747-400F can have a MTOW close to 900,000 lbs. Yet I have a hard time finding runways capable of handling this kind of weight. Even the the most modern KDEN lists 850,000 (www.airnav.com) as its maximum. Interestingly I just checked PANC (Anchorage) which sees a lot of 747-400Fs and some of its runways can handle full 900,000. Well, at least there is one! Hi guys... I've been looking for the past few days now for a comprehensive reading regarding the 737NG's electrical systems. I have some pretty basic questions that aren't adequately answered (to my needs)by the famous UK Boeing 737 Aircraft Systems site. For example, it states there that the TR Unit converts AC into DC. However I'm such a leiman regarding these things that I needyet to learn the difference between AC and DC and why an aircraft needs such a TR unit. I'd also like to know what IDGs, buses and so on are. I can fly the plane alright but I'm embarassed by the fact that I don't know it's workings much like a doctor who doesn't know a thing about physiology. So…

Will the Uplink action through the FMC be available on the Queen? I am guessing not since the dispatch centre is on hold. Also with all the Captain and FO views, will there actually be some kind of interface that presents a captain or the First officer in the cockpit, or are you going to leave it up to FSCrew.I could never expect a precise weather on the EICAS from any other developer, but is it going to be present on the 744? Hi folks,This weekend I completed a 'mid-range' trip: Denver to Anchorage (2,000nm) which with approx. 70% load, required full fuel.The thing is, I notice Alaska operate Miami to Anchorage (3,500nm) and wondered whether this is possible with PMDG?Using the loadmaster tool I pulled the loads for the mixed class -700 down to 4/71, plus baggage, giving a payload of 24,000lbs.However, this was with no 'minimum landing fuel'.So is there a standard figure for 'minimum landing fuel'?And are trips of this length possible? I read a couple of threads from a year or two ago that made me wonder if not.Cheers,Chris.

According to the FMS manual, the active rwy information is supposed to be displayed on the CDU Approach page. In my installation this doesn't occur. Any idea why?:-(

Hi Gents,Apologies if this has been asked before, feel free to tell me to search if it has!With regard to the upper EICAS display on the 747 project will you be modelling both the N1 type and EPR type displays i.e.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/333331/L/andhttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/075313/L/Its not a do or die thing for me but I ask because another developer's recent release models the variants as far as external models only due to no-one yet being able to correctly simulate EPR behaviour at different altitudes (or so I'm told), is this something you guys have cracked?I'd be interested to hear from you, thanks.

Hello All -I recently found it necessary to do a complete re-install of FS2004, along with my favorite add-ons which include PMDG 737s. I installed the 600/700 with the update, then the 800/900 - everything appears fine - but when I fire up FS2004, and load the PMDG 737-800 for example, I get the warning beep and I can find the reason for same that will silence it? Any ideas???? I do not remember having this problem in the past. I start up cold and dark and the beep starts as soon as I turn on the battery switch. Thanks for any help. Kevin

I'm now convinced that I have somehow corrupted my 737-800 (Winglets-VC-VirtualCabin) SU1 model (mdl) file. I started noticing that my gauges were missing in the virtual-cockpit in the 738-Winglets/VC/Virtual-Cabin flavor only. I went round-and-round thinking it was a guage or a panel problem but everything else on every model is working fine.I finally narrowed it down to one common-denominator and that is the model file in the model.WLVCCAB directory. The problem is, I can't extract only this mdl file from the SU1 update package and it won't let me install it again because 8-900 SU1 package has already been applied. i know there are those that dont want to wait 10 mins for the IRS to align. and then there are those that dont mind. i happen to be a realism freak, so if it takes 10 mins, i will wait 10 mins. and i was wondering, if we will have the option to choose, like on the LD767, where we can select either a setting that will take the IRS 2 mins or the full 10 mins? thanksAdam

I read and read, and I could not find these answers.I am preparing to purchase the PMDG 737NG. I have been getting my money's worth out of a few other aircraft, but No I am ready to buy this one.Is the 800/900 a stand alone product?If I get the 600/700 and the 800/900, will the cockpit (panel) graphics of the 600/700 be updated to the nicer graphics of the 800/900? I will probably get the B1900D while I am there. Can't beat the price.Thanks for the help. I have been reading the manuals all day and I am looking forward to getting started.Dennis

have installed the newest version of Gatekeeper. When I clicked on the "Gatekeeper.exe" file nothing happened. I was then told - in the FSBuild forum - to create a short-cut for GateKeeper and then open the properties of that short-cut and in the "Target" box add a space and 1005 after the filename. I've done that allthough in my windows version the box is called "Destination" and after the change I made contain this: "C:ProgrammerGateKeeperGateKeeper.exe 1005"The result is that I get the Gatekeeper program-window for about half a second just beeing able to catch a glimpse of a few buttons (Set parking/Open/Quit/?). But the window does not stay opened and I can't reach to…

With the 747 coming to a "wrap", now is a really good time to raly PMDG to do a larger airbus product, such as a A340-500. Or maybe a A330. How many more boeings do we really need >???? There are so so so many It seems to me this is would be highly sought after. So post here! that way we can really get there attention! I just had a few questions about the queen and here they are:-Will it be possible to turn on the landing lights seperately (Ie. INBD LDG LIGHTS without OTBD LDG LIGHTS)???-Will there be a pushback module like LDS uses????-And will the ground power need to be requested by ground crew, so that we won't need to set the park brake as with the NG???Thanks,PS. Hi,When on final approach to an ILS runway on autoland, pressing the second computer does not clear the "single channel" yellow message.The approach still goes Ok and the message eventually clears on its own. Any solution to the problem welcomed. Tony Merry

I downloaded the 800/900 PMDG 737 back on 12/2004 and it states the following: PMDG Options module Ver 2.1 Service Update 1 for 737 NG 600/700/800/900 14th July 2004.....Do I or don't I have the dome light functionality that will enable me to see the VC during the daytime hours when the sun is directly or almost directly in front of me.I tried downloading the file "vcpmdgng.zip" from the avsim library, but there must be something wrong with the site or the file server as nothing is downloading and the file is only 2kb. I have DAP for an accelerator and I don't know why it's not downloading this file. Is there something I'm doing wrong or can somebody tell me what lines to…

Is there a dome light in the 737NG to brighten the panel textures? I think the 1900C has it, but I can not find it in the NG manuals.Dennis MitchellPS, Everyone is swooning over the 744 news flash, and I am still working on the 737.
