Simple question:The FS9 autopilot uses "trim" to hold an altitude. Real-world pilots tell me that is not the way autopilots work on real-world aircraft.Because of this, one of the problems I have with FS9 when I didengage the A/P is that the aircarft jumps up or down, sometimes on short final, which is not very nice. In a real-world aircraft, once you trim your aircraft, it will remain trimmed, the autopilot will not un-trim your plane, so when you disengage your A/P, you plane continues to fly without jumping up and down. The only FSim addon I had that replace FS9 with its own autopilot was the 767PIC, best flying FSim aircraft I had. I am considering purchasing the comp…

dear PMDG !As i saw the announcement of the MD-11, to be released in spring 2005, i wonder if the 747 will be released in 2005 also. You've released pictures of the MD-11 Cockpit which seems to be very complete. As you did not release any 747 2D Cokpit shots, i was thinking that the MD-11 would be out before the 747.What's true?Marcello

Hello PMDGI'm not sure if this issue been posted before, but I'm haveing an annoyance when turning on the landing lights during approach, the advance display module goes out or I get flicking text. When flying useing Radar Contact, I must turn the landing lights off to use advance display. Also I 'm useing dual monitors, when I select the overhead panel, I lose or I must constantly reopen undocked panels on the second monitor. I enjoy flying the 737 so much, I used to working around the small issues. Just wondering if anyone else is experienceing the same problem or maybe there's a fix. Thanks for all your help.Bill M737 ROCKS

I have purchased the excellent 800-900 and found the tcas very exciting..The whole package now feels complete.I just have one or two questions that im sure you guys will be able to answer.1. what is the strange noise when you arm the spoilers/speed brakes whilst flying its like someone is rustling papers or some kinda clicking noise...?2. what does the CO Route mean in RTE page? What do i enter in here?3. I have read the booklet but i dont understand what the EFIS MODE/NAV FREQ DISAGREE means?4.What does cost index mean i have read in here somewhere that you should input 100 cost index and 5.5 reserve fuel is that right?5.how does it know the planes weight by just pressin…

Since I fly for Simulated Southwest on VATSIM, I've been using the EFIS/MAP option ever since the 800/900 update came out.Recently, though, I've switched back (or "forward") to the PFD/ND style since in my opinion, it gives more information to me, with the ND taking up a full display (great for TCAS!). It's especially noticable in the normal display. It's also easier to set the BARO DH in the PFD/ND and a few other things. While I understand why SWA and other airlines asked for and got the EFIS displays (common cockpits between different models of 737 = LOTS of money saved in pilot training and cross-model qualification), I' wonder if they'll ever get to a point where …

Hello all, this all started a few days ago when I tried to install a new livery for a 737-700, before that the planes were running fantastic, now comes the problem, the livery installer gave an error stating that the .cfg file could not be opened, after various tries I gave up and decided to use the removal tool and re-install which I have done several times with no avail, the the planes misteriously never install in the correct path no matter what I try, yesterday I thought I had done it but when tried to install the 800-900 series it gave the error that you need the base product to install the other, so at this point I have given up with this because it is really not ma…

SimmersI have been flying the PMDG 737's for some time now but always encounter one problem during descent.I start the descent as usual in VNAV mode the aircraft tips over and starts its descent but it always sacrifices speed or path. if i keep its speed on track it has to raise the nose to slow down. Thus losing its descent path. to get back on descnet path it tips down at a steeper angle to catch it again but the result of this is that the speed goes way over. sometimes even with the speed brakes. If i keep the aircraft on its descent path and disregard speed then by the time it comes to speed restrictions or even in some cases landing the aircraft is very fast, over 250…

PMDG is getting bigger and heavier, and that is a good thing. Now that the fleet is gonna be enlarged a lot (MD11 and 747 are big crafts ;)), why not finding a way to implement this beloved weather radar?Since you're developing a family of aircrafts, all digital, you could develop the radar in a modular fashion: each plane that uses it its own way.Updates would be easier, and implementation too.And you will have something nobody else has.Think of it :)

I've noticed that while I receive an aural warning on altitude capture when CLIMBING in the 737NG(600-700), I receive none when DESCENDING to altitude. Is this as it should be, or do I have a problem(I mean with my installation :-))? If this is indeed as it should be, does anyone know why an aural warning is appropriate in one case and not the other? Many thanks,Frank

I have a (legal) version of the 737-600/700: Next Generation PMDG Model and i have downloaded the update. When i try to run the update, on the install it says: Cannot find /PMDG/737TNGReadme.txtand then it aborts the update immediately. I would like this update as i read on a forum it is a great improvement. Help!__Alex Hnapikos

Dear members of the PMDG factory,I have 2 favorate aircraft and one of them is being produced by Captin Sim simulations. The other, which is my most favorate, is not yet properly simulated so I hope you will have this as one of your future projects.Boeing 777Thanks for your great work.Dirk

Though I asked for the help a couple days ago, haven't gotten any leads so far. please, forgive me if I had to write to support @precisionmauals.comDuring reinstallation of PMDG 737-600, I've encountered a problem that seems to be another I/O issue.the re-installation has been automatically shut down after an error message. Here is the message I got during the reinstallation.Extracting to "C:Documents and Settingsmichael sheenLocal SettingsTemp"Use Path: no Overlay Files: yesExtracting PMDG_737_THE_NEXT_GENERATION_V1-3.EXEI/O error - unable to read from zip fileError: invalid compressed data to inflateAny inputs appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I may be missing something here but doubt it. When you shutoff the hydraulics electrical as well as the air arent you suppose to loose the flight controls on the aircraft. I fly the PIC767 and that is fully model there plus you get the RAT which is deployed in situations like that were full hydraulic failure is encountered. With the pmdg 737 i shutdown all hydraulics and the aircraft keeps flying like nothing happens at all. Realism is set at max in fsimm. Another thing i came about while in full FMC mode flight i shut an engine off lets say right engine and there isnt any loss on the path at all . Did PMDG miss this very important part of the simulation or does the 737 h…

I see that you are soon finished with the 744, and have recently started up a new project, the MD-11. But my question is: when are you going to start working on the last NG package, the 737-BBJ/MIL to complete the 737-NG series? You promised this when the first package, the 737-600/700 was released, and I'm looking forward to it..Lars

I just downloaded and tried out the 737 cabin views with Active Camera. I "walked" to the back and tried looking out the windows. I noticed only the upper part of the engine nacelles visible with no fan - just outer shell, and I couldn't seem to "crouch" down to an out the window view below a standing eye view using the 0 key. Am I doing something wrong? I saw the review of a flight from Brussels to Madeira by Cedric De Keyser and thought the outside views were fantastic. It showed the full engine, wing, etc. How do I get those views? Thanks. Tom

Guys,I have a problem here and the prob didnt go away even after i updated my PMDG 737 to tthe 800/900 version. When flying at dusk, the some parts of the VC panel (i.e. MCP panel) turns to night lighting mode while some parts(main instrument panel) remains as if it was day time. This problem occurs with dome light off.Has anyone had similar experiences and maybe you could offer a solution? thanks in advance

I mentioned this on another thread dealing with PMDG sounds, since someone on the thread suggested checking out this add on. The one I downloaded last night, and then purchased after trying it, is called FSHOT FSX. It is a stripped down version of their combination FS audio add-on and Co-Pilot. I didn't want the CoPilot ( they only cause trouble anyway :) ) so I paid $17 for the sound only version. It is fantastic with PMDG and FS9. It does all the Ultimate Traffic or FS AI traffic with the sounds that those planes would make in landing, taking off and missed approaches including turbines spooling up on takeoff, reverser sound after landing, even the doppler effects …

Hello,I have had the PMDG NG 737 for a couple of months now. Running FS2002 on an Athlon 2000, 512Mb Ram, win 98 se. I spent several weeks following Metzinger's tutorial, having lots of fun and with no real problems. [i did find it was necessary not to touch the speedbrake lever at all prior to take off, even when reset to the hard detent position it would cause the take-off-out -of-config warning horn to sound.] Apart from that everything was fine till I returned, virtually, to the UK to begin line flying. First time I connected to VATSIM with the PMDG 737..... problems. On take off, when I hit the TOGA hot spot, the throttles advanced to about 45% N1, then stopped. I fo…

PMDG are you really considering a 777 inbetween the 744 and the MD-11 or did i misunderstand"I would also like to add that the addition of the new members allows us to develop two large aircraft simultaneously, as the core development teams are different... so if anything the addition of these two decreases the time it will take us to make the next airplane following the 744... such as a 777!Sincerely,Marc Harrington - PMDG"because if this is the case i think it would be a very popular move for as much as i love the 744 and am looking forwards too it it is a little dated where as the flight deck technology on the 777 is cutting edge and even more beautiful! I am in the co…
