I was wondering if someone might be able to help me understand something. Below is a picture of a 747 flight deck. In the FO's centre display in the red circle is a green ring. Would someone please give me some information on what this is and how I can display it on the 747. I searched the manual and wasn't able to find any info. Maybe I am missing it. Does anybody know why I cant get the flight director to work prior to being airborn ? normally you should be able to have heading and altitude/vertical speed up and showing prior to being airborn. Mine only works when airborne ?ThanksPhil

first, I wanna ay how wonderful your 737 and 744 are :D Just about the only airliners I fly in FS now. But in search for more realism, does the ILS have to be CAT III to do an autoland? Or does it HAVE to be CAT III rated for better accuracy or something. It seams to work just as well in FS useing the autoland on a normal ILS (with 1/2 vis and 200' for minimums) and just wondering what the deal is :)Thanks!

Hi there. I am just wondering something. The 747 characteristics (climb performance, thrust setting, AoA, etc) are so sensitive to temperature, I have to disable real weather when I am flying at cruising altitudes. How come? I am not experiencing anything of the sort with any of my other addons (yes, they are all affected, but not to the degree of the 747). With real weather (even if the temp at FL360 is only -20 because of it), I can still get your 737, and also my other addons like the767 to still perform well. Any ideas?

I am having a problem extending my flaps in my 747. The flaps stop extending when it reach a quater the way to fully extended. I then have to move the flap leaver back and forth to get them extended. Am I doing something wrong?Please helpBo

Hi all,I have a small problem while descending in the B747. At the top of descend I'm usually at FL370 to FL390. Using Radar Contact I will first be asked to descend to FL350 where I'll be transfered to another controller. So I set the MCP to 35000 and press 'Descend Now' in the FMC. Now everything works fine, I'll be descending at 1250 ft/minute, since I'm below the optimal descend path.However, once I'm transfered to the next controller and asked to descend to e.g. FL240, then my problem occurs. I'm setting the MCP to the new assigned altitude, but it seems that VNAV refuses to go below FL350 before it intercepts the descend path.Anyone who knows how to convince the aut…

i have two little problems with my pmdg 737/747...firstly my sid/tars have vanished off the dep/arr pages of the fmc....i am sure its something i have done but i am not sure how to get them back again..they are still in the fs9/pmdg/sidstars folder.....second problem has only started lately when i land and go to taxi to the gate the rudder on the 747 sticks to the right, so the plane wants to go around in circles..otherwise its a dream to fly

Hi All,Well after flying & landing the PMDG 737-700 by hand, I have decided to see how the FMC works & how it flys by using the automated method.So to start off, I am stuck to be honest. I have installed the latest sids/stars from the navdata page at pmdg.Now what i am trying to do is do a flight from EGNT to EGGD. How do I import the flight plan from FS9? Hey everyone, I want to purchase the PMDG 747-400 but do not know if it will run on my system. Here are my specs:512 MB Ram (384 on control panel-system)3000 AMD Sempron processor 1.81 GHZ160 GB harddriveSiS 760 Rev 00 128 MB graphics cardIf it will help, the LDS 767 runs ok on my computer, 10 frames on ground, with settings at medium/high, and 100% AI traffic. In the air, I can get 15-20 (locked at 20) with it. So what do you think, should I go for it.Thanks,Ene

Hey Guys,Always when i'm on short final(arround 5 NM) with my PMDG i.e 738 or 744 my system crashes or hangs. I tested it with a posky or IFDG several times and no system crash.Can anybody tell me whats wrong. I never had this before.Kevin.

Do anyone know y my PMDG aircrafts give me ALT: 30 000 feet ?all other aircraft in FS2004 have normal ALT, but not PMDG, i took a flight yesterday to see how far i could get the alt, and after 20-30 mins did it tell me that my airplane was in 64 000-65 000 feet.I tryed delete fs9.cfg and it didnt help, i tryed reinstal PMDG and it didnt help, i installed it ower the old one becuse i dont know how to uninstall it, it was no uninstall option any place.i would be thanksful for some help about thishere is a pic of what i mean http://rapidshare.de/files/12620713/PMDG.jpg.html

I was flying in the 747 and I had LNav on. For some reason when I approached a waypoint the plane was slightly to the right of it so it didn't think that we hit the point so the plane turned back to try to get the point and started doing circles. Why did it not detect that we passed that waypoint. I have never had this problem before on any other flight but for this flight it just couldn't hit any waypoints.~Matt

I have done searches on this subject but without success (before anyone asks).Can someone confirm how well the CPflight mcp and EFIS work with PMDG products, including the 737 and 747, before I fork out more money than I can afford.Also,I have a couple of other questions if anyone has the time:1. Does anyone have a view as to which is the better MCP, the Aerosoft Australia MCP or the CP Flight MCP?2. Do the knobs on the CP flight MCP turn with a clicking or non-clicking motion?3. With the CP Flight MCP and it's heading knob for instance, do you push the knob to activate the desired heading as on the real 737?Thanks for any assistance on these matters

OK.. Now, I have a found a liking for this beast/beauty. I think, I'll be flying this for a while.... (Its funny, I bought this the week it was announced and it was in the hanger until the last 4 days).But I am interested in riggging up the most often used switched to hardware of sorts.It looks like Flight Link TR1 avionics is pretty useless for this... Hello to all Staff at PMDG.What can i say What a Great Software Company.now the problem.i will be offline in 3 weeks for about 12 months due to a new house and no internet can be installd for about 12 months.now i have the PMDG installd and working Great but when i need to format or do a Reinstall can this be done with out the internet?the Reason i ask is that i paid good money for this Aircraft and i dont see why i hafto loose it if i have paid for it.but i do understand that PMDG need to keep there software safe as Piracy is all over the webRegardsSpeedbird1216.

I am having a repeated problem of the -700 landing but when I apply reverse thrust the nose rises and the plane then sinks into the runway. FS9 starts to reset as a result of the perceived crash but closes and I get the error message cause being there was a panel error.Anyone else experienced this sort of phenomenon? The landings have been at reasonable speed 140 kts or so and at a touvhdown rate of about 50-300 fpm.Roger Curtiss

Hi People,I was flying fine for a long time - recently i installed Frankfurt SCenery and the Level 767 Software. Since then, all programs - also the 744 is freezing after a while and i cant start the computer at all. I have to turn it down with the emergency button - otherwise i cant start the computer at all. Where could be the problem. The whole FS with the 744 was running fine for a long time.Thanks Marek from LOWW
