Is there a tutorial that explains how to set up the FMC on the 747. I do not mean something that explains what each button does, but an in depthlesson on setting everything up.I have flown this plane eigth times now and have NOT been able to install my flight plans When I click "nav data" I get nothing. I know the flight plans are there, but, they do not show up with "nav data".I have NOT been able to intercept the localizer either. When I check the runway that I what, no frequency is shown. When I try to manually input the freq, I get "incorrect nav data".I give up. If I do get the hang of this FMC, this 747 is coming off my hard drive and I am going back the default 747…

I know I should descent at the "barber pole" and then adjust my power to maintain that, but what should my fpm be? I used -2000 once and got down too early using fs9 atc. What are your thoughts? Thanks

Hey everyone. I wanted to know if I can use the dxtbmp program, and take the PMDG texture folder, as well as each aircraft livery texture folder including the VC textures within them , and convert all to DXT3 / No Mips and have everything still intact? I feel this will improve my fps and smooth out the performance on my machine also. I also think the only textures I do covert are the ones that I can see in thumbnail view? I downloaded the 747, and I cant seem to alter the heading bug indicator or the airspeed, i get a small arrow when i place the mouse over them, but i can only go down in value, ie. i cant increase the heading or airspeed. I own Level D as well havent had a problem like this

So I downloaded the Vista Australis scenery and I thought to myself, I need a nice twin to check this out. So I motor on over to PMDG and fill in the credit card stuff for the 1900C, CC is approved (the war department must be slacking off!) and I click on the download link that tells me that it is only valid for 3 days! Hello,I wonder if anyone could tell me whether or not it is possible to program a DME-Arc around a VOR in the FMC of a B737NG (600/700 or 800/900)?And if the answer to that is yes, how do i go about it? I can't seem to find this in any of the manuals that are available for download on the PMDG website.Thanks in advance for any insight you may be able to offer.Jan Swinnen

I've had a few flights recently in the PMDG737 when, immediately after takeoff, I was able to set VNAV and LNAV, but the autopilot light won't come on, and the flight is more or less uncontrolled. After about 20 or 30 minutes of fighting with the plane, eventually the sim will let me engage the autopilot, but I was curious if this was by design. If so,under what circumstances will the autopilot not engage?On both occasions, I was attempting a return flight without first shutting down/restarting Flight Simulator, and I wonder if there's something in the FMC or other settings that I needed to reset?Jeff Clark

I have the B1900C installed on my computer, unfortunatly FS stopped working so I had to reinstall it, then it worked but I lost all my addons. How do I redownload the aircraft without having to pay for it again?Thanks,Sam

A brand-new B747-400 full-motion simulator is being installed at the London Gatwick Training Centre in Spring 2006. We'll be using it for our Flight Simulator Experiences for members of the public, with instruction from current BA & Virgin pilots.We're trying to gauge interest in the possibility of running a special day just for PMDG B747-400 'pilots' - at a discounted rate - and before others members of the public get to fly it.We're thinking of running several 2-hour 'shared' sessions, with four spaces available in each (30 mins at the controls) - but there are lots of ways the event could be structured. We're open to suggestions...

The speed brake rarely deploys when landing even if armed prior to touchdown. Is this a problem, or am I doing something wrong?Thanks for any help that you can give to me regarding this issue.Irv Strongin

Hi,I am not able to enter coordinates in the RTE-page. It is only possible in the LEGS-page. According to my manual it should be possible to put coordinates in the RTE-page.For example N43W040. Regards

Hi all,I am looking for a couple of things.When fuel and flight planning I am looking for the fuel they use in the RW for Reserve, Taxi, Hold etc...Also what BA use for Cost Index, also Assumed Air Temp in the FMC.Does anyone know how I can get this from fp's real world something like that from the internet...? I am trying to find the source the chaps in the flightplanning forum use to get the plans etc.. ? Maybe this will help..ThanksMark

hello,I'm trying to configure some buttons on my cyborg evo joystick to enhance the flying pleasure with the pmdg but whatever I try, it fails. I know this is not a saitek forum but perhaps there's someone with experience on this subject. The joystick works perfect and the software is installed properly. I also saw a button-configuration menu in fs2004 itself, but i don't know what to do there.I hope there's someone who can help.Sander NoormanHolland

I have finally invested in a small upgrade to my computer, so my "new" system will be as following: AMD Athlon 64 3500+, Corsair Value S PC3200 DDR-DIMM 1024MB and ATI 9700 Pro AIW (couldn't afford a new video card, but this will work). As you can see it's not the best system, but it's way better than my old one so hopefully I can enjoy the 744 without killing all of the FPS...Anyone with a similar system who could tell what to expect when it comes to performance?

I got PMDG 747 and 737 for christmas lately and have recieved so many errors I actually considered not using PMDGs products ever again! The FMC Is such a devil when trying to program it correctly! Until now, after about 20 tries on each plane and many different tutorials, I can't get the FMC to load the waypoints or even work properly (meaning, I can't even make my first proper flight with PMDG aircraft!)! I was watching the Polar and Atlas DVDs for the thousandth time, great dvds from justplanes.I noticed the overhead panel of the 744F shown in the movie was different than the pax version we are lucky to fly in the game. is this a change between the freighter and pax variants?The anti-ice switch has 3 positions. Off, auto, and on.And on the aircraft we fly now, if I do not activate the switch, is it in the auto position?Thanks,

Dear PMDG Team,First of all I wish you all happy holidays.I would like to report I have experienced a CTD after installing the PMDG 744 on a clean system (FS without ANY add-ons).Procedure:- Installed FS on my laptop (which has been never used before to serve as my cockpit ;) )- Laptop is higher end performance then my PC- After installing Fs,I tried: no CTD- After installing PMDG 744: CTDHope you can do something with this info.Kind regards,Nick
