I start FS9 in the "create a flight" mode. All at once the PMDG aircraft give me the screenshot attached while loading the navdata. Other aircraft do not. Although the aircraft seem to perform all right, it takes almost a minute for the navdata to load.I have a GeForce 6800 Ultra video card using the 81.95 WHQL driver from the nVidia website. I have AA turned off in FS9, and usually run the card at AA 4x, AF 4x, high quality, and vertical sync on. I have downloaded a new copy of the driver, reinstalled after using a driver cleaner, etc. I have also changed the video card settings, etc. Nothing seems to affect what I see at startup.I have also deleted my fs9.cfg fil…

I've notice alot of advertizing lately involving the widescreen TV's that can also be used as monitors. If I were to purchase say a 24" wide tv/monitor and run the PMDG software on it, would you get the whole widescreen video output on the wide-screen or would you only get a 'boxed' view of the simulation with the sides blanked out??And also, would you be able to read the gauges since the resolution is something lower than 1068 X 768??Regards,noullet

Hi everyone, I load the 737-700 (the virtual cabin version). I've just installed Virtual Cabin 2.0 but I haven't figured out how to use it to walk around the cabin yet. I looked at the keys menu and it says that u press 2, 4, 6 and 8 to move around when numlock is off. I've tried this in both 2D and virtual cockpit but it doesn't do anything. Ok Guys,I guess I found the problem why the airplane is not tracking to the first wpt or is making turns after t.o. instead to stay on lnav. This happened to me also a few times and is related when you select a SID, sometime SIDs are created from the rwy position threshold or not, here is the problem. When you push toga FMC updates position to rwy landing threshold or position shift point is GPS updating is not active. I found that if you activate direct to the first wpt before t.o. this situation not following the magenta does not occur.Would you guys with these kind of complains try first direct to 1st wpt and see if that fixes the problem.

I am curious. Does the real world -400F preserve the staircase between the upper deck and the main cargo deck? If so, will this be represented on PMDG's model? Also will be be able to enter the main cargo deck?Andrew

Hi all,I thought that I would take the time to write a step by step guide on how to program the FMC. I offer the guide as only my experience on what has worked for me. I know when you buy your first "pay-plane" the realism can be a bit overwhelming. Especially when the model is a thorough as PMDG (not to be taken as a plug) Anyway for those newbies that are interested I took 80 or so screenshots to sort of help the cause. In order for me to hear the ATC in the Cockpit Views I have to move the FS9 sound sliders down so much that when I go to spot view I can hardly hear the wonderful roar of the engines. It seems that the cockpit sound is way to loud or the exterior spot view is not nearly loud enough. Is there anyway to fix this?

Dear All:Was reqading Mike Ray's 737 checkride book. In it he talks about CDAP - Constant Descent Approach Procedures. He says that by 2004 these new aproach methods were supposed to be in place. Does anyone know if they are? Apparently it only effects the portion of the approach from the Final Approach Fix until touchdown. Is this something that all pilot's now do universally?Thanks.Chris Catalano

Hello,When I was practicing some emergency descents, I kept thinking: How will it go on the RW flightdeck?So, if there are some real pilots between us I would like to know how the communication with the dispatch and/or Local ATC center is handeled? I can imagine wat a ruch it will be. ;)

Hi,I have a question regarding Anti-Ice on landings.The 2 past flights I made a landing with anti-ice on and on both flights the temp. was around +2C degrees. But when I landed I couldn't select REV. so I slowed down with the wheelbrakes.But three flights ago, I didn't needed the TAI yet and was still possible to select TAI ON. Is this a bug?And since the "Anti-Ice ON" season is started I would like to have the ability to Select REV with TAI ON.Thanks

Hi,Okay, just updated my PMDG 747-400 (latest patch, Dec3) and I cannot stop it from overspeeding in VNAV. I never had overspeed problems before, but now I can't fly it at all.I have disabled ASV, but the problem remains. I do not believe it to be a weather issue as I was watching the winds very closely and nothing changed.(I'm also curious as to why the door assignments were changed to this new, simpler config. I can't open my cargo doors without opening EVERY door on the plane?!?)

From a cold and dark cockpit, the engines, for some reason, won't start. Here are my steps barring all FMC programming.Cold and dark cockpit.Battery switch-onStandby power-AutoAPU-startAPU spools up and when ready, turn on Generators by pushing the gen switches.Packs offAPU bleed air onPull the engine start switches-nothing happensAm I missing a step somewhere. All fuel pumps are on and fuel cutoff switches are on.I followed the checklist as well and still no joy.Goran

Particularly, its part on step climbs during LRCs (long-range cruises) seems to be very useful 'cause guarantees wise fuel consumption which I'm going to test all way down from KJFK to LTBA (Ataturk Intl, Istanbul, Turkey) using real Delta (DAL72) flight plan. First I purchased on line a whole lot of software including most of the PMDG ie737 and 747. Also Active Sky. When everything is loaded I am having regular hangs of about 5 sec durationI realise that with everything loaded and running it will become a drain, however the frame rate is still good at around 20-30fps.System is AMD 3.00 64bit1024mb Ram256mb Radeon video 9600 I thinkAsus K8V SE mthbd80gb PATA HDAny ideas.
