Gents,I come to you embarrssed and in need of counsel! I inadvertently saved over the Cold & Dark ("CD") scenario when trying to load it from the PMDG menu. So now, when I load the CD, I get a replica panel state from my last flight (argh!). I thought I was loading the CD scenario, but I was (to my horror shortly after) saving over the default CD. As one can imagine, I am really cross with myself, firstly (idiota) and horrified that I will not be able to start a flight from a clean slate.I was wondering if anyone would please instruct me further as to how I can fix this blunder of mine or direct me to an already existing topic that has discussed this issue.Respectfull…

HiHope you don't mind a question about the B737, I realise you have all moved up to bigger iron ;-)Actually this question may also apply to the 744 which is another question.If I understand this correct on takeoff the SPD window should be bugged to V2 and selecting the A/P (after t/o) adds 15 KIAS to this value. Does the SPD then change to the FMC speed at the acceleration ALT or when/how ? also the V2+15 is still below clean speed isnt it ?Also, what if I want to hand fly for a time, I get a flashing A (I think its an A)is this as the SPD is too low ?Perhaps somebody could explain the correct procedure and logic behind the a/t use in a takeoff for both A/P on 'soon'afte…

I have a question about the cold and dark download for the pmdg 747-400. i downloaded a diffrent livery from pmdg (northwest) i started the sim with the pmdg cold and dark download not the one that came with the PMDG but the one from this tutorial http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/index.htm that i was told about in the tutorial everything was fine i then went to the menu and chose a diffrent livery becasue i wanted all the settings to stay the same but i wanted to fly with the northwest colors i didnt think it would be a big deal but it was. How is it done in R/L? Does a pilot memorize all the available STARS for a given airport and then once the landing runways is assigned, decide which STAR they will use? Or does ATC assign a STAR, once the pilot has stated his intention to fly a published approach procedure? Here is the scenario that prompted me to ask this question.I was on final into KLAX from KDTW in the 747. I checked LAX ATIS and figured the winds were east to west so the the westbound runways were being used. Hello folksI'm having a big problem here.Every time i want to fly the 737NG series (doesn't matter if it's the -600/700/800/900) i get a CTD.I'm able to load the aircraft in the Create a flight menu but once i click the Fly Now button,i get the loading screen and then the error message.The error message says that there was a problem with the FS9.exe.I've searched the forum here but can't seem to find the right topic for this.If there is one,i missed it and sorry for that.I hope someone could help me with this,would be a real shame when my 737NG has to stay in the hangar for this reason :(.GreetzSteven

I've come into posession of a 744 AOM (all 900+ pages!), a few years out of date, but the point is there and for my purposes all I need.I'm looking over the EICAS secion- in particular the engine display indications and had a few questions-Does the Queen as modelled show the Secondary Engine Exceedence Cue and the inflight start envelope?I've never noticed if the different sources of vibration are shown- FAN, LPT, N2 or BB.Will there be a X-BLD (start) indication if needed?As I read thie AOM, I'm amazed at the sophisticaion of the systems and the level of detail obtainable by the crew for many systems as opposed to maint displays.For ~$250M I can have my own real one (new…

Dear Sirs,I attempted to download from the PMDG site the "Canadian Intenational Airlines", "Cathay Pacific 'Hong Kong'", and "Eva Air Old Colors" liveries to no avail. Once saved, I run it as usual with all the prompts, like all the other liveries, but they fail to show up in the MSFS list of PMDG liveries. All other liveries are present, and functioning save the three aforementioned.Any instruction as to resolve this would be much obliged.Thank you,Motty Nolos

I just got the B1900C and D. Flying the B1900C from the VC, I notice a couple of things. One, VC textures take a long time to load (minor). Two, exterior landscape tiles REALLY take a long time to load (major). This results in views like the attached screenshot.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/132835.jpgAny suggestions? Hi guys,Has anybody seen the following issue. I always fly with the 2D panel state and whenever I reload a saved flight the panel does not appear. Pressing Shift + 1 does bring it back however. Besides the known FS limitations which cause the bouncing/height increase temporarily when loading the panel, I always have to disengage VNAV and reset the speed manually as it drops down to 200knots.These things don't stop me from continuing, but I was just wondering if anyone had experienced similar or had any ideas what might resolve them.

When I did the pre-programmed route in Germany the flap retraction/extention bugs worked fine.However when I do different routes I cannot get the bugs to appear after I've put the weight into the FMC and gone onto the APPCH page and tried to activate a flap 30 landing. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

HelloI made a flight plan for a short flight from KDFW to KBNAI used the GRL2 departure from KDFW to TRISS, SHERO then TXK.Takeoff was from RWY 35L from KDFW.I climed to about 2000 feet and engage LNAV.Instead of making a right turn to intercept the course line, the aircraft turned to the left and just circled.Using the same departure and engaging heading hold at about 2000 ft then turning the aircraft toward the TRISS waypoint, then engaging LNAV the aircraft will turn and head directly for TRISS. The waypoints after TRISS are all picked up and the flight plan is flown correct to KNBA.Why is the aircraft making a left turn intead of a right turn to intercept the course l…

G'Day allI downloaded the new (very latest) update the other day, and it seems Im having some new problems.1. APU will not start up. If you look on the Status Page, there is no APU indications at all.. N1:0 etc2. Hydraulic Demand and Engine Pumps are off.. and yet I am able to move control surfaces their full range.3. Not a new problem, but often happens.... WHen I start the flight, I have one, or sometimes 2 engines shut down. I start every flight with the default C172 with all systems operating, and then change to the B747. So I dont know what could be causing this.4. Hi,Thought I'll start a new thread for this one even if it's related to sounds that has already been discussed in other threads but now I'm 100% positive...I don't hear a thing when starting the engines more than the sound from start switch when it gets back in it's original position.Have been listening to the PMDG747_ENGSTART.wav file and if that would be the sound I heard when starting the engines in the sim I would be more than happy but like I said...I don't hear this sound and no other sound either for that matter.Am I the only one? Is there a way to turn down the volume of "altitude call-outs" and the "altitude acquired" tone? I need to keep the sound turned up while flying, but when these two sounds activate, my family hates me all the more. I cannot blame them for suddenly waking to the booming voice "ONE THOUSAND", "FIVE HUNDRED" etc. Is there a specific volume control setting for this.Thanks (for keeping me from getting kicked out of my house)Kevin

I am trying to assign the TOGA button to my joystick, but I am having some confusion. Namely, from which menu do I assign this command, as there are at least two possibilities. The PMDG keyboard commands menu has a command labled "MCP - Set TOGA." IN the main MSFS control assignment menu there is also an "autothrottle- TOGA" selection. Which of these applies to the 744? or should I set both? I am using a Saitek X-52 joystick if that helps.Andrew
