    I have been having problem with the pmdg 747-400 since i installed it. I am supplying a picture to show what the cockpit looks like when the power is on. There are things missing in the display. also when i start the sim i do not have a virtual cockpit or anything unless i go to the pmdg options menu and look for the virtual cockpit box. Even though the box is already checked i have to take the check away then put the check back in in order to have a virtual cockpit. This is everytime i start the sim. I have uninstalled the pmdg 747-400 thinking that a fresh install would fix the problem but it doesnt. Does anyone know what i can do to fix these problems???

We're trying very hard to find a common link here between all the people that are experiencing the issue.First, please provide your full system hardware specifications to the best of your knowlege. (motherboard, CPU, RAM type and amount, graphics card.)     I have 4 liverys with blurriness issues. All 3 uniteds.IberiaThey look very blury on Low global texture setting.I believe this is because someone forgot the -nomip code when converting. My Anti 32bit cents.

    Can sombody please explain to me the exact procedure for a take off with out using VNAV with regards to engine settings ,accell height ect ect. Am i right in thinking that you hit THRUST mode at accell height to initiate climb thrust?thanks kav

    Hi everyone, I have the PMDG 747-400 with the latest update installed. I'm trying to do the tutorial from KLAX TO KEDW using the instructions here:http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/I carefully set up everything as instructed, and called for a pushback when instructed to do that. I set the pushback at 30 metres, followed by a 90 degree turn to the left, as per the guide. The plane went back the proper distance, turned 90 degrees but then to my surprise continued to reverse! The pushback guys voice comes on saying their all done and their disconnecting, the captain says ok but yet my plane keeps going backwards!     Note: I am hijacking Alain's post to highlight a couple KEY issues fixed in this version:--6. A long-standing bug is fixed in the wind smoothing algorithm which could occasionally make the actual wind effect at the aircraft 180 degrees opposite to that shown as the ambient wind (e.g. by Shift+Z). Additionally this fix makes the wind direction written to offset 2DE0 have the correct effect at the aircraft.--10. Wind gusts set through the New Weather Interface (NWI) are now limited to prevent outrageous variations. Any gust value specified above 30 knots is limited to 8 times the layer

    Hi All,On the "fuel load planning" sheet of the manual its says "for every 10000 deviation above or below 475000lbs, add / subtract fuel burnout correction.My question is, I was doing a ferry the other day, where my planned landing weight was in the region of 442000lbs. Over a planned 6.3hr at F370, does this mean i must subtract approx 20760lbs from my flight plan fuel. This is how i understand it, however when i entered these figures into the FMC, i got insufficient fuel warnings all the time, i had to eventually lower my reserves value to get rid of the warnings. were my calculations wrong? am i not understanding the burnout correction correctly?Jason

    Hi,Uhm.. Just three quick questions...Since I installed the 1.10 Update, my Fuel Temp and TAT Temp is always the same? Previously, my feul temp was always arround 6 degrees and TAT varied (obviously). Now, they both are constantly the same, at TAT value... ???Secondly, regardless of what settings I choose for the TCAS in the PMDG Options menu, the majority of planes do not show up on my TCAS? Quick examples.... Got 1 plane in visable range, TCAS reports more (in CLOSE proximity). Got allot of planes in visable range, TCAS shows only one or two or three..Lastly, for the first time since I got the Queen, I now have a 'NO TDZ' in my main PDF... Can anyone shed some light…

    Hello to all the Queen flyers.Yesterday I fancied doing a short EGLL Heathrow to EDDF Frankfurt in the 747-400. I had the SU1 update, AIRAC 0512 and the SID/STAR database from PMDG's website installed. Whilst programming the FMC, I entered EGLL in the Departure airport section, and was immediately greeted by a "RWY 05 err" message. From then on there were no runways or SIDs available for EGLL. Is this a problem with the AIRAC or the SID/STAR file and how would I be able to fix it?

    hello,Before SP1.1 flying (from the VC) I could "grab" a throttle, close it and it would stay closed. Now I am unable to do this. Has some logic changed? Also during an engine fire should the autothrottle automatically disconnect?Thanks,Paul

    Hi allI know this has been discussed before but it REALLY helps if you include the type of A/C you are talking about in the subect of your post. If you have a general question/comment then having no a/c mentioned in the subject would indicate this.This simple task would save people who don't have this a/c spending a lot of time finding topics that are appropriate to them. Sorry for the moan but personally I am not a 747 person and many of the topics being raised are therefore of no interest.That said - A very happy Christmas to all.

    Hello guys.Long time no post. So, I was thinking of flying a across the pond tonight using our good friends the NATs and I remebered I was having an issue with entering them in the FMC. Sometimes when I entered a NAT fix such as say N49W050 the FMC accepted it but in the legs page and in the ND instead of getting a fix with those coordinates I got something like N49W052. Now, I don't know if that was only a display issue with the FMC and ND meaning that the aircraft was actually flying over the correct coordinates (N49W050) and displaying wrong numbers in the right place; or if the coordinates were really off and the plane was flying many miles offset from where I wanted …

    Hi all,I've posted a similar question in the ActiveSky forum, but I am posting here as well for some input.I was flying in the wonderful 737-700 and had a small issue. The wind (as shown below) was almost a direct crosswind.     I set cruise altitude less than the optimum altitude given by the FMC. Yet, in LNAV and VNAV modes, the plane still stalls before it reaches cruise altitude. Is this normal behavior in the real aircraft. This aircraft has been horrible when it comes to climb performance since I have had it. Once above FL230 it is lucky to maintain 500 fpm. My GW was less than 805000 lbs at start up, yet it can't reach cruise altitude of FL310. Does the real 744 with PW engines act this way?

    Hello there!After updating my 747, I don't see any door opening or closing (Ctrl-E). The FS does give me the line that says: Doors opening/closing, but no movement on the plane itself.Everything else seems to be fine... And no matter what I still enjoy this product more then anything else!!!And I am NOT using a pirate copy -or anything stupid like that!Jakob Kosmider

    I bought the 744 a couple weeks ago and have been struggling ever since. I haven't posted a note, but have been reading (online/manuals)! Lots of info, but I am still climbing the difficult learning curve. With not too much info on tutorials...(I saw the site at smithplanet and that helped) I have been working on the does/don'ts of the 744. Tonight is the first flight I made that kinda worked!!!
