PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Greetings all,I finally successfully completed a tutorial flight from Heathrow to Zurich. It took me 3 attempts, but at least I learned from my mistakes each time. I do have a few questions:1) On page 12, it says to enter 109.50 at LSK4 for the DME reading. I'm looking at the Heathrow SID chart, and can't figure out where that 109.50 is coming from. I see the other VORs (LON and DET) and the NDB (EPM). I just dont see anything refering to that freq. Besides, wouldnt that left turn be 2 miles from the LON VOR, which is 113.60? 2) On page 20, one of the taxi-out checklist items says to press the "AUTOFLIGHT" button. Hi Guys !!!I tried to look up in the manuals but i am not able to look for the fuel charts about how much fuel to load in the aircraft. I mean the same charts i found for The 747 PMDG.. ThanksAlfredo

How do we go about doing this? I did search for a topic about this, but couldn't find any.I have allready implemented it into my JS4100, but would like to do it in the MD-11 too.I really don't care if it can't be married into the map display on the dash (even though that would be the best thing), as long as there is a way to put the gauge in in front of the auto brake switch, or other places in the VC.Regards,Kjetil Mathisen

I just received the fabulous PMDG MD-11 a couple of days ago, and had a bit of time to read through the operating manual. Since I generally have only a limited time to sim each week, I tend to fly mostly manual controlling the plane. The couple of time I took the MD-11 up for a quick spin, the autopilot would engage and thus I was unable to control the engines and airspeed (i was still able to control directional). Anyway, for the mean time, before I am able to complete the tutorial, I would like to be able just to fly some 100% manually controlled flights, without using the autopilot/autothrottle systems. Hello fellow pilotsI have a problem. I cant see the SID/STAR to an airport (ENGM). I dont know what to do any more, i copy the sid/star from navdata.at and put it in the folder FSX/PMDG/SID-STAR . This also happen to almost all other airports. it is f disturbing. I am a aircraft mechanic for sas and i work on 737s, sometimes i see md11 in hangar for maint over night. Hello,When the "ground connections (ground power)" set to automatic, what conditions should be met to make the EXT PWR available?Arriving at the gate with APU ON, shutting down engines and setting parking brake in automatic mode, it comes not available, even not when waiting +-5 min.All the best,Marino

I got latest update, 1.20.0055, but when i land, autobrake simply don't want to turn off. Don't matter what i do, put them to off, press (.) million times, dissengage autopilot...They stay ON, forever! :( It's kinda frustrating when i need to apply full trottile to the gates. Any help with these? I started to use manual braking, without them, but thats not realistic at all.Thanks in advance!DaliborEDIT: Almost forgot, it is FS9 version.

Some help. The gauges do not appear.When loading the MD-11 (for fs9) the gauges do not load at all.After the initializing period the PFD, ND and engines gauge do not show at all.Instead, each one has just a green X in it.What is missing?Thanks,Christos

Afternoon all,Would anyone know why the drop down menu functions don't work in my Vista 64bit installation - When It drops down, I try to access the change configuration/fuel/failure tabs, but I just get black screened for my trouble. Hey there!I was just wondering if its somehow possible to set up the internal/external sounds so that i can hear the internal cockpit sounds when using external views. I often use the tail view and would like to hear the internal sounds on that.Is there a way to do that?Thanks for your help! Tom

Hi all,I really enjoy this aircraft.Lately I added several extra programs to get a better " flying" feeling.The total are : - ASA- VRI CDU- VRI MCP Combo- VRI Hat Track- Rex Clouds- UTX Eu- ST LandclassWhen doing an approach at dusk sound cracks start when deploying the flaps.Then they stay till I have landed.When being at taxi speed they are gone.I use the 182.50 NVidia driver as any driver higher than that one gives sound cracks from starting up FSX.All suggestions are welcome.

There seems to be some sort of brake bug going on. Sometimes my brakes do not respond at all, meaning, I press the period key and nothing happens. I know FS is receiving the key press because I can release the parking brakes by pressing the period key. I have found that I need to mess with the auto brake system to get my brakes back. I'll bring the aircraft to a complete stop using the parkin brakes. Then I'll cycle the auto brake system between ROT and OFF. This seems to restore my normal brakes.I searched the forum briefly and found that others are having various other issues with brakes too, such as the brakes not releasing. I'm using FSX for the MD-11 and notice that I get very shaky video when I'm in instant playback mode. Does anybody else have this problem, and if so, can it be corrected or do I just live with it?I'm running a 2.67 ghz Q6600 quad core, 8800 GT and a P5Q3 Asus motherboard. Other than the 'spot view shakes', all other views along with fps are superb.Regards,jack

Hello,I could need some help for the MD-11.At take off the pitch becomes too high, the a/c's nose is going very steep high and forces the a/c to make a rather sudden correction by lowering the nose.During this phase the message "protection" appears on the upper left corner and speeds turn white. VNAV disengages.After that I have to press again the FMC speed button as well as Profile button to continue flying the flight plan in VNAV mode.What is going wrong during this phase?Help appreciated,ChristosGreece

Following another thread on this forum, I read about entering the Flex temperature in the manual (FMS 10.27). I understand how to enter it, and I also understand that this temperature affects the thrust delivered during takeoff. I"m guessing that a higher Flex temperature will mean a lesser thrust during the takeoff run, right?But here's my question ... what actually IS the flex temperature? What does it indicate? I see that the values can be between the current total air temperature (TAT) and 70C but if the air temperature actually WAS 70C, the air conditioning system in the aircraft would have trouble keeping the cabin below the point where the passengers wou…

Hi, Whenever I am about to land the MD-11 a message on the PFD flashes LO-SPEED PROTECTION and then the throttles jump to full, then after that the plane speeds up to about 220 knots and I cannot land. The only way I can land is by holding down F2 throughout the entire approach. I'm pretty sure I'm setting up the FMS right because I put in a flightplan, weights, takeoff and init pages.
