hello,i am new to the PMDG 744 and i must say that i love it! this one beats the 737NG and even the LDS767 (although that one is close to perfect already).anyways, after takeoff the cockpit noise becomes so loud that i have a hard time hearing atc. i have changed the sound settings in the FS and PMDG menu, to no avail. i have searched for that on this forum but couldn't find anybody with the same problem, so i am convinced it is just my settings.needless to say that my atc slider is maxed out. well i can hear it but it doesn't stand out as much as i'd like. is there any way to decrease the cockpit noise?thank you!regards

I was preparing a flight earlier today and I entered all FMC information, including wind data, before saving it. When I loaded the flight later, I noticed that the wind data hadn't been saved so I had enter it again (40+ waypoints...). Also, when I saved I had connected external power that was disconected when I loaded the flight later. Isn't all data saved when you save the panel state?

Hi,I was just fooling around with the bird some more (just reinstalled it after some time away) and it seems like the FMS is being somewhat tempermental?If I go to do a route...and do an Arrival and then want to edit (add waypoints etc) it just says PROGRAM ERROR in the bottom left of FMS. Is that how the real one works? It seems to me that I could edit routes and add things on this with the 737 (and LVLD :-shy).Thanks for the input :).

Hi,Just wondering about the operation of wing lights on the 744 - couldn't find reference in the manual as to when/why they are used. Anyone able to shed some "light"?? (haha!)Also logo lights - I've seen the guys at my airline putting these on during descent at about the same time as the landing lights..... that correct??Had a quick search through the forum and doesn't seem to have been mentioned before - not recently anyway :(Any guidance much appreciated!Adam

Hi,I don't know if I have this issue only but today I was doing some circuits around FAJS and before departure I entered the SID, STAR and IAP. In that STAR is a VECTOR waypoint. When I selected the ZFW in the PERF INIT page and the CI, I then selected my crz alt and the ZFW dissapeared together with the CI. I tried this several times and everytime it happend. Then I deleted the VECTOR waypoint (I thought already that that could be the problem) and everything went fine.Bottom line: Is this a issue or is it something I just discovered?Thanks,PS. Hi!It seems to me, that the load manager will not work?! :S. I'll select 2/3 PAX on tri-class (and other two class settings as well) and it says it's saved for next flight. However, when I look up my ZFW through FS (and Aircraft.cfg) it says the same thing always.Thanks for the help :)

Hi All, I have just done my first test flight, from Warszawa to Frankfurt (EPWA-EDDF), and first off, I was amazed how much closer to reality this already superb simulation had become. I am certainly hoping for further service-updates, and in case they are coming, I hope that my observations will help in ironing out the remaining quirks. I am aware that some observations might stem from special configurations that my airline has - I also didnt try to reproduce each quirk I found, I just write down what happened during the flight that seemed different from the real aircraft. I have tried repeatedly to assign joystick buttons in the PMDG keyboard assignment menu like autothrottle d/c, TOGA, however it doesnt seem to recognize my joystick buttons when i push them, however it can recognize my normal keyboard keys.My joystick buttons can be assigned and work in the default MSFS menu, however the features which i want to assign are not located there, but in the PMDG keyboard assignment menu.Thanks in advance

Since it seems that numerous peole have issues witheh doors (I did for a time as well)Due to the complexity of the Queen, the usual door commands don't work, you need to assign keys to the various doors.Feature Request: logic that will open doors on arrival (engines shutdown and beacon off?) at random- well other than L1 or L2 for catering, cargo/bags and even maintainance. Then logic to secure the doors upon turning on the beacon again or better still a definable timer where the doors will be secured for the departure time, or defined interval. Maybe even a littel sequence where the bulk cargo door is the last cargo door to be secured much like I've seen IRL. The cans ar…

Hello!Allways after each flight I get this message: "DISAGREE FUEL - PROG 2". To avoid it I made a new installation, first of the 747, then of the whole FS9, again the 747, now I kindly got the complete new installation file from PMDG (thanks!) and tried it again - no success! What else can I do to get rid of this nerving message. I know it is not important. But, as you, I like the perfectness... PMDG - you have done so much for my illusion, to have a perfect simulation, can you moreover do this little trifle?

Hi,I found a new issue. Yesterday I was practicing some CATII and CATIII approaches. When I initiated the GO AROUND and pressed the TO/GA button, the A/P sets GA pitch and sets max. GA thrust which then bust the -2000ft/min climb and accelerates very slowly. (don't worry, I recovered the situation) Then, when I came back for a CATII approach with manual landing I initiated the G/A again only this time I pitched up manualy and the Required GA thrust was set but again the F/D give me a wrong pitch indication so I wasn't able to follow F/D bars. Note: The GA N1 was set to the correct value this time for a 2000ft/min climb but it was just the pitch.The situation was: FAJS air…

Sitting in the Cockpit of a real parked up BA 747-400 tonight at HEATHROW i noticed that the Captains ND & PFD were blank . The overhead BAT switch was OFF, STANDBY power switch was OFF but the captains PFD & ND were not blank unlike the PMDG flightdeck. I realise that this was a Rolls Royce engined 747 opposed to the PMDG GE varient and wonder if this could explain these differences. Just wondered if anyone knows if there Are there different configerations of what is on and what is not in the cockpit according to airline or engine types etc....thanksKav

Hi,Although I'm having a lot of fun with my queen, today I saw a strange announcement on my panel:TAS = 472Tailwind component = 62 knotsGroundspeed = 446 knotsI should say groundspeed must be through airspeed + tailwindcomponent = 534 knots. Mostly it works that way. So I'm curious who can bring me the light about what I'm missing. ThanksHerman (EHGG)PS: I'm using ASV and a registerd FSUIPC, latest version.

Hello,I have some questions about the use of the FMC. Usually when i take off i do a "manually" one, i mean whith the autopilot with a/t on and in FL CH. I tried to do an automatic TO in Vnav mode but the autopilot goes directly to 250KT and don't respect the restriction speed for the flaps. Is it possible that the autopilot respect those restrictions in Vnav mode take off?For long trip i would like to have step climb but i don't know how to do it. I think that there is an automatic way and a manual? Can someone explain me how to do it please?For arrival i would like to change my speed in the FMC that are all at 250KT. I tried many ways but i can't find the solution!!! :-…

Hi all,The VNAV does'nt maintain speed restrictions under FL100 of 250kts. Before take-off I enter the restriction into the FMC and just past 3000ft the magenta marker skips up to something close to 270kts and the speed bar follows course.Also upon descent when I enter the same restriction(240/10000) the aircraft doesnt decel to honor restrictions.In both cases I switch to FLCH to keep things in place. Any help on the issue would be appreciated.Thanks,Jay

After loading up a route and taking off the 747 following the track maybe two or three waypoints then decides to turn around. After turning off and on AP it start to follow the track again but keeps weaving left and right across the magenta line. What am I doing wrong?

I am finding that the PMDG 747 is not landing as well in crosswinds as it did before the latest patch. Although the landings are much softer now, it seems to have trouble touching down on the runway centerline now when landing with significant crosswinds. Although all the wheels are usually on the runway on touchdown, they are ONLY JUST on the runway ! I would be interested to know if anyone else is finding the same.Fergus Cameron

I recently bought the 747-400....I like it but i cant tune an ils freq let alone fly one. I read the manual about the FMS but there is nothing in there about putting in an ILS freq. Whenever i try to it won't let me. I load a whole trip in the FMS including approach but when i goto "ils: on the hsi, nothing comes up either.any ideas?thanks

I don't think it's been asked before. The paint kit instructions are really vague. I spent the time in learning the basics of Corel. I have drawn my plane. I figured out I need to group the objects before I can copy the sections. But I am having trouble understanding something. The istruction tells you to cut the PSD file in three locations and past them one under the other in the layout template. There is one fuse cut template. It says to repeat for both sides.Questions:1. After you cut the three sections and insert them into the fuse_layout, what happens next? (assuming all gear doors and other colors have been matched)2.
