Hi all in the forum. After many successful online flights I wanted to try a busy airport to test my skills. I failed miserably.I was fully established on localiser and glideslope just becomming active, and wanted to do an autoland, all was looking good for a night flight, then the controller asked me to turn away because of more priority traffic which I tried to comply with, so my question is....how do I disable the localiser and glide slope capture and still maintain autopilot control so I make a heading turn and capture the localiser next time round? I felt that whilst i had the autopilot on and loc captured it had priority over the heading change i tried to make. I did…

Greetings,After using the 600-700 series a while, I added on the 800-900 series and have a couple questions about some changes I noticed.-With a 900 series plane:The FMC no longer automatically computes take-off speeds. I'm assuming this is by design, but I just want to make sure.FMC computed landing speeds seem very high. Alway at least 195 knots (30deg flaps) even when landing with a minimum of fuel. Again maybe this is OK, but it seems like the attitude of the plane at that speed and flap setting is too far forward. I usually end up reducing speed for a ~3 degree pitch landing.Lastly, the tape speed indicator never goes below 45 knots even when on the ground with no wi…

Hi,Recently I came accross this site: http://www.shuttlesim.be/ and downloaded the space shuttle simulator. I was surprised by this outstanding simulation. Be aware it is highly complex but worth the learning curve.Hope this will keep you busy waiting for the PMDG B-747-400.MichaelPS. I recently purchased the PMDG Beech 1900D and I love it. The only small problem I'm having is with the cockpit door. When I try to open it it works perfectly but when I try to close it nothing happens. Any ideas?

Since the different "sounds" that ship with the default PMDG 737NG have dissimilar volume levels (including some ear-bleeders), I have edited those sound files to reduce the volume on some sounds and increase it on others in an effort to reach a better and more balanced "sound" experience. For instannce, my approach calls (2500, 1000, 500, 400, etc) are now much lower [volume] than before, at a similar volume level than the takeoff "80 knots" voice callout.Does it go against the PMDG end-user license to alter those files and offer them to other legitimate PMDG users?Kerke :-waveKMIA

Folks:Yesterday, I was departing KJAC (Jackson Hole WY). Runway length is ~6300 ft and the airport altitude is ~6500 ft. The was an 8 kt headwind.737-800, weight 151K lbs. Max T/O Power, Max Climb power.I've been trying to follow procedures, so I've started using the PMDG manuals to confirm that I have enough runway. (Reference the PMDG Takeoff Manual for the -800.)So:Required (adjusted) T/O Field Length = 6000 ft (headwind compensation)Rwy Length Limit Wgt = 6000ft, <13C = 181.9K lbsSo, my weight of 151K is well below the limit weight of 181.9K; I should have plenty of runway, right???V-speeds:Here's what the manual says (Dry rwy, flaps 5, wgt 151K) (use interpolat…

Hi, last night i was flying from Midland to Houston Intercontinental and when I was pre-flighting the plane I looked at my wing view and moved the yoke all the way to the left and the ailerons and spoilers were VERY slow I had to hold the yoke to the left for about 15 seconds before the aileron was in its full up position I checked hydraulic pres. and it looked fine I was running power off of the APU with both elec hyd pumps on then I switched to grnd power and same thing. then I pushed back and started the engines and flight controls were still very slow but right when i released the parking brake to taxi to the runway they went back to normal. Could someone tell me wh…

Hi,Is there any way you can choose the volume for the TCAS voice separately from the other PMDG voice messages, ie RA callouts, Vspeds etc? I find the TCAS volume to be very silent in comparison to the RA callouts for example which makes it very hard to find a suitable volume. Either you have a suitable TCAS volume but the RA callouts are far to loud or otherwise you have a suitable RA callouts volume but instead you can't almost hear the TCAS voice.Cheers,

I have my B1900 fitted with the RealityXP Jeline2 gauge and I have a problem with the TCAS.If I fly the B1900 off-line and activate the TCAS - no problem. However if I connect to VATSIM and activate it FS9 crashes. The error message gives the realityxp_jetline2 gauge as the problem.I have searched the forum but with no luck on this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Two quick questions please. How do I display both Nav1 and Nav2 DME's at the same time. A recent SID required me to continue runway heading for 2 miles on the ILS freq then turn onto a radial for a VOR beacon. On approach when I have finished with the FMS i.e. changing from FMS LNAV to ATC vectors (heading mode), how do I clear the map screen of the 'pink' route lines, as this looks rather untidy and cluttered when no longer needed. Many thanksGlen Coyne

When flying online and given for example an instruction to descent to FL120 and Speed of 220, what is more important? If I can see that I will not be able to make the FL at the assigned speed, which is more important, that I make the speed or FL? I always ask for high speed clearance, but sometimes don't get it, what is done in the real world?Another question. What is the real world procedure for receivingan instruction and carrying it out. I mean if ATC tells you to turn to heading 250, should I wait to turn until I read back the instructions or turn immediately? What I'm thinking is that if I heard it wrong and started to turn left instead of right, that could be a bad …

Hello! Recently purchased my copy of the 600/700, and am astounded at the detail that has gone into everything, particularly the Virtual Cockpit and FMC! Well done chaps! I do, however, have a small problem that I can't seem to find an answer to; to get accustomed to the aircraft and FMC I decided to follow a guide I downloaded off the PMDG website that included programming the FMC. Everything went fine, taxiied out to the runway, took off, but at 1,000 feet I engaged the autopilot, attempted to engage VNAV and LNAV but received a 'disengage' light of the FMC and neither engaged. Similarly, when attempting to arm the autothrottle it presented me with a disengage and did n…

  24. I know when the 737 first came out, it had a high polly count in the VC. It was later optimized somewhat on a maint. release. I still find that the PMDG 737 uses the most resources of anything I own for FS9 aircraft-wise (a certain scenery company has the honor of having the worst performing software..resource-wise). I find that while the 737 is most flyable as is, it would sure be nice to free up some of the MB's it sucks up on the computer (over 100MB is what FS9 goes up by after loading the 737NG). Any chance of seeing the 744 a little better optimized and/or lower polly count for the VC?
