PMDG Team, Captains,During my travels through the virtual skies, I've noticed some AFDS behavior that does not seem quite right to my untrained eye. I'd appreciate some guidance on whether I'm goofing up, or if these situations are specific to my machine, or if they warrant being added to the 'to be fixed' list. All of these situations are completely reproducible on my machine, and I've tried to provide a reasonable amount of detail to recreate them.Start with aircraft in cruise (also holds for climb and descent phases of flight); FD (only Captain

Hello Pmdg,After a big hardware change to my computer, It was necessary to install Windows, and of course Flight simulator with all the add-ons, so the time came to install the pmdg 737-600&700 boxed version, and as I tried to remove the cd from the box, it came out with great difficulty and in the process cracked the cd in half L. Is it possible for me to send you the cracked cd (without the box) and you can send me a new cd (without box) ? I would really appreciate this support. I would also like to let you know that most of the Aerosoft box

I have jumpseated on many airliners, but never on a 744... The most close to real (until PMDG's QOS ) experience I have had is the one provided by PS1, and there is something I was wiling to ask:- I have taxied the PS1 744 (it has three different engine configurations, but let's concentrate on the CF6) with medium to max GWs by using innitial break thrust immediately followed by ground iddle, and found that it never need additional power, and will hapily accelerate towards 29 knots (and stay there...). I find this a little bit too high. At least I tended to believe that a heavier jumbojet would attain a lower iddle taxi speed then a not so loaded one...PS1 does not consid…

I have got the 747 for a couple of weeks now and the last week im trying out the long hauls. Its a challange to get the correct amount of fuel to reach your destination and still have your minimum landing fuel abort on thouchdown. One thing i would realy like to know. I use step climb all the time but i would like to leave the queen flying while i take a rest. Ok i know this isnt the way we need to do it and yes by doing this i know i get a lot of comment but then again i dont think im the only one. But back to the subject. The queen will reach its step climb point when im in dreamland and i dont think its good for my relationship with my wife to set an alarm in the middle…

Captains-One of the things that makes us absolutely crazy is realizing we dropped the ball on something incredibly obvious and/or inconsequential that makes our airplane look less than perfect....We saw a couple of things that we goofed up on- so I have just replaced the sales full-version download AND the Universal Updater on the server effective 0400Z/02DEC05....THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT TO DOWNLOAD THEM- YOU DON'T NEED THEM.(unless- like us, you tend to obsess about minor details to that it impacts your daily living.... ;-) )The items we updated are:-> Ignition messages changed to MEMOs rather than ADVISORIES. (duh)-> The right side engines on the GE and RR model…

Did anyone hear of center of gravity affecting maximum allowed takeoff weight?. Some folks on some other forum claim that aircraft may be permitted to take off with higher MTOW when its CG is slightly aft (but still within prescribed limits). I wonder if anyone heard of such a thing.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg

I have setup the L button on my keyboard to control the landing lights on all of my aircraft. The only a/c that creates a problem is the PMDG 744. When inputting routes into the flight control computer, when I hit "L" it turn the lights on or off and does not input into the FCU keyboard. I had presumed when in that mode the rest of the a/c was locked out like in the 737NG. Is this a known issue and what suggestions other than using another key.

Hey,Couple of questions regarding the FMC....I'm running the latest patch and the cost index range of values are 0-500 not 0-99 as mentioned in the manual. Is this correct? I'm guessing this is down to the "recalibrated cost index model" mentioned in the update??Also, I'm struggling with the offset path functionality......During cruise I try to set an offset path by going to the ROUTE page and entering something like 01L or 1L or 10R in the scratchpad then upselecting to the OFFSET LSK. But no matter what I seem to enter I always get an "INVALID OFFSET" message.. Any ideas??Many Thanks!Adam

G'Day allI saw a post that has been blocked and people have been reporting sound crackling. I have this problem to which makes this plane unflyable unless I dont use sound. I have figured out that it seems to only begin once I pass FL100 (10,000ft), but then can occur at any time afterwards, including below that altitude. Is there a fix available or one being worked on?Ive tried a reinstall but didnt help at all.

Hi,When flying the PMDG B737-600, to start my descent I usually select the altitude given to me by ATC in the MCP altitude indicator and set a target speed in the MCP for descent. This works OK for flights below FL250. However, when starting descents above FL250, sometimes this method tends to result in the AP descending at a rate of -6000ft/m until the target speed has been reached! Is there any way to set a vertical speed for the a/p to follow as well as maintaining the target speed during descent? Thanks,Luke

Hello Fellow PMDG'ers! :)Today I was feeling like a flight from KSFO to KSEA with the Queen (With my new UAL paint actually :) http://www.fs2004.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=65081 )I started her up from Cold and Dark, it was raining so I activated the wipers to the first speed. Almost immediately, systems started to fail. The EICAS was going mad! Failure after failure, including Aileron Lockout, Drive Disconnect, TCAS Fail etc. etc. When this happened my engines were running as I was at the end of the pushback. There wasn't a way I could get rid of the failures either! I went to the failures menu but nothing showed as failed. I had to reload the aircraft and restart from…

Hi PMDG Team and co-simmers.I've been reading all these numerous posts about CTDs for a long period of time despite the fact that I haven't had a SINGLE CTD expeirence with PMDG747 any version. However, this finally happened and here is my story.I was one of very first customers of PMDG737NG and was enjoying this bird for a long period of time. When 747 came out, I deinstalled PMDG737NG (just to avoid any possible conflicts) and insalled PMDG747v1.0 in August, than V1.1 in November. Everything worked smoothly with no CTDs as I mentioned before.Yesterday, driven by nostalgy, I decided to install PMDG737NG again. I did everything in accordance with FAQ on PMDG Support Page,…

hi allive recently decided to fly in Europe lately as ive never dont much Europe flying in the past and i only fly the PMDG 737NG 800 series, however lately ive been having a problem with the VNAV on this aircraft when departing very cold icy airports like places where temps are 5c and belowthe problem is once airborne and i engage VNAV and at approx 4000' i lose all speed on the 737 and the tape speed goes to RED and indicates 45 knts, then i did CTL Z to see what the speed is and it states im doing 0!once this happens my plane doesnt climb anymore and no matter what i do i cant climb,so i decided to do a summer weather and it took off ok with no problems with VNAV or any…
