  1. In fiddling with the CI function on the FMC, I am finding that a range of up to 180 and even 200 in the CI field seems to produce a realistic climb and cruise speed, depending on the Gross ToW. But certainly a range of 100-150 seems fine based on my RW experience of cruising at Mach 0.86 - 0.865.However, the manual suggests a CI range of 00 to 99 only. Why is this?Jonathan

    Hello all.I recently started learning all of the systems that come along with the 737NG and I had just one question. Don't know if it has been asked already but I'll give it a shot.I believe Boeing has given the option to airlines of installing alternating landing lights, where the two flash on and off. This saves bulb life and gets peoples' attention. One airline that I know of that uses this is Southwest. I was just curious if this feature is available with the PMDG737NG already or it is planned.Thanks for the help,Bryce

    hi all, i have just bought the 737 800/900 and have got it running fantastic product!! having said that help is needed to update the navdata and sids and stars in the fmc as it tells me that it is not in the data base .new to computers so i dont have a clue what is going on a detailed explanation would be much appreciated thanks in advanc i have no idea what a root directory is !!!help!!!!rory aka swingdog

    Hi peopleI have two questiona. maybe you can help me.So in the Fmc I can choose the Climb Mode. Ok I set V2+10 and after a altitude N1 is activated. So my question is now when i dont activate FlCh and set the speed higher or lower the Fd does show my the wright pitch i have to fly with the airspeed i have insert. Why does he know how i have to fly when no Vertical Nav is choosen?I can only see Lnav and To/Ga an N1. Attention. This is only a techniqual question.2.     Hello,I have a question regarding transition level and altitude. As you know, not all countries have the same levels. I want to enter another transition level for my descent phase. I press FMC-COMM and select the descent forecast page to enter the descent winds. On the upper corner of the page it says Transition Level FL180. I try to enter a new value but this is not allowed.Where can I enter and updated transition level in the 747-400?Xander

    Am I right in thinking that VNAV will automatically adjust your SPD to what the FMC considers to be the safest level if you have entered SPD/ALT restrictions in your flightplan that the FMC considers to be unsafe? I have observed that in the NG, for e.g., if I set 210/3000 for a departure waypoint that at certain heavy weights, VNAV will accelerate me to say IAS 230 instead. Why does it do this? Because my SPD restriction was considered unsafe or unachievable in VNAV and the FMC bumped it up?Similarly, on VNAV PTH descent, the SPD seems to be "stepped down" in stages if there is a large gap in the speed restriction.     Im not sure if this was discussed already but I was just wondering how the Queen was received in this presentation and how did PMDG go about presenting it? Where there engineers, designers, pilots present from Boeing and did they have a go at flying the aircraft themselves?I have often wondered what the people at Boeing have made of devlopers like PMDG recreating their aircraft in FS.

    Hi everyone, I was flying the B-1900D today and was wondering what, in real life, is the primary imstrument of navigation for this plane - traditional VOR or GPS? VOR to VOR is straightforward, that's what I fly in my Cessna 172, but how would one program the GPS in this plane if one wished to fly via GPS in real life?In the sim, once you go into flight planner and create your flight, all your waypoints, route etc is pre-loaded into your GPS. But is there some way to start blank and program it like pilots must have to do in real life?Oh and one other small but unrelated question. Where's the Yaw Damper switch?     Hi flight simmers,1 question,For long distend flight wiht airplane(pmdg 747-400)in Fs 2004,I need to speed up the flightsim to save time.When try to speed the game up >4x, auto throttle disconnect after a few minutes. Even when I try manually to gain speed, the plane (pmdg 747)lose its speed and I have to slow down the game down to 2x to recover speed with manual speed settings or the auto throttle to try getting the plane on the speed in want.Is it possible to speed up the game with no problems flying the 747-400 pmdg ?Gr.   12. HelloI remember, when I defined wind forcasts for the 737-series the top of descent point was moving on ND, depend of head- or thalwinds.By the Queen I can't see that.     Evening all,Just spent the last day getting to grips with my new toy (747-400 v1.10).One problem I've having is with inadvertently annoying the neighbours and my flatmate. The normal engine, fan and general ambience of the cockpict is fine. However the sound of various warnings, cautions and GPWS call outs is far too loud. How can the volume of these sounds be changed?     Every time I start PMDG I see the PDF in blue and when I chose the cold and dark panel it never come back to blue.I always see it in black with no data on when I am flying.Anybody has any clue as to why this is happening.Thank You

    Hello,I just read the review of QOTS, along with the Virgin Atlantic pilot's own report of using QOTS, both in PC Pilot magazine. PMDG's QOTS sounds fantastic and I'm making efforts to purchase the program very soon. (I need to start from scratch and buy FS2004 first, I guess.)One of the questions I have concerns comments about how accurate the flight modeling is with QOTS. From the remarks made by the VA 744 pilot, it sounds like it has the same feel and response as flying the actual 744. Ever since my completion of the basic flight with the PMDG 747 using smithplanet's great visual tutorial all I've been trying to do is repeat that success expect with different departure and destination airports. I have previously posted many of the FMC/Coroutes problem that I have been having.     Hi all,Just tried the 747-400 today for the first time. I tried 2 times an autoland on runway 16R in LIRF (Roma). Everithing seems correct : weight, "land 3" mentionned, flaps 25, correct speed.The main gear gently touches the runway and a few seconds later the front wheels do the same. One second after I have a "crash" message. What do I make wrong ? (I didn't try another airport for the moment nor I tried to make a self land). Is this anything related to the runway cat (16R is CAT II) ?Many thanks for your help.

    Hello Captains,During my last flights with the Queen, I noticed a thing, I cannot find an explanation for.Reading the wind data from the FMC's PROG side the wind is for example 256/17. In the map display, there is in most cases a difference from 5 or 6 degrees. So here the wind is shown with 251 or 252/17. Does anybodey know the reason for this ?I am using a non pirated version of FSUIPC (newest) and ASV.
