    Morning all, well it is in NZ...Just thinking out loud here. With the pending (?) release of the 747, I've been giving much thought to the process of downloading this, as it appears the CD version will be months after, and I can't wait!I don't have the luxury of a broadband connection, so when it's released I'll be shooting off around to a mate's place to get my plane. This has got me thinking about the, what's the word, reliability of downloads, especially for these planes.For the above reason, I don't download many large files. The biggest I've managed to get is about 20mb, at a rate of four minutes per mb.So I'll be downloading to a hard-drive, copying to a disk, takin…

    Help! My radio gauges are not appearing. In both the 2D and VC views the radio stack is just a black modeled shape. I have tried reloading the aircraft a few times and get the same thing. I have also noticed that the same thing happens when I load the default FS KingAir. Therefore I have figured is has to be something related to the kingair gauges. I have copied and replaced them from another computer in which the gauges do work - still no luck. I really do not want to have to reload FS as it would take me 6 months to reload and activate all of my payware aircraft. Does anyone have an idea?Thanks(FS9, XP)

    For short flights in the PMDG 737NG, is programming the FMC required or can it be flown just using VOR?Haven't purchased it yet but it looks like a great product.Fred

    One of our PMDG-flying customers has mentioned an excellent tutorial flight which I'd love to try. Any ideas what/where it might be...??By the way, most of our customers who come and fly the full-motion B737NG simulator also fly the PMDG 737 on their PC at home. In fact, last Sunday, all of them did! Our instructor that day (who now flies B744 for Virgin, until recently B737-300/700 for easyJet) said he absolutely shocked how impressively everbody that day flew thew motion sim. A real testament to the quality of the PMDG simulation!

    I currently have an 'analog-type' CH Yoke product and was wandering if it is worth upgrading to the 'USB-type' CH Yoke. Would it be worth it to upgrade even further if there is not that much difference in the (analog vs.USB) type and get another brand?If it is worth it to upgrade to a different brand, does anybody know of a good yoke that would really fit in nicely with the current PMDG 737 NG's? There hasn't been any new releases on Yoke products in quite some time....Maybe there is no need to concentrate on this aspect of the simulation, but I would like to have one that is a little more realistic than the CH analog type that I currently have without putting out an exce…

    I've seen people talk here about restrictions that might be given by the ATC i.e cross xxx at 12000. Is this just "real world talk" or does it apply to the sim as well ? Because fs ATC never gives me restrictions. It could be that people were talking about flying vatsim or another ATC program though, but just to clear thing up for me....Thanks aheadOren

    Hi,I use my joystick's throttle lever, which is one for both engines, but sometimes on touchdown or on the taxiway after landing the thrust of #2 engine stays at about 25% thrust while I can only control #1 with the joystick lever, so the plane tends to turn to the left and I can only hold the plane on the run- or taxiway by steering against it almost fully. Does anyone know what im doing wrong ? or is this a bug ?thanksSteve

    I know that with the PMDG 737NG you have to press the master fire warning light to stop the bell ringing. But it seems that on the real aircraft releasing the test switch will already stop the bell (by what I've heard from other sources).How does the fire warning system test work on the real 737NG?RegardsThomas

    Hello All,Just a few questions/ideas; I wondered if the exterior model of the 747 will feature new xml effects, like wing flex dependant on lift, boggies that remain parallel with the tarmac etc..... I'd love to see wipers that remove rain in the VC, also a keyboard assignment to select idle reverse thrust would be very useful too.(Can't wait to see some updated screenshots!) ;-)Regards,Paul

    I've been flying this thing for a long time, but my old computer wouldn't allow weather and the PMDG to play together. Now on the new system. AS2004.5 - latest build and PMDG 600-900.My question is how do you plan for the active runway, especially if the surface winds are virtually blowing across the runway from one side or the other, and not favoring a particular direction. Also, what about those airports that have three different runway directions, not just two?My other issue is with IFR weather. Most of us, at least myself like to fly our own realistic approach, like DPs or IAPs, since ATC sucks. Well, just now flying into KSLC the weather was snow at 800 ceiling …

    Gentlemen,As promised, here is round 2.Entered the flight plan with several waypoints. After the initial climb, ATC directed me to a waypoint not on my flightplan. I entered this at the top of the LEGS page, and got the discontinuity warning. If I were to make the next waypoint as per my flightplan, I would be backtracking. Therefore, I picked a waypoint along my planned route that was at least in the direction of the airport, but I still flew a very indirect route.What does ATC expect a pilot to do when directing to a waypoint not on the plan? I use VoxATC, not the FS9. Is the entire flightplan scrapped? Once directed outside the plan, with no further instructions…

    I couldn't resist downloading the 1900 for the price. Now I have a 23MB compressed file. When going to unzip I get a message saying "NO FILES TO UNZIP". When going to open, I get "INVALID OR CORRUPT FILE". I have downloaded this twice with the same result. I have also posted this on the PMDG site.     Would someone direct me to a resource to better explain the functioning of the FMC? I've printed and read all available with the PMDG. I created a flight from KALB to KISP, and entered all appropriate data into the FMC, including all waypoints. Once airborn and directed by ATC to resume own navigation, I entered LNAV and VNAV on the MCP. The AC did not seem to follow the DIRECT TO Athos as entered. Regardless, I received vectors to follow, and switched to HDG and entered the courses.I completed the flight without difficulty, but other than managing the V speeds and climb thrust, I'm not quite sure of what value the FMC was, at least on this particular flight.Any gui…

    Hello all,I have been working with the FMC using the tutorial in the product manual (intro flight). After engaging the FD, for some reason the auto thrust would not engage on the auto pilot. Since I spent the time programing the FMC I took off anyhow, needles to say the auto thrust still could not be engaged and the auto pilot could not be engaged (it kept buzzing off)... Story of my life with the new product.I realize there is a lot to learn with this pruduct and I do appreciate the compexity (it makes the standard MSFS2004 procedures look a little like and arcade game when it comes to the detail, no bash on MSFS cause I love the program).
