that)3. What is the minimum fuel quantity in the tanks (lbs.) where the dump ceases? Hi everyone!I was looking at the flight planning function of Flightaware.com, and I was considering using it for planning of my PMDG MD-11 flights. I've noticed you can "create" an airplane profile on that website, and it will calculate fuel consuption and everything together. Has anybody tried it? Does it works ok?I also have no idea of how to get the climb, cruise and descent profile numbers to put on that site... If anybody knows, it would be of great help for me!And also, by the way, what flight planning instrument do you use to plan your flights? As it's obvious, I'm looking out for one...Thanks!

I asked for, and recieved from my sister the boxed verion of the MD11 for Xmas. Nice change from sweaters!All I can say is wow, what an incredible simulation. I've had the plane two weeks now and feel like I am just barely scratching the surface - especially the FMS sstem. This this product is huge accomplishment and I now know why it took so long to publish. I've been buying PMDG birds since the first Fly2K 757. I continue to be amazed at what is possible with a desk top computer and few monitors. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the 737s....Colin Ware

Ever since I saw the maiden trip of the 787 I have wanted that paint. Unfortunately I don't have a 787 to put it on. So in fun, I decided to make a sort of tribute livery for my MD11 livery collection. All greetings.There is such problem. I fly on MD-11 with Track-ir and the axis centre track-ir is a little more to the right of an axis yoke columns, by pressing F12 my sight is projected not on the centre and hardly more to the right. If will move on FO seat the centre too is displaced. How it can be corrected?

I was descending to PHNL via ATC instructions that were having me do heading changes via heading knob and altitude changes via altitude knob and pulling it. Eventually, I was cleared for the visual approach so I hit the AP Soft Disconnect button on the yoke twice. I was then able to turn the plane, but I had no pitch control at all!The PFD stated that the autopilot was off, but the ATS was in "PITCH" mode. I couldn't get it out of that for the life of me. I was unable to climb nor descend, and I ended up doing a sort of go-around and just setting up an autoland on the ILS, which worked just fine.I am about 100% sure that I simply missed something, but a quick scan of …

I have all my aircraft folders named in a format like F16A, FA18C, FA18D, B737-800, B474-400, etc.When I change the PMDG_MD11 folder to MD11 I get green X's on the MFD's, to get the MFD's back all I have to do is stop FSX, rename the folder back to PMDG_MD11, restart FSX and load the MD11.Can anyone tell me how to get the MFD's to work if I change the folder name to MD11?Regards,Rod

The top of of descent pause for the MD11 has always been unreliable for me. It works only part of the time even though I leave it checked on every flight. I have tried starting flights from scratch and saved flights and it does not seem to make a difference if it will trigger or not. I posted a thread back when the MD11 for FSX was first released but did not here much response. I had hoped the update would have addressed it. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I like to start long haul flights and then let it cruise unattended but don't like overshooting my destination. Also this feature on the 747 works flawlessly every time. Thanks John

Can anyone shed some light on the fact that the maximum landing weight of the MD11 in Topcat is 471500 pounds but according to the MCDU when imputing flight details, the MLW is 458000 pounds?

Hi allAnyone experienced this problem when trying to load the PMDG MD11 in FS2004. It comes up with a box stating that the FSUIPC must be V3.80 or later and closes FS2004.My FSUIPC is v3.92 so does anyone know a fix for this !!!Thanks in advanceDougbr2005

The reason i ask is that i use the air hauler, and i need to import the PMDG MD11 as custom aircraft import.gonna be awhile before i can buy one, but i would like to have it right. Hi,since some weeks I recognized a problem with my PMDG MD11. Maybe someone can help me?!I started my MD11 from cold & dark cockpit and while initializing the IRS the aircraft does not move. After programming the FMC and takeoff all seems to be OK except that the aircraft always flys between a half and two miles at the right side of the programmed route. The distance between programmed route and flown route seems to be a constant. It differs from flight to flight, not within one flight. Hi gents, :( just taken delivery of the FSX MD-11.......awesome!....have flown the pmdg747 for years amongst others, I wish to ask a question regarding the scenery zoom level viewed through the virtual cockpit windows.I have always adjusted the default 0.70 setting to a more realistic 0.50, makes scenery a thousand times better looking and drastically improves photo scenery loading/blurring. If I remember rightly in FS2004 I could adjust the zoom without the cockpit zoom being affected, but this is a combined feature it seems in FSX.Setting the zoom to 0.50 makes the instruments to far away,and as in the 747 wasn"t a problem because one could adjust eye-point position ac…
