Ok this question is not strictly related to the PMDG B747-400, however the number of "Old Timers" and real pilots here at the forum might know the answer to this one, and based on the various requests/comments people here want it accurate ;-)I would like to know the order by which the various stages of the pre-flight (before takeoff) is handled and if possible when they occur (how long time before the takeoff). I realize these are not fixed times, however ballpark-figures (e.g. for the B747-400) would be nice.I guess the first step is at the dispatcher getting information regarding weather, flightplan, Fuel/Cargo/Passenger load, but since the Captain can request additiona…

Hi guys,I don't know if this has been asking already (if so, I'm sorry), and I know this is not a "as real" function, however, on other publisher Airbus A330-340, it's a great function for long long flight's and that is: Pause at TOD !!Will have some kind of feature like this? On long flights, this would be great, since sometimes I let flight go on, and on, went to sleep or to work, and not to be "worried" about plane overpassing the destination!!!!I wish THE 767 that came out had this!!!BTW: PMDG you rock! IMHO, you are the most professional of all aircraft publishers. There are 1 or 2 that comes close, but taking all aspects of the business in consideration, for me you …

Greetings I am a new PMDG user and new to this forum so If I make any errors please be tolerant.I fly PMDG 737-600 & 700 in FS2002. During One and Two Channel APP approaches once the glidescope is captured and the APP light is out the VOR/LOC illuminates and I lose the ILS decent profile unless I can quickly recapture the ILS with APP before the AC flies out of ILS capture range. This happens about 3 or 4 times on a ILS approach from about 3,000 ftGrateful for any helpNZPPLJohn Hislop

Will your cabin (through active camera) include poeple on board?Passengers and co-pilot(s) would be nice. The reason that I wrote 2 co-pilots is because for long trips the 747-400 sometimes require 2.Another great feature would be cockpit/FA/FO/and ground control chatter like we hear in Fs2Crew (737NG)or FDC. Great job, Can't wait!!!

Hi,As I posted before, I had a problem with the 737NG and 737-800/900 compatibility, but now I've temporarily removed 737NG so I can enjoy all the features of 737-800/900 without problems and I'd like to say thanks for such a great aircraft to all the guys at PMDG, as I haven't had a chance to say it before. I especially love the way you have modelled the two separate styles of glass-cockpit displays and all the other small customizable display features, nice touch and something that I haven't seen in any other FS aircraft.

Hmmm, I seem to remember posting here to ask if there were any plans to release a 2-d overhead panel for the b1900c. Ofcourse I could be wrong.I WAS wondering if there might be an update that adds the overhead panel and maybe a pressurization panel. I would naturally understand if there were no such plans as the a/c is a bargain at around $15.00 and adding these would probably represent a fair bit of work.Adam

Dear PMDG/PMDG tester,Have you thought of producing a promotional video, much like LDS did for their 767?It would be very impressive to see a CAT III auto land in a strong crosswind, and seeing the rudder movements on the lower EICAS. Or a full IRS alignment or any new features like wind milling engines...Regards,PaulP.S. Have any testers tried a CAT III Autoland yet?

When the Beta team decide to start releasing more pictures and info, perhaps PMDG forum moderators can set up sticky topics for each section (ie systems, exterior, VC, Vcabin and so on)Then the Beta team can post images and comments in there. Perhaps these threads can be locked so that only the beta team can submit info, thus putting it all in one place, free of the OT discussions that come up?That way visitors to the forum can quickly see if any news has been posted before carrying on any discussions they want to?Just a thought anyways. Looking forward to the release like the rest of you and just want to see the info made as easily available as possible (WHENEVER it is …

Since I've only begun to use real weather(AS)recently, it's taken me until now to realise that the NG's altimeter reacts to actual barometric pressure as reported in the current METAR! So, now, when I set QNH at the gate, the altimeter reads the airport altitude MSL.I have to say I received a real surge of pleasure from making that discovery! Once again I remove my(imaginary!)hat in salute to a great aircraft.Best wishes,FrankPS I bet I'm probably the last to discover this....huh? :-)

I do try to keep patient however it is not easy now the this magnificent plane is so close I can smell it, or is it simply my car leaking oil?I do realize that you have only had the Beta for a couple of days so unless you have all called in sick you haven't had time for in depth tests (being a software developer my self I know). However if any of you have had time to look at the failures I would like to hear your oppinion on it: Is an engine fire visible in spot-view (if so, can we see?), does the plane "feel differnt" (system being infected) when shuting down an engine? Also do any of you "dare to" compare it to PS (Presicion Simulator), as far as number/level of systems …

Hi,I asked myself how the correct english (american) terms for those following words are:1) To push large jet-aircrafts back from gate there is a special towing truck necessary. Is there a special (technical) name for such a truck?2) The towing truck needs a kind of a bar (metal) which is fixed at the front wheel of the a/c. What is the correct name of that bar?3) After shutting down the engines of an a/c the marshallers usually put something in front of the center- and front wheels in order that the a/c cannot roll away. What is the correct technical (or colloquial name between a/c mechanics) name for that kind of blocks? Many thanks! :)GreetingsSusan

  19. Hi guys.I need a little help installing an addon on my 737 panels. Today I tried installing Mr. Rob Barendregt's groundhandling gauges v3.2 in my B737 and 738 panels. However I was unsuccessful. The gauge is avalaible in avsim's file library and it makes pushbacks easier and more realistic by adding some voice and easy to use controls. To install it one must simply add some files to the gauges and sound folders of FS9 and edit the panel.cfg by adding some lines to make the gauge and it's popup button visible. I managed to sucessfully install it in some of FS9's dfault aircraft but for unknown reasons I couldn;t get it to work on my PMDG 737s. I followed the readme.txt fil…

I'm curious about how well the Queen handles during taxi? Does it give you a good sense of the size and weight of this beast? How about the view from the cockpit, do you feel how high up you are? How about the perspective when turning? Also how do the engiens sound from the flight deck, especially during taxi and takeoff? Please share your impressions.

Hi PMDG, And the like!A quick question, that I think many people are wondering--Is the 744 actually done completely, 100%?I know we have all seen this wonderful product displayed in this forum, but as of yet I know that nobody has seen a Rolls-Royce/Pratt & Whitney engine variation, as well as the -400D that was also promised.Im sure you guys will deliver a product that exceeds our expectations (as you already have), but I truely ask the question -- is the aircraft completed? ThanksJS
