Dear All,I'm suddenly having a problrm with my NG setup. I've suddenly started getting CTD's. But only with the NG. All other aircraft are fine. Another fault is that when starting from cold and dark, certain gauges and swithes have stopped functioning, APU and fuel pumps mainly. The electric system goes weird too. I've installed a new ATI X850 XT graphic card recently and have tried both ATI and Omega drivers and uninstalled FS and the NG using the removal tool. I just loaded a saved LNAV/VNAV flight from earlier this week on descent into WMKL at 6000', and all was fine except I suddenly noticed that there was no thrust displayed on the FMA--it was grey in the upper left side. I clicked AT off and then on again but no joy. I turned off the FD and the AT off and on too, but no joy. I then noticed that even with AT switched on, I apparently had control over N1 with my CH throttle quadrant levers which surprised me greatly. So I hand controlled thrust in to TD.I've never had any serious issues with AT on this bird. Although this is not a HUGE problem, it is something that is a bit annoying to me, and possibly to other people as well.In the 747 Load Manager, you can set the amount of fuel you have onboard. As I am sure everyone knows, this is done by means of a slider. The problem that I have is that this slider is not precise, and you are unable to insert a precise amount of fuel in the window that shows the current value.If I am making a flight plan with FSBuild, for example, it will give me an exact amount of fuel to load, including hold, taxi, and any additional fuel. Is there a way of inserting this amount into the Load Manager?The slider will get me to the closest five thousand…

I would first of all congratulate PMDG for their release and all of us, for having a new plane ;)I took my first taxi, take off and landing test yesterday in Dubai, and it all went smooth!I would say that my fps seemed to be much more stable this time, and did not experience any loss of fps that I would be concerned about.I also did a taxi test, and the nose weel DID turn ;)I also like the sounds, more roar and take off power! Great!I just have two things...No click sounds for lights or much of buttons on the overhead, might be me having flown the LVD for some days now and gotten acostum to the many clicks :)Would love to have sound on the knobs and switches and so on.Sec…

Hi AllI import the dark and cold cockpit panel and go through the start flows, when I get to turning the packs on after the gasper I get the sound of engines at idle. I have 747 v1.1 installed with the new 747-400F version on top.Any ideas why please? Does anyone else have this problem? It never did it with the 747 standard.Also can we still use the dark and cold or will there be a new version to take account of any updates?Any news on a tutorial other than the smithy one? Or a printed manual similar to somebody elses? :)ThanksGraham

Hi,A while ago someone of our VA has created a Cargo repaint based on the 400 pax version.Can this repaint also be used on the 400F, or are there (too) many diiferences? (like size, etc)

While testing the USAF test aircraft, I noticed that the beacon on the top of the aircraft didn't flash in the correct position. I can try to take a picture when I'm done with my current flight.

First off major thanks to the PMDG team for this beauty. Hello SupportI was having problems with missing textures as per another post on the same subject, so I took a peek in the Texture folders for the 400F and noticed that all the Texture folders for the liveries I have, have 102 bitmap files in them except my CargoLux GE livery, which only has 9 files at 6.06 MB total size of folder. All my other liveries have 102 files for a total size of from between 30 and 40 MB.Here is a list of the file names of the 9 files in the CargoLux GE folderEngines_TWings_TExternals_TFuse_Right_LFuse_Right_TVC Manuals_TDecalsFuse_Left_LFuse_Right_TI have a feeling there are alot missing. What a great package!! Thanks PMDG for making my dreams come true!Anyway, here are my few problems so far.FPS low - addressed in another topic, but I get horrible frames, single digits on the groundforward main deck temperature control knob, sometimes when turning it to max cool at night, the graphic image displays a daytime texture bipmap, turning it one notch higher fixes it though.fmc and entire pedistal is really dark with the dome light on in the VCMCP heading does not blank out when flying vnav & lnav. is that how its designed? I know with the pax version, the display went blank when flying an lnav route.

PMDG Captains,i have some missing textures in the 2d cockpit as well as the VC. mostly the VC. Mr. Randazzo stated in another post that the "zipped" file download size should be 73.6MB's in size. mine is only 71.9MB's i tried downloading several times still the same size. during the download (in the download window) the file size is being reported as 71.9MB's. could this be the reason for the missing textures? in the VC there's only a few textures. in 2d cockpit looking left, right and up no textures at all except for the toggle switches on the overhead panel. the 2d panel itself looks great. the external textures looks great as well. thanks in advance for the help. …

Since the 747-400F updates files used by the 747-400, if I ever needed to uninstall the 747-400F, would the 747-400 still work or would I need to reinstall that to restore it? In other words, does the 747-400F uninstall process also delete the modified files in the 747-400?Kevin

I made two flight yesterday, and I had twice a black screen. The first one while I was flying (with the standard FS box with the tick to restart FS), the second one just after I land. Very enjoyable!As far as ACARS is concerned, is this all of the functionality that we will get as seen with the 744F, or is there something else in the works in terms of a dispatch center. Love the 747's. The new 747F cut my frame rates down to 8-9 FPS (on a high end machine) in the VC which is about half of the PAX. FYI. I was wondering why there is no starter/spool up exterior sound when starting the engines. I checked a few of the engine sound files like jet41 and jet44 have little or no sound (20kb versus 400 plus kb of others). I have no engine sound on the exterior for engines 2 and 3 but can hear 1 and 4 ok. My interior sounds are ok. But I still hear zero spool up or the deep throaty starter sound. Since I work at the airport where 747 are a few hundred feet away I can always hear the start up process clearly. Just thought I would ask. Thanks.Garth …

Folks, first - thanks for a exellent baby! Havent tested it too much yet, but it looks very nice.Tough, I have some trouble opening the doors and get the loaders in place. Engines are off, no external power connected and I'm hitting SHIFT-E to open the main door, nothing happends. I also assign all the other usual keys like wingfold, tailhook but nothing seem to help..Guys? ;)

I was wondering about the freighter`s engine or ECIAS compatibility witht the passenger version? I was thinking that if we get this "new" B747-400F with the PW and RR engine ECIAS displays will it also patch the problems with the old B744 pax? I have the B744 pax and even if you load the RR or PW models the ECIAS displays are always showing those of GE. SO with this latest add on that now has the engine EICAS displays of those relevant to PW and RR will it update the old pax model that we have as well?Best regards,Darren Liew
