Hi Guys,Can someone please tell me what this Winglets feature does inside the models menu? I can't seem to find this question answered. I apologize if it is a duplicate. I sort of gathered that winglets might be visible form the VC? OK, so where do we see the "winglets" option. I always had winglets on the exterior view.ThanksShane Lewis

I have it working for the default 747, but this does not work for the PMDG 747. I assume you are using your own functions/routines to program the buttons (in your cockpit). If this is true, is it possible to map these functions/routines to the quadrant. If so, how do I do it or where I can get the info?Thank you! And yes, I did search with the following criteria...chproducts throttle 747ch throttleprogram throttleassign buttons autopilotassign buttons mcpmcp ch throttle 747 mcp assign buttons ch throttle quadrant Murray Wheten

I wanted to know if anyone is going to make a tutorial for the 747-400 the same way that Timothy M. Metzinger did for the 737? I was only able to fly the 737 because of his tutorial and i wasnt able to do much with the manuels that came with the 737. So if there is something out there for me please let me know im itching to buy this plane.

After I installed PMDG 747-400 I cant find an icon that says I can open it. I even opeend FS9 but I couldnt find anything with PMDG in it.

Am I correct in assuming that the autobrake system in the 747-400 only applies wheel brakes, and raises the spoilers? It does not infact apply reverse thrust? I found out the hard way after a 15 hours realtime haul from KLAX to YSSY - landing runway 6L I was waiting for the reversers to kick in and nothing was happening so finally I manually activated the Rev Thrust.

Dear PMDG,I am experiencing the following odd situation with the PMDG 747 1.10: if I create a new flight loading a cold & dark cessna 172 (engines and batteries off) and after I change to the PMDG 747, I can hear NO sound in the cockpit. If I save it and reload it, after about one minute I can hear a sound in cockpit view (battery? electrics? fan? packs?), despite of the fact that battery and external power switches are all off. If I switch on and after switch off the external power button I can obtain the total silence. What's up? Am I making a mistake or is it a bug?Andrea

Hi there guys! I know that this has been asked many times but is there going to be the PW and RR ECIAS displays in the upcomming B744F? Most of us are frustrated to load up a RR or PW powered bird and step into the flight deck to see GE ECIAS displays. Another thing is that the VC FPS are unpredictable and goes up and down. Sometimes it gets as bad as 3 to 5 FPS something that I do not experience with the Level D B767 or PSS B777 VCs. I was wondering if it was some coding error in the PMDG B744 VC? How come it has the worst FPS there? Another thing is that how about a weather radar as we see that PSS has successfully included it in their B777 v3s and looks good the…

I'm just going to make this suggestion that has worked well for me.FIRST LOAD of the PMDG...goto the Default Flight of the Cessna at Tacoma. When it settles go Aircraft > Select aircraft and choose your PMDG 747. Now go World > Goto Airport and take her to where you want to keep her for a while...Choose a Gate. When settled at the gate get out Smitty's tutorial and go through the full closing down drills on the last two pages. Then with it properly Cold and Dark Save it with a title like "PMDG at EGLL Cold and Dark". Shut down FS9.Now restart FS9 and select your saved flight...Go through the Smitty drills from the beginning and load and fly the flightplan. You will p…

As all of you may or may not know, Ted Stevens Intl in Anchorage, Alaska has had its runways changed from 06L/24R and 06R/24L to 07L/25R and 07R/25L. In the FMC I noticed that whenever flying into PANC it would error out and not allow for any procedures or runways. With my changes, they once again work. If you want the corrected procedure file, please grab it from:http://chicago054.server4free.de/jeff/misc/PANC.txtRight click on the link, save it under YourFS9DirectoryPMDGSIDSTARS directory. If you're flying the PMDG right now, you'll have to restart FS9. If you're in FS9 and haven't yet loaded either PMDG plane, then the procedures files won't be cached into memory ye…

Hi all and excuse me if this question has been posed before. I have the PMDG 737 versions on CD mainly because I was on dial-up. Now, however, I am on broadband so downloading would not be a problem. I have two questions:-1.If I buy the download of the 747-400 and sometime in the future (perhaps 2 or 3 years?) I have, say, a HD failure or something that causes me to lose data and need a re-install how do I go about getting the 747? I cannot imagine a great outfit like PMDG making me pay again so how does it work? Once I pay and download am I able to back it up myself or is there some other trick?2. If I buy the download will I be getting a version that might be prone to t…

Hello PMDG team. I love all of your producys that you have and always fly them. I have some questions about your upcomming MD-11. My main question is about how long it will take. Do you have an estimate of a possible release time. Like maybe Q2 or Q3 of 2006. So i'm just wondering about that. Thanks.

What could cause the FMC to freak out and have a value of -2200000.0 under fuel, and NO distance to destination on the progress page.VNAV is unusable. What causes this? All I did was load flight sim ( default is 100% fuel I assume ), load the panel defaults to cold and dark, turn on battery and external power, reset each IRU knob to off then back to NAV, put in IRS POS, confirm it, then start programming the route in.Some background info:Cargo: 133060Fuel Load: 293226Reserve: 64859TOW: 818374I dunno if because I had 100% fuel and such a heavy load that it freaked the FMC out.Oh, and I have no default flight ( just default MS flight, cessna @ Seattle ) so when I create a f…

I have not had this problem before but, since following the advice to 'Captains' to avoid CTDs, each time I now fire up the 747 I get the IDG Drive Disconnect warnings explained in page 11-12 of the manual. Unfortunately though I cannot seem to clear these by clicking on the button in PMDG/OPTIONS/VARIOUS (which shows EDG rather than IDG!), and clicking on the buttons on the OVH has no effect. Please can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong? Thanks,Mike

Dear Friends:Is there a "START VALVE OPEN" light on the 737NG? If so, where EXACTLY is it? I can't seem to find one. It is useful to see if the light extinguishes when the starter has the cutout at 46% N2 and the duct pressure begins to rise. Only thing is, I can't seem to find the light anywhere! Thanks.Chris Catalano

Hello! Here are four questions I couldn't answer myself...1.) Why does the FMC "PROGRESS" page 1 calculates 15 minutes from start to a position of 500 ft altitude when it needs only about one minute to reach that position?2.) The "PROGRESS" page 1 shows the estimated remaining fuel. After flying a HOLD it was about 1.800 kgs less than before. Is it possible that the FMC disobeys the holding when it calculates the remaining fuel although the holding is part of the flighplan from the beginning?3.) After landing I got the message "FUEL DISAGREE - PROG 2". The "PROGRESS" page 1 showed a calculated number almost equal to the EICAS FUEL. The TOTALIZER "PROGRESS" on page 2 showed…

Hi,the picture shows the PFD during a landing with flaps 25. The FMC-APPROACH page instructs me to take 160 knots as the reference speech, but the PFD shows a REF between flaps 20 and 25. What's the reason. Anybody knows?

Hi Waldo,1. You could use MS sound recorder to reduce the volume of the alarm sound file. Sound recorder is located via Start | Programs | Accessories | EntertainmentThe file will be under the FS sounds directory in a PMDG747 subfolder.***Make sure you save a backup of this file! Any problems borne out of modifications isn't covered by support.***2. Assuming you are using VNAV to manage your climb, cruise altitude and descent, then you will often find the aircraft will creep ahead of the commanded speed. Either use the speedbrakes intermittently to curb the speed or better still you can click on the centre of the MCP speed knob to enter Speed Intervention mode. Then dial …

Guy's I just came back from the ATOP program in Houston which was an AWESOME experience! we flew the 800-900 simulator and thanks to the PMDG team it really helped me out with procedures and cockpit flows. I will for sure be flying the PMDG as much as possible now that i have a better feeling of the aircraft, the flows of startup and so on. We got to do 4 approaches, landing simulated emergencies, stalls, steep turns and 2 CAT3 approaches rvr 600 feet. The autoland is just unbelievable! anyway you guys ROCK by putting this simulator together and making an already big fan an even bigger fan.
