Hi All,I'm uncertian of the function of the autothrottle as it pertians to the MCP speed setting at takeoff in the 737-700NGWould someone please clarify for me the function of setting MCP speed to V2 At T/O. Can i expect the autothrottle to revert to MCP speed+20 durring initial climbout or is setting MCP speed to V2 done only to get FD guidance cues and/or speed bug?Sometimes i've seen the autothrottle switch from "thrhld" to "mcpspeed"+20 durring climbout. But I've yet to determine what triggers that switch.Regards and thanks for any help,Tom D.:-)

I updated my 747 to the universal update ..no problems...then I had a problem with my computer.I thought it was because of the update....long story short I deleted the update and the original 747...now when I try to reinstall the original 747 it tells me "its an earlier version" and it wont let me re-install! I've try'd everything I know including trying to erase all through re-edit...but it still tells me theres a later version ...Please if anyone can help. I sure dont want to format if I don't have to :( I know I messed it up it's not PMDG's fault!!

Hi All again, today I did my second test flight, this time from Miami to Jacksonville. Here are my observations:Setup started with a CTD, even though I never had a problem before. Reloaded with C172, then switched to 747, no problem (no FSUIPC or whatever thats called installed).I started with a rejected take-off just below V1. Everything worked good, I only have a problem with my autobrake disengaging when I steer with my CH-Pedals, might be a brake-deadband (spiking) problem, even though its set to a high deadband. If I dont touch pedals they work great. I have to move my throttle through 2 cycles to get the retardation noticed. I really dont like clicking the screw or h…

Hi all,I am flying flight simulators since last 8 years & I have tried 100's of free-wares for the FS & finally I decided to try the pay-wares for more realism.Just last week I bought the PMDG 737NG & honestly, I found this add-on good in many ways but I was very bothered about some handling issues, like:1-It is too heavy compared to it is type (the default 737 is much lighter).2-Very hard to maintain vertical speed between 0 & 150 when landing.3-The T/D point is too close to the destination which make impossible to do the landing at first attempt.4-When reaching the T/D point, the autopilot will start descend at very high V/S like -3600 (I doubt that in r…

May I ask for your assistance in obtaining help please? The following two request for help which I sent to "Support" are self explanatory...............................................................On the 3rd I sent you the query copied below but as yet have received no reply. "Soon after installing the new 747 update I began to experience sounds too intrusive to continue flying. Accordingly I posted a query on the Forum reading "Crackling sounds after the update" As it appears from the string of comments following my posting that others are having the same problem may I suggest considering a patch to reverse the change to the sound files? I propose this solution as the …

When the ADF needle first picks up the beacon, the bearing shown is anywhere from about 90 to 180 degrees off. After localizer capture and closing in om the beacon, the needle swings and shows the correct bearing. I haven't seen any other threads on this issue, and this is after the update. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, louross.

Whenever I start a flight with the 747-400, I get a low fuel warning. This warning occurs all through-out my flight. The message says that I can press control+X to be automatically refueled, but the short-cut seems to not work , because the message will return in five to eight minutes. Anyone, any thoughts on what's causing this?

Hello PMDG,I had very few if any problems until the latest release. Yes, when you turn right it would turn left in the previous versions, but that problem could be mitigated by not turning the mouse wheel too fast. Other than that is was fine. The new version, which I have been patient with since I downloaded it on 11/29 or there about, has been a queen-b_tch to deal with. VNAV is unpredictable, constant overspeeds, FMC acting wierd (heaven forbid if you enter a lower climb speed into the FMC durng ascent - FMC looses all reference to fuel prediction and ETA), and everytime I land at LIRF (Fiumicino, Rome) as soon as the nose wheel touches down it crashes (regardless if…

Hi Guys...Has anyone else been getting the following display differences in the V-NAV page of the FMC re "Step To" inputs by the pilot? For example...today I flew from YMML to KLAX, upon completing my climb out to "FL290" and settling into my CRZ, I wanted to input my own "Step To" requirements and not rely on "ICAO" (standard 2,000ft fixed step climbs), this is when stuff started to go silly re the "FL" display in the V-NAV page. I wanted a step of 4,000ft to "FL330" however, after input the actual "CRZ" alt displayed in "RSK1" was "FL334"..?, so I tried a few other options and everytime the revised "FL" shown in "RSK1" was wrong. Is this right or wrong? Can anyone help …

Hey guys. I haven't been flying the 737 lately (yes I know blasphemy smite me if you will...), but tonight I thought I'd fire it up take it around for a few hours. Well I load up the plane, it loads the AIRAC data ok, then I click Fly. It goes to the load screen. The bar doesn't move, then about a minute later it gets an error and asks me if I wanna restart FS. (insert trying rebooting about five times and repeatedly pulling out of hair and slur of expletives)I don't wanna reinstall all of the 737 right now so I wanna know if I can narrow down the problem lol. I just installed the 1.10 patch for the 747 also. Any idea whats going on?

I am new to FMC programming as I usually just import from fs navigator. But tomorrow I want to fly from the east coast of the US to Europe. I don't recall the website which gives the active tracks, a link would be great, but I was wondering how I would program that into the FMC route. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

was flying the queen last night from New York to Tel Aviv... everything was perfect... about two thirds of the way thru the track I logged off squawkbox and went to bed... about 4am I was woken up by the sounds of warnings and a stick shaker. the PFD had my speed bouncing around between .74 mach and .68... still no reason for a stall warning and my abnormally high angle of attack... I hit shift+z and the sim showed my speed as 209kts and my altitude was 2000 feet lower than indicated on my PFD. I also noticed my a/p was going crazy... switching from vnav to alt from lnav to hdg from speed to thrust, etc... and going back and forth. Basically I just shut her down and wrote…

I was flying from Savannah georgia to Miami. I had 30% capacity in each of the three tanks. Somewhere over Ft.Lauderdale, the engines died. I checked the tanks-left/right were empty already. I'd thought the center tank would kick in, but no hope in ####. I tried to restart engines, but it was useless. What happened?Eytan OornsteinEastern Virtual Miami

I've been having this problem for a while, and I figured I'd wait until the service release to see if this problem was fixed. The problem is when I use the PMDG 747 AC. The problem occurs almost every time I pause and task switch (via the windows key) to my desktop (say, when I get an e-mail or need to check nav info on the Internet). When I return to my FS 2004 window, the ATC window is blank (brought up by pressing ~) and the FS status label (the white text on red background in the lower left corner; often displays parking brake message) is blank also. Attached is a screen shot.Has anybody experienced this problem? I'm using an ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon X800XL video card…
