Left clicking on the "SD" button while in the cockpit view (not virtual cockpit) brings up the EICAS menu. But when you toggle it, the window does not dissapear as it did before the updates. Are PMDG management aware of this issue? Thanks. TJ

Hey,I'd like to know if there's any way to assign a keystroke to the COM frequency changeover button? It would help when told to contact departure (on vatsim) if I didn't have to open the window and mouse over there. FS has a default key set (x), but this doesn't work on the MD11.Any help would be appreciated.Paul

Hi, I love the MD-11. Is there any chance, that in the next patch there will be a outside sound when the APU ist running. This will make it more realistic.Roland

I was wondering if the LSAS system being implemented by the PMDG team provides for dynamic pitch stability below 15,000 ft altitude? I believe initially that this was not available on the early versions of the MD-11, but was later made a standard feature on the aircraft. Regards, jack

Flea? Well I can hardly call it a bug, too small lolIn the 2d overhead lighting panel at night.... I pressed the MAINT INTPH button (top right of the 2 buttons) and it signals ON then if you press the CALL RESET button the part of the lighting panel with the MAINT buttons goes dark. (Or indeed the same happens if the whole panel is open)Perhaps I should state that this is with either the dome or storm lighting switch on. Easilly sorted by clicking off/on on either the dome of storm switches.Same as well if the MAINT INTPH button is switched on then off too followed by the CALL RESET button.Doesn't affect anything at all apart fron the light going out on the lower right ha…

HiI have just downloaded the MD-11 for FSX. I have saved it ( 158.7 MB ) and tried to access it. Default seemed to be Word - just came up a junk text. Then I tried Adobe which said that it couldn't be decoded properly.Does anyone have any explanation. I would be most grateful for any help.

Sometimes I find NO Approach (runway) data in the FMS. Sample: LPPR (Porto) It is no small airport with a runway length of 11.000 ft.I have done Navdata updates (cycly 0908) for MD-11 and FSC. All data is correct, also the FSX map shows correct runway data. Why does it show on the MD-11 FMS: "Appr NONE" ?Errol

HiI have questions regarding FSX MD11' FMS1.Occasionally, on the NAV page and after I select the landing runway the FMS does not automatically pick up the ILS frequency and course of the landing runway. I would be 20nm from the airport and info is not in yet. When I try to enter it manually I get error "Format Error" what is the correct method to enter ILS frequency and course mannually.2. On the fix page when I enter the fix I only get a small green circle around the fix point. Can I get a circle of say 22nm around that fix point as in the boeing aircarfts. for example in LDS767 I would enter LGA for a fix on line 1 and /22 on line 2 to help entering the ARC around the a…

Hello!!I've noticed that the cruising angle of MD-11 is usually around 2.6~2.8 degrees while flying at the FMS suggested optimal cruising altitude, with ECON cruising speed about Mach .825. Of course, if flying at faster cruising speed(Mach .84), the AOA reduced to about 2.5 degrees.I remember the cruising angle of Boeing 747 is usually around 2.5 degrees or even less while flying at optimal altitude and speed.Wouldn't the extra AOA generates more drag on MD-11 while reducing customer comfort? Or is it that because the COG of MD-11 tends toward the rear of the aircraft, it caused steeper AOA?

Hey gents, quick question regarding the speed controller on the approach phase in the md-11...I was inbound KONT yesterday and noticed something I normally havent and now that im playing with it some more it is happening each time. About 7 miles out and established on the LOC/GS and i am controlling my own speed through the speed select window. my VAPP was 145 and my VREF was 139. I turn the knob to 139 and pull, and in the display it still has 143 in magenta. It doesnt matter what i do, it won't accept my command for lower speeds. I have the printed manuals and have poured through them this morning, im sure its my misunderstanding of the AP but I cant find a reason why i…

On my last landing, I used LOC ONLY. When I was close enough to the runway, I pressed the autoland button, and DUAL LAND as well as G/S were announced properly, but the white LOC ONLY didn't go away. Autoland was performed perfectly, and I read in a manual that once LOC ONLY is active, it would stay, but is this true for a DUAL LAND situation as well?Andreas

I have a manual with procedures for normal takeoff. The paper says that when doing a FLCH below thrust reduction altitude by pulling the altitude knob, T/O CLAMP changes to T/O THRUST and automatic thrust reduction takes place at thrust reduction altitude. When I try this, CLB THRUST is announced as soon as the altitude knob is pulled below thrust reduction altitude.Did I misunderstand something here?Andreas

To better understand the MD-11, can someone please enlighten me:1.When I reach the T/D and stay at that altitude, it takes some NM until the vertical deviation indicator starts to move downwards on the scale. When dialing down the altitude and doing a FLCH at that point, it's easy to stay on the vertical path and keep the vdev diamond centered. When an auto descend is made at the T/D instead, the plane dives well below the vertical path and needs much time and distance until it finally intercepts the path again from below. So, the FLCH method looks more "elegant" to me, and I ask why the logic commands a dive when the "real" T/D is still miles ahead and what the reason fo…
