Now that I know I am able to fly by just using VNAV and LNAV, I want to fly without a flight plan, so i can use the STARS and approaches of the FMC in order to automatically line the plane with the runway. However the problem here is that when going to a destination airport, you cannot tell which runway you going to land on. When having a flight plan, atc usually tells you which runway you going to land on when around 80nm out and usually starts giving you vectors in order to line you up. However, when not using a flight plan, you can only tune in to the airport atc when around 10nm out. Is there a way i could get to know which runway i am to land on, when not using a…

I am trying to download PMDG's 737-800/900. I can get to the link ok.Internet explorer keeps timing out. Sometimes I get 25 Mb and it stalls, sometimes only 5 Mb.I have Windows XP with SP2 and CABLE modemCould use some advice. Thanks,Kugerand

I fly the 8737-900 and I noticed that the speed brake cannot be armed by just pressing SHIFT+/ as in the 600/700. The only way to arm in it is to open the throttle pedestal and move the speed brake lever by means of the mouse. Is there any other easier way in which I could arm the speed brake?ThanksIvor

Generally, I've had no problems with the 600/700 till tonight. I did a search but didn't come up with anything. My previous flight was from KSFO to KPHX. I saved the flight after finishing.Tonight I reloaded the flight and all seemed well except I couldn't load any fuel. The FS9 menu accepted my fuel changes but when returning to the cockpit it would revert back to its previous setting. Has anyone else had this problem?Specs:Win XP Pro512 RamP4 2.66Nvidia Gforce T4800/omega 4345 driverPMDG 600/700 onlyFS9

When I installed SimControl2 my MSfs9 2004 crashed. I had to reinstall fs9, all of my addons and scenery. Everything is working again and the SimControl2 is back in the box. When i reinstalled the Reality Jet2 with the config from PMDG, in 2D all I have are the reality display Boxes showing red-green-blue bars across the bottom. In the V cockpit I have no guages at all, just black holes. All of the other aircraft are fine. I know I am doing something wrong but I can't think of what it may be. I will appreciate a helping hand. Jack Wilson

Hi anyone knows where I may get good manuals and/or sites that showcase comprehensive technical drawings showing where is what, and better still, what systems perform what functions in a technical sense? The manuals that come with the package is good, but it left out much about the above items.Thanks.Lep

I am a devoted 737 user and i am doing a new run nearly everyday with either the 700 or the 800, My wife dosent allways agree, but then again i know she knows i am a happy fellow. As a true fanatic i want the higest amount of reallity and when i got Bill Bulfers FMC guide & NG companion deliverd the other day in the mail things really hit the fanThe gap between your product and the real thing feels very small and i am still, after five years of constant simflying, amazed what my PC (with a little help from you among others) can bring as far as learning and development, so …

Hi everyone again!I am contacting u guys too see what can I do with my performance, when using the PMDG 737-800.Lets see... my pc its not a bad machine (P4 1.4, GeForce Deluxe 64MB) but ok, its not the best. Anyway. I have no much problems with the rest of the Fs. I mean, with High details, Active Sky and Sb it gives me a very good rate of frames, but, when I put the PMDG...well...it looks like a PII of 400 mhz(if i have luck :().So, if anyone could give some " freaky tips" to solve this problem, i will really apreciate it.Regards,Felipe

Hi,I have noticed that when flying the 800/900 models, I get this strange FSP "cycling" effect, the 600/700 does not seem to have this issue.What happens is, when in external or VC view, the fps will be at a steady 60fps, then after a few seconds cycle down to 20fps, then back up to 60, this causes a wierd "speed up, slow down, speed up" in the views.As I said previous, the 600/700 doesn't seem to exhibit the same issue, and its not something that effects any other plane.Any ideas?Dan.

I have a few problems with the pmdg 600-700 2D cockpit when loaded.1. On the main panel you have a purple track line that the aircraft follows to its next way point etc, the problem is instead of the purple track line been at 360 degress or straight up and down its on and angle, so the aircraft is always tracking on and angle.2. On the mcp panel you have a knob that allows you to change the mode from app, map, pnl etc, when I go flying on the internet and I select anything pass APP on the knob on the mcp panel while inside the cockpit becomes lagged, it as thou flight slim doing 1 fps, but when you go to the outside of the cockpit everything is find. Just reinstalled the latest 737. I was at KMIA last night, and I tried putting 36R in for runway, and it said it wasn't in the database. I tried all the runways for that matter at KMIA, same thing. I did install the latest exe NAV Database prior to this.Any ideas?

The Author of FS Navigator which is a great program I use all the time, has annonced on the forum on their web site that the program will be available "with an activation key" , for download , starting next week. He apparently is retiring and this is his parting gift to everyone. Good way to save +$40. www.fsnavigator.com

Hello gentlemen,I have upgraded to the 800-900 version of the NG a few weeks ago.I have noticed that the ACARS is now functional in the FMC. But try as I might, I don't know how to use it:-hmmm I can't find anything in any of the manuals or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. Can someone tell me what it does and how to use it? HiI am using FS2K2, WIN XP Home, PMDG 737-600/700 base packWhere are the main gear bay doors ?I have assigned concorde nose extend/retract as stated in the manual and (in stairs models)the stairs do extend but will not retract ?Can the FMC not load an FS2K2 flight plan, the PSS FMC can ?In CMD mode when using V/S to capture an ALT restriction in the ALT window, upon capture the a/c levels off and ALT HOLD in shown in the PFD but the ALT HOLD light does not light up on the MCP. I've just received the 800-900 series and am only beginning to explore it. The VC is most impressive!!Now don't think I'm complaining already(:-(), but I can't get the red beacon lights, top and bottom to function correctly on the 800-900 planes.On the 600-700 series, they are perfect, as far as I am concerned. There you get a burst of red light, accompanied by reflections from the top of the fuselage, and off the wing roots.On the 800-900 series, the beacon glows a dull red, with no reflections from the top of the fuselage, although the wing reflections appear to be the same as on the smaller aircraft. Hi All, I have noticed that when I shut down the lovely NG (only tried in the -800 version) after having completed the parking and securing and shut-down check lists (as Mr. Metzinger gave them in his excellent tutorial), the flaps start to drop. Is this a reflection of real life? I have never noticed parked aircraft having the flaps deployed, so I guess I must be doing something wrong. Finally, I am searching for my finest hat such that I can take it off and bow in appreciation of the PMDG team and the beta testers! You are truly amazing, guys!:-waveBoazEKCH
