PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Now that the MD-11 is out on CD-ROM for FS9, I am ready to get it. I am wondering however if I will have any technical issues because my DELL XPS is quite dated by now with a lot of older FS software on board. The PC is about 4.5 years old and it runs FS2004 with sim equipment only. I have the PMDG 737NG and 747-400 pax versions on it and I have over 20 hardware devices connected to it (including a mass of GoFlight stuff and TH2G) that all work generally flawlessly. FS runs very smoothly and without any significant visual issues. Heat is not an issue. I think my FSUIPC is version 3.70. Overall, therefore, the rig is stable and reliable. My autobrake will not work. Over some weeks, I have posted here and e-mailed PMDG support, but have received no response. I have read what I have been able to find searching this forum and tried various suggestions offered to no avail. The toebrakes work fine. Setting the autobrake at T.O. has no effect on a rejected takeoff. When landing, with the autobrake armed, the ABS Disarm illuminates immediately on touchdown (with no toebrake applied - and even with pedals disconnected - and F1 pressed at Retard) and there is no braking effect. Hi all,Im loving the MD-11, but Im getting the fuel calculations always wrong somehow. Im calculating it by hand, but never get it there. Is anybody having an Excelshet for these calculations or other options? Im also using FS Commander, but they get it more than wrong... :-) Any help would be much appreciated! I still need to read about the FMS, then the FCOM and QRH before I can fly. Hi AllI have been learning the tutorial mothodically and have the FMC set up as in the tutorial. My question is this, when I takeoff and engage the AP and Prof at the specified heights the airplane banks at 25 deg and pitches up to 25 deg to follow the way points. To me this is not correct it, is like a fighter jet. I have tried setting the bank angle, but at every way point it banks at 25 deg. Is this the correct performance.Another query I have is the configurator. The weights obtained when setting up for full pax mixed are drastically different from the tutorial. Hello;My landscape Win XP SP3, FSX SP2 & FS 9.1, both MD11 FSX and FS9. In FSX : I'm starting from a cold and dark cockpit following step by step the check list. Everything works as well but once I'm starting engines, I've go a FADEC ALTN light each time I start the engine. I click on it and it's vanishing. This is not a big issue but .... I don't understand why, I have no brakes, neither park nor std brake using my joystick. Of course I went to the overhead for a short review : no light illuminated on HYD, AIR or ELEC panel pintpointing a misconfiguration of my overhead. Today my fifth attempt take-off from LFPG (Paris). I made all necessary take-off configurations checks, weight/balance and Lineup on runway. Flex power setting. Plane reached 80% power I hear click sound all power to zero and Plane stops on the runway without power.. Every time I attempt to fly same scenerio. I jave already loged with MD-11 X close to 100 hours that is happening first time.There so no warning any thing. All in green.What is happening???ThanksSanal :(

I've just purchased and installed the CD version of the MD-11 for WInXP and I'm in the process of doing the Tutorial and cannot locate the 'Md-11 Load Manager'. I was instructed to load it per the tutorial from the Windows start menu but it is not in my Windows start menu or anywhere else.. Can anyone assist me with this problem. Do I have to get it from the PMDG website since I purchased the CD version from Aerosoft?? I'm really off course with this one.Regards,jack

Hi guys,This week I began flying with the MD-11 in FSX. Everything went fine and I already performed some autolands and flown some real world routes. Today I decided to fly the tutorial leg again but now to fly it manualy for a good part. (Takeoff and landing) But when I loaded the panel state and wanted to allign the IRS it gave me the message as seen in the screenshot below. I tried to allign the IRS on different airports and different panel states and it keeps giving me these errors. What is the problem?Thanks for your help,Tiemen Bos

Greetings PMDG enthusiasts! I can't seem to get my MD-11 to pause at the top of descent . When I come back to check on it The plane has gone right by and continued on at the same altritude. Therefore my second problem is my flights are not following the STARs correctly. They seem to get confused about the altitude, can't find the ILS and break away from the flight plan. Any tips on how to set the combination to get it to pause/stop before descending would be great!Don Filer

Since upgrading to MD-11 v1.20.0055 on FSX/Vista I've been getting a lot of CTDs. I have replicated on 4 different flight plans in my MD-11X where the final destination's field elevation is programmed as FL300 (or any other FL). This of course throws off the TOD to the last way point prior to the destination. I thought that perhaps I had corrupted the nav database, so I did a fresh reinstall of 0906 with the same result, so thinking that I perhaps corrupted the MD-11 (somehow?) I just performed a reinstall with the same problem. I have done my best to scan the manuals but I haven't found anything yet (still perusing...) Any ideas? Thanks, guys!

This is my first try at the tutorial and I'm not having any luck getting a block fuel to read 30.0 after I hit the LSK 1R on the weight Init page 2. The UFOB that I show is .7, the same as the TAXI 0.7 and when I hit the LSK 1R, it reads out 7.0 and not the 30.0 that the tutorial states it should read, and the TOCG never calculates to 20.7 and remains 'blank'....Something is not right. The CG does display on the ND @ 16.0 with the STAB yellow-blocked @ 3.0......My fuel in the 3 tanks is each showing 2350. I must point out that I am indeed using metric in the 'Add-ons\ PMDG options set-up but I'm not familiar with metric systems. I assume that I have a total fuel supply of…

Hi Guys,Been operating MD11 on FS9 smootly for quite a time without any hassles.Recently, I experienced troubles on FMS/MCDU with following erratic figures :- airfield alt at FL400- total ditance grossly wrong, for instance 8239nm displayed vs 1958nm true- OPT FL is either dashes or 430 !!- CLB speed not managed by FMS until cruising FL is reached and steady.- MAP doesn't display origin of flight on airfield but rather miles away.Noticed that when passing first set waypoint, ALT, OPT FL and Distance to go becoming accurate.Made a reinstallation of FS9, MD11 fresh from PMDG, heaving cleaning of registry, defrag. and so on without any success.Is there anyone who can advise …

Just curious about this nagging problem I have after disconnecting the autopilot while on approach....the aural warning blares "autopilot" over and over again but if I switch to outside view and then back to VC, the aural warning goes away. Fact is, after disconnect, I should hear the aural warning one time....not continuous.
