    When my 747-440 loads it tells me it is loading the AIRAC database. Is this connected to the standard FS9 database in any way?As AIRAC loads it reports no less than 65,000 routes! Does Anybody know where they are or where they go and is there any way of getting at those 65,000 routes?Is FSNavigator compatible with PDMG 747-400? To what extent, if any, can routes from the three different databases be exchanged with each other?David

    Here is a video that was shot at the Atlanta Int'l airport in December of last year. It's a manual circling approach & landing to Rwy 09R and was done at 02:15am in the morning with the right engine gone...I had one engine reverser upon landing but decided not to use it and applied manual braking instead since I had a 9000ft runway to work with and wanted no part of any asymetrical forces at 129,000 lbs landing weight....Vref was 142kts with 15 degrees of flaps. Little faster approach with one engine than with two... Exciting but very, very expensive hobby. Oh well, you only go around once in life.     Hi,Has anyone succeeded to configure CH Throttle Quadrant (or any other throttle controller for that matter) to control the flaps using a lever (eg the rightmost lever)?It works fine with the 747-400 but not quite with the 737NG (-800 in this case). Here what I do:1) In FS2004, assign the rightmost axis to the flaps lever, checking "reverse" (so that pushing the lever full forward gives flaps 0)2) In FSUIPC (3.53), on the joystick calibration tab, calibrate the flaps. FSUIPC recognizes the aircraft type and defines the corresponding flap detents positions.Now if I load the Queen I can move the CH TQ lever and the flaps lever on the 747 will move in increment, as expected.…

    OK, here is a problem that I thought might had been freeware scenery, but after testing I don't think it is.     Hello all, I have a question about how the reality of approaches and how to best accomplish that in the simulator. I live in Atlanta, and fly in and out of KATL fairly frequently (as a passenger), so much that I know that most flights are vectored toward the aiport, and then sent parallel to the final approach course, heading outbound from the airport. At about 15-20 miles out, the planes turn inward from the outboad course, and intercept the ILS heading of the designated runway, and begin to intercept the glideslope.     First of all thank you, thank you, thank you on the imminent 747F release, obviously i haven't got it just yet but I am sure it will be a jaw dropper!! Seriously, the PAX 747 has been and IS a thrill to fly, more than a thrill, its simply an absolute pleasure to learn and handle!!   9. Hi there!I am currently running FS9 and the PMDG 737NG series on a laptop. Due to performance reasons I use the default 737 2D cockpit with the PMDG model.I have already resized all aircraft textures from '32 Bit' to 'DTX3' format. Since I also do not use the virtual cockpit I would like to delete these textures from the Texture folder. Can someone tell me which textures I do not need if I am only using a 2D cockpit?I know there are some texture required to see the cabin when you have the doors and cargo holds opened.     when switched to the overhead panel is it fps hungry like the pax version. I am using two monitors, one main screen and the other as overhead. In the pax version this "cost" me about 12 fps.     HiIn the 737, what is the 'text book' way to remove the speed restriction typically 250/10000, assuming you are level at 5000 on an SID and ATC clear you to cruise level with no speed. I know you can use V/S or LVL CHG but what are the VNAV options.If you are a whizz on the 747 too, why not answer for both a/c if the procedure is different ?CheersSteve

    Hican I check something here with you guys please.On the 737, when I see STD in yellow ( or is it green I am colour blind, but don't tell the airline ;-)) it still shows the HPA value in white, does this mean that I am STD mode with 1024 standing by for when I decend below transition level ??Also - on climb the HPA value in white, becomes yellow/green with a box around it, I think this happens at transition alt, but does it mean that the system has made the switch to STD or is it waiting for me to hot the switch to STD ?MTIASteve

    Gents-Wow... I can't believe the last news update was 30JAN...Although it might seem like a long time, the days have been flying by for us on the development team. We had expected to put the 747-400F into beta testing in mid december with a release in late January. Unfortunately, Beta didn't happen until mid January- and from the day this airplane went into beta testing it has been a thoroughly exhausting process....(Here is a classic example of why PMDG never announces release dates!     According to Boeing tables (and the tables in the PMDG manual) Take-Off %N1 is a function of pressure altitude (which is 1013,25 hPa or 29,92 inHg) and airport temperature.However, in the PMDG 747 the %N1 changes with the QNH/Altimeter pressure setting.Is this behaviour correct or am I missing soemthing here?Best Regards,Christian Grill

Reading the forums I notice more chatter about 600/700 and 800/900.   19. hello PMDG i bought, via downlaoad, PMDG 737 NG around march 2005 and have been flying without ony problems but after an fs reinstall my exe file wont copy out of my CD so i cant install the pmdg 737 600 700. My email at time of purchase was [email protected]. I need a new download file ASAP because i have also have pmdg 737 800 900 and cant install it w/out 600 700. i left a screenshot of whats wrong.     Hi everyone, I use a Cost Index while flying the 744 of 100. I'm just wondering what would happen if sayA) I increased it to a cost index of 400:( I decreased it to a cost index of 50Would the plane's cruise speed go up at a higher index? That's what cost index is about isn't it? Balancing how much fuel you are burning with how long you want to wait in the air and pay your employees for etc?Thanks and any help clearing this up would be much appreciated! Paul.

    HelpI can save flights using MSMF 2004 and, thanks to help from this site, can also save the accompaning FMC data. However, when I re-load a flight saved in FS2004 I pause it and then re-load the FMC saved data. The FMC data is loaded but when I "unpause" the simulator the plane ignores the FMC data and just flies off in the direction it was pointing in when last paused. Can anyone please let me know what I must do to continue with my saved flight?Thank you

    Hi y'all!I'm still familiarising myself with 747-400 procedures, flight planning etc, and I'm trying to clarify how the fuel loading is handled between the PMDG Load Manager, the in-game PMDG menu, and the Aircraft.cfg file.I know not to use FS9's built-in fuel loading option due to it not distributing the fuel correctly, but I think I'm seeing some discrepancies between loading the fuel with the PMDG Load Manager, and loading it through the PMDG options menu.I saw a thread here which says that the Load Manager only primes the PMDG options menu with the required fuel, which then needs to be applied to the aircraft.Can someone clarify if this is the correct procedure, or d…

    Hi there,after a long time i started flightsimulator up these days. I did a fresh install of my pmdg a/c's as i had installed FS some weeks ago but didn't find time to continue then.All i took from the backup was the liveries with the aircraft configs.Loading the 737-700 from cold-and-dark (saved flight shipped with the plane) works fine and i can then switch to some other models and some liveries - others crash the flightsim. Using the working models with a working livery i already did some flights and that works fine.Loading the 747 with the saved flight shipped with the plane doesn't even work.
