    Hi. I noticed a very perticular quirk in the PMDG 744's FMC coroutes.I used smithplanet.com very nice Standard Procedure's Guide and flew a great route using the KLAXKEDW.rte he provided on his website. However I CANNOT get the coroutes function to work at all in the FMC!!I have read the chapter on the PMDG FMC word for word, and it says on page 12 - 22 of "FMC USER'S MANUAL" (revision -26JUL05) :"Simulator/PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS directory. Entering ADLBNE001, for example into the 3R LSK will automatically load a flight between Adelaide and Brisbane" However when I do so it ALWAYS GIVES ME A ERROR. Either not in database error, or runway error, or always some other kind of err…

  3. Dear All:Is there an addon that simulates an ACARS system? I would love to have one for the 737 NG. I especially would love to know the landing runway long before I land, this way I could program it in the FMC really early on like they would do in real life.     Hi,What is the correct procedure if I already installed the 32 bit version of a 747 livery but want to change to the DXT3 version? Do I simply run the installation once again and choose DXT3 instead or do I need to uninstall the 32 bit version first?

    Hi,I have some issues with loading the PMDG 744. It loads correctly, but when I load the aircraft in full screen mode, there are some black boxes on my screen and loading goes rather slow. I do not have this problem when I press ALT+ENTER first and load in Non-full screen mode.My videocard is a Nvidia Geforce 6600 and I am using the latest video drivers. I did not have this problem with the PMDG 737.     Hi,I have ordered the boxed CD of the 747-400 from Aerosoft GmbH. The website says "Pre-order", but I thought the boxed version had been released and was shipping.     I've seen some writings from one of our fellow drivers that touched on the use of LNAV/VNAV to carry out an approach independent of any ground based navaids.Does such a procedure exist in the 744 in real life? If not is it feasible? What steps would we need to carry out such an approach? Presumably program in the approach waypoints and heights required off the approach plate and treat it as a non-precision approach with a DH of 200 feet.I am trying to recall from the manual: can you enter custom waypoints into the FMC that are 'x' Miles from the threshold?     Just bought the 747-400 - amazing! I've bene working my way through the cockpit procedures to get this baby warmed up and ready to go. One question though - I seem to see what looks like a pushback gauge at the end of the pedestal... but I can't seem to get it to do anything, and can't find any reference to it in the manual - help??!

    I found the problem. I had a couple of boxes check in FSUIPC that were causing the problem. Once I removed the check marks the problem was gone.Fantastic!EdI can't get the autopilot to engage?The auto throttles work fine and the airplane is in trim.When I press the CMD button it immediately disconnects?The FMS is programmed correctly and even with just heading and altitude hold selected it still will not engage?Don't ask me what the problem is? Never seemed to have this problem before?I just updated to version 1.1Any comments are very welcomed.Thanks Ed

    Hi all,What are the procedures for one engine out? Say I am flying a 737 from UK into Germany somewhere how does this work? What do airlines do? Which divert etc? A planned one or??So including the above example once explained how does it take this into consideration?:"If at the takeoff airport meets the minimum IFR takeoff criteria but is below minimum landing criteria then you must declare a takeoff alternate that can be flown within one hour, one engine out performance since in these conditions you can not return to your takeoff airport"How is this worked out?ThanksMark

    Captains,How do you load the 744 properly? When I load it from the CREATE A FLIGHT menu at the start of FS9, the a/c is up and running. Then, I use the default Cold and Dark scenario from the menu, and the a/c shuts down (lights out, etc... overhead panel switches are shutdown mode)... BUT:1. The engines are still running; (when looking from external view)2. When I start up the a/c using normal start up procedures, and when initializing the FMC, I notice that on the PROG-2 page, that the TOTALIZER figure is missing.Is there another way to start her up without using the Cold and Dark scenario that came with PMDG?Regards,Tom

Hi,Noticed that when the switches for seatbelt and no smoking signs are in their 'Auto' position you don't get any EICAS messages telling you what their actual position really is - how does this work in the real a/c and how are these switches normally used IRL - anyone who knows?In the Virgin Atlantic DVD I own I belive I noticed the FO use one of these switches to alert the cabin crew departure was imminent and also that they didn't have these switches in their 'Auto' position.Any comments from someone who knows or maybe some real 747 driver?

    Hello when I set the FPS for the update rate of the 2D panel the gauges are still not silky smooth no matter how high I set the FPS counter (both 737 and 747). It's hard to explain but you still see the gauges 'stuttering' and 'jumping' - this is very noticable when turning. You can clearly see the ND 'skipping' and 'stuttering' slightly - in the real aircraft the gauges are silky smooth - like what you see in the LDS767 (NOTE:I'm not comparing, I love your 747 it's just that they have got the gauges perfectly smooth).John

    the pedestal seems to have no lighting at dusk with the dome light on it is pitch black and the functions are too dark to use meaning that you have to revert to the 2D panel untill the panel lights kick inis there any way of fixing this?thankskav

    i read the tutorial on the autothrottle and am still having problems with autothrottle spontaneously disarming when i try to arm it. it happens right after i attempt to arm it in the pmdg 737, i am probably missing something obvious. i would just like to know some suggestions as to what it could possibly be. it does work when i immediately arm the autothrottle after starting up my flight and as long as i keep the engines running on the ground. after i stop the engines, and restart them, i get the warning light of autothrottle disarmed when i attempt to arm it or if i wait too long after the fs session has begun. any suggestions for something i may have overlooked wou…

    I have the entire UK AIRAC data to hand and so I plan to create SID and STAR details for all UK airports (and likely Irish as well).HOWEVER, I need to know how to make a particular position in a SID/STAR a "FLYOVER" as opposed to a "FLYBY" waypoint.I think I can see the basic construction of the procedures from those I already have, but need this sdditional bit of info to make them all work properly.The finished work will, of course, be released for general useage and (hopefully) updated monthly as required.Adrian Smith
