  2. After a flawless FMC flight KIAD-KBOS in the default PMDG 800NG, I turned around on the ground, built a plan for KBOS-KEWR and took off in the same a/c. It had a rocky start and ended badly. I was unable to re-arm LNAV on the ground prior to liftoff and I was unable to activate it until passing about 5000' after I'd activated VNAV successfully. Climb to cruise went fine and cruise went fine too.Descent started great but shortly after it commenced, the FMC waypoints data for KEWR ILS 22L fell out of the FMC for no apparent reason and gave me crazy readings for approach waypoints. I re-input the data and this caused a massive and clearly erroneous deviation to occur in …

Folks:I bought FS2Crew (great, BTW) and I have been much more "procedural" ever since. However, I can't make the -8/900 do something that FS2Crew directs.I set V2 in the MCP window prior to T/O. Then, following liftoff, FS2Crew states to "click the MCP speed increase button once so V2+20 appears in the MCP speed window."Any idea what they're talking about? The only button I know of is the SPD button, and when I press the SPD button nothing happens. So... when I press it a second time, all hell breaks loose because I go into SPD hold at like V2+20 and the A/T pulls the power back, and.... well, I'm sure you can imagine that I get ###### because my procedurally correct T/…

I've search the forum and can't find anything on this subject, so I'm hoping this isn't a duplicate. When flying my 737NG in South Africa, the frequencies for ATIS at most of the airports are in the 115 range and lower (FAGG - 112.5, FACT 115.7, FADN 112.0, FAJS 115.2, FAEL 114.5, etc). However, I can't get the PMDG radios to tune to that range of frequencies - 118. something is the lowest I can get to before it cycles to 135 or so (Can't remember the exact ranges at the moment). But, basically, it leaves me without ATIS information. Is there anyway to change the COM1/COM2 frequency ranges so I can get to these frequencies?

CRT or flat panel?I think for the money you'd spend on a CRT 21" you could buy a 17" or maybe even a 19" flat panel if you look for deals. Just make sure you have at least a 2-3 year warrenty on the back light.Mike Brown

Hi fellow pilots, I wanted to know if creating a flight plan through fs build with a sid star departure and approach and loading this flight plan within fs9 make the atc direct me the proper headings to fly these types of approaches. I understand its limited to a certain degree but an fs9 plan is perfectly directed and followed by the fmc and so is an fsbuild plan but what about sid star????P.S. About KMIA, the fmc gives me an error about a rwy at Miami intl I forget which runway, what is causing this error? I do have the latest Airac cycle and Sid/Star dated (0411)

If you have installed the Dreamfleet 737 merge in FS2004, one of the things you have to do to make it work in FS2004 is add a line to the FSUIPC config. The line is "MakeItVersionFS2002=Yes" under the General options. This will make the FS2004 option in the PMDG Styles menu unavailable (grayed out). Just remove the line and everything works just fine.Hope this helps some folks

I have tried every combination of ZFW, reduced N1 climb power, reduced target speed during climb and reduced OAT.Acceleration from V2+10 to 250 is normal - 800 to 2000 v/s, depending on the parameters above. When the speed reaches 250, the pitch increases and the climb rate rockets to 3000

I really need help.I have tried selecting the Southwest Airlines aircraft as they are supposed to have a different panel configuration on the PFD. However all aircraft are the same. The display is different due to it was easier to cross train Southwest pilots on the -600,-700.Is there a switch somewhere that re-configures the panel??or is this not even available. I saw a picture of this panel that was on the review of this software a Avsim. Many thanks for your help on this.DJ

Hi - I remember reading on a review somewhere about the 737ng that it is possible to have charts attached to the pilots' (and maybe co-pilots') clipboard in the virtual cockpit.I do remember seeing a chart or plan file somewhere in the aircraft folder within fs9/pmdg 737, but would someone please explain how I can get a chart to show on the clipboard in the vc?CheersRick

Hi,I have some difficulty making routes of flight for my PMDG 737. Programming FMC is no problem, but when it comes to the most importing thing; inserting SIDS, STARS and transitions, it's problematic.First, which waypoints do you use on your route? Do you go to map view in FS2004 and then choose some waypoints that are most logical for the route? Ok, then you put these waypoints on your route page after you chose the SID and transition for the appropriate runway. My problem is that most SIDS and transitions do not line up nicely with my chosen route. Most of the time, they go totally in another direction, making my flight longer than it needs to be. However, in the tuto…

I have noticed recently that my on a climb ( in any aircraft ) i have been having ascent problems. When i get to about 28,000FT (roughly) my plane will need to be at a pitch of at least 30 degrees to get any climb at all, and about 25degrees to maintain altitude; (at a speed of around 350-360KIAS); and i am quite sure speed is not a problem as going in the Koch Concorde i also own, at 500KIAS, i get the same problem. Is the a patch or something available? Help :(_____Alex Hnapikos

I was in my -800 enroute to KDEN. During the approach the entire region was in near white-out conditions (snow storm). This approach was going to be a classic CAT III for runway 7. I broke through the clouds with a 1/2 mile at best of vis when all of a sudden at around 100 feet I noticed that I was all of sudden pitching over for a nose dive into the dirt just before the runway threshold. After a rather quick and loud "Oh SH#T!" I yanked the yoke as far back as it would go. I avoided a disaster and landed on the 'piano keys'....a hard landing at that. Not sure what happened...I know I had the auto pilot set up correctly. When I yanked on the yoke I heard the "auto-pilot di…

Hmm, just gone through the checkout process, registered an account and so on. I entered my card number in and at first could not see a security number, so left that field blank and clicked 'OK'. Following a 'this transaction has been denied' message (note it did not actually give me a reason for this) and saw on the back of the card hidden from view the security number, so entered it in. After confirming and clicking OK this time, it came up with another error saying 'there is already a duplicate transaction'... what I don't get is, if the previous one failed, then why is it on record and not allowing me to try again? Thanks, Jack.

Hello,do you know why I found very difficult to perform a correct speed descend (250 KIAS) without using speedbrake even if the rate of descend is not so high (about 1500-2000 Ft/min)? I think that the effect of the speedbrake is too low. It practically doesn't reduce speed at all.

I have FS9, XPpro, etc.Anyway when climbing out I engage the autopilot and the EFIS displays CMD and hdg and alt hold but the aircraft does not follow the flight director guide (see attached image). In other words the autopilot is on and the lights (see attached image) and EFIS show it engaged, but it does not send the commands to the aircraft and the aircraft just follows the joystick commands. This happen regardless of whether I set up the FMC fr…
