Just a small question about the cost index in the FMC. I know that individual airlines set their own CI dependant on their needs, but I am confused as to whether a lower percentage is more cost efficient or a higher percentage is more cost efficient. eg. is 10% more/less cost efficient than say 80%? What do most people set it to. I'm sorry if this is a bit gabled, but....Thanks for your helpDavid Winters

Hello everyone,I have two monitors and would like to if possible have the PMDG 2D cockpit on one monitor and then on the other monitor just create a new view in FS2004 that is in the virtual cabin of the wing so i have a wing view the whole time aswell as also being able to see the cockpit. Who needs costly scenery prgmsI'm so busy concentrating on flying the darn plane - dials - speed - altitude etc etc all I want is an airstrip to take off from and an airstrip to land on. Forget the scenery, I never use it :) Badbiggles - downunder

Please can someone help me. When I am flying at night using the PMDG 737 the overhead panel does not go completel dark at night like the remainder of the cocokpit at night. hence , i end up flying with half the cocopit illuminated ( the above Panel) and remainder in the expected darkness. How can I recticfy this?RegardsPaul

I'm looking to get GPWS callouts in the 1900c? Is there any way to do it? Or a working TCAS system? Anything to make the great 1900c more realistic! It's a great change from the automated 737 but wears the "express" titles proudly!

I guess I have written ten or so posts after buying and installing the new generation PMDG 737. When I installed the aircraft I went to FS page and created a flight (KLAX to KSAN), then choose a downloaded livery American Airlines 737-800. Now being completely ignorant of FMC, I merely checked in with ATC, received my clearance, connectd with ground and got runway to which I taxied. Then tower cleared me to takeoff and ATC directed me to KSAN and an ILS landing on runway 9.It was nice and all that but not as interesting as using my RFP 747. When I mentioned this fact on this forum about half the world yelled at me and said I wasn't using the wonderful facilities of PMDG. …

Hi guys,1) I am asking myself if you listen to ATC-chatter while you don`t fly the PMDG-simulation (or for FS2K4 background-chatter) and if you can recommend some good URLs for that?2) I read a year or so ago that there should be a site where you can listen to JFK-airport ATC (Tower, Approach) controller *together(!)* with viewing the JFK-air traffic (approaches, departures, enroutes) at an additionel ATC-Radar map of the vicinity of JFK which is been displayed parallel (It should look like the real scope in the real ATC...:)Do you know if this URL realy exist (I found nothing like that)? I was just wondering, if i know the NG quite well, ie having read the manual back to front, and having done many flights in it, will the 744 be quite alike? E.g. will the FMC be basically the same layout, and the same startup procedures and basically the same overhead layout? Which features are alike and which differ greatly?

Dear Sirs,Awhile back, on the 747 product page, listed features included the PMDG Dispatch Centre although recently this has disappeared. Flying the 747, long haul, really requires wind data to be entered into the FMC for accurate simulation.If there is no dispatch centre are there any provisions for wind data for long haul flyers without buying other software?Cheers,PaulP.S. ive been flying since mid morning now its 10pm and ive just taken off from Fiji to Honolulu and i wont arrive till 2am, thats 15hrs of continous flying in the pmdg, i simply cant get enough from this 737/800!!!:-lol :-lol :-lol

As with all aircraft, Boeing has a million and one customer options available. PS1 handled this through a configuration file.Are there plans to support this in PMDG's Queen? If not, understandable (graphic panels and such) but which version of the toys happen to be in the aircraft?It would be helpful to bone up on the right version of the systems while waiting for the first flight.Ray

Hello,I am new to the forum, so I hope this is not too much of a stupid question. My question is that I wish to set my barometric pressure so that I can use the QNH (hectopascals) information provided by ATC within the Radar Contact programme and not 'Altimeter' (inches of mercury) information provided by ATC FS2004. I have looked through the forum and cannot see a thread for this topic, so apologies if there is one and have also read the PMDG manual. In the manual it suggests that there is a simple rotating two position outer ring on the Barometric Reference Selector. I really need to install this. I have the 4 series that came with PMDG 800/900 but I am afraid to install an upgrade given what seems to be a complicated if not hazardous process that is needed to install it. There seem to be any number of horror stories on thsi forum about that. Does anyone know if there is an automated programme that does this sort of thing reliably? Reason for this is that I have found a magnificent route planner suggested in another forum that does wonderful world wide flightplans but it uses the 0505 cycle. hello folks out there im wondering when i go into windowed mode and dock the pedestal, the radios, and the spot plane view and the FMC over to my second monitor that i can only resize all windows but the fmc.when i move the FMC over to the other screen it takes up half the screen and i cannot resize it, to where i want it all the others will resize just fine.can anyone out there help me.Thanks.............Robert

I thought it prudent to brush up on my B747-400 procedures and glass cockpit in preparation for the release of PMDG's offering. I installed PS1.3 on my new win XP machine and have it working except for the continuous engine sounds courtesy of VDM sound. Even with the limited "pics" disclosed so far, I have noted several differences (a bigger glare shield LOL) based upon airline type and configuration. It should be fun to "qualify" on PMDG's version!Any other PS1.3 users "practicing" before the release? :)Bob...

Hi guys.Simple question. I fly online alot with the two biggest organizations around: ivao and vatism. Both have recently developed breakthrough connection interface programs that make online simming very simple. I have noticed that vatsim's squawkbox permits online traffic to be displayed on my 737NG's TCAS on the MAP/ND. However, the same does not hold true for ivao. They have a separate window that can be opened (like a map view for example) which shows surrounding traffic on a stand-alone tcas program, but I do not receive the traffic on my ND/map. And yes, TCAS on the EFIS is selected "on" and the the xponder is set to TA/RA. So I would like to know if there's anythi…

Hi,Can someone briefly explain reserves, mostly how do you know what number to put in the FMC. I have a private pilot's knowledge of reserve fuel and how much should be carried, but not much more. For example if I am carrying 5k reserve fuel, what number would I enter in the FMC?Thanks,Jeff
