Hi all,As we know, sometimes you must use pedals to move rudder in crosswind landing.My problem is pedals !I cannot move 'em except while taxing (on ground), on air I've tried so much but I couldn't.They move automatically while banking (without AP!!!).It's very strange, they move for (0.5 sec) and reset !I've disable autorudder before.It wasn't like that, I wish I know why it's being like that.-How to solve that stupid thing ?Regards,Abraham

Hi,yesterday I had my first randomized engine failure. With the help of the abnormal procedures I managed it quiet well I think but though I have a question concerning the inflight start procedure and autothrottle.I can't find anything in the abnormal procedures which tells me to deactivate autothrottle after an engine failure so I left A/T active. Well here's the first problem: According to the abnormal procedures the thrust lever of the respective engine has to be idled - but how? With A/T? I selected Engine 1 with (E + 1) and pressed F1 for idle. But as soon I did that the lever automatically moved back by the autothrottle. Therefore I also had a problem with restartin…

Hi,I've got a big problem.When I save a flight in FS2004 while flying with an PMDG 747 or 737it suddently when I load the flight again it lost all FMC data, needs to be powered up and has completely no route or autopilot data.Can anyone please help me?!!?:-zhelp :-(

I just purchased the 747 and am working my way through Lesson 1. However, after about 10 or 15 minutes into the lesson - but one time after 35 minutes, a taxiing AI aircraft collides with my 747, following which the sim reloads the flight from the beginning with a cold and dark cockpit. This has happened all 3 times that I've tried to do the lesson.The lesson sets the traffic at 30%, so I suppose I could always turn it to 0% or turn off aircraft collisions in the FS 2004 settings and avoid the problem. But the problem ought not to be happening, so I'd like to figure out what's going on. I'm using no addons for Boeing Field where the lesson takes place. However, I am runni…

Captain Randazzo..Congratulations on your upcomming addition to the family!!! (Not the Airbus :))I must say I am rather intrigued by the announcement of the upcomming goodies. Cant wait to see how cool the VC in FSX will be.Although now with all the addons of traffic, passengers, and vatsim there is only a few things missing. And one of them is the actual Crew Interaction.I am sure you as a real world pilot appreciate having a copilot or another crew member in the cockpit to help you out, however for us the virtual flight simmers it is a pretty dull flight on the 747 across the ocean without a single word said (unless online). Hello,I was following the PDMG 737 Tutorial and around the end of the route, I got to change ALT/SPD on a specific leg of my route. But at the time I made a click on the button to set new FL/SPD, I got FS Black screen then the "Crash" message of Windows and auto-restart...I tried to set-up again the same route and tried to change the FL and SPD and this time I got no crash (but I wasn't "en route" so I don't think I can say this will not crash again.Is this can be related to the VNAV ALT option I checked AFTER making the set-up of my flight plan ?Note that I use :737 both 600-700/800-900 version with model update and 747-400 and 400F with updates too.Thanks for your answe…

Hello there,I am a Mac user using X-Plane, but I have decided that I want to buy a Windows System with FS2004 to run the "Queen of the Skies". This system I found:-Pentium IV 2.66Ghz / 533Mhz FSB (No HT)-1GB RAM-ATI Radeon 9550 256MB Graphics Card.Does anyone have an idea how the 747-400 will likely perform on this machine?Thanks in advance,Peter

hi,can somebody please offer some help, how do we create a flightplan.i just bought this queen of the sky a few days ago.i have learn how to start from cold and dark in the cockpit.is it true that flightplan created using default fs9 cannot be use in the queen of the sky. if that is the case,hope somebody can help me.is there a tutorial?regards..

Hello,I think I've found a small bug (easy to fix):If you are using the APU to power the busses instead of the IDGs the system switches automatically back to the right configuration as soon as the gear lifts up from the ground. So far so good and it is really nice that this AIR MODE is modelled! My compliments to the developers!However the same thing is supposed to happen as soon as you apply thrust (74% N2 for GE engine, 73% N2 for PW engine, 67% N3 for RR engine)Also the Runway Turnoff Light should go out in AIR MODE.I hope you fix this bug with the next patch.GreetingsEd

Is there anyway of selecting the 737 so that the cockpit is always cold and dark upon being selected in FS9? Or do i have to use the 'choose flight' from the fs9 menu?Thanks guysDoug

I have been successfully flying the PMDG 737 series for a while now and I have been considering moving up to the Queen of the Skies.However there is one point holding me back. I have many commitments and I find that flights of up to an hour or so can be satisfactorily fitted in . This length of flight with the 737 fits in to a number of actual 737 routes and to me this helps with the realism of the simulation.My problem with the 747 is that to approach reality I would need to get involved in much longer flights. At a guess 2-3 hours or much more. I don't have time for this and I feel flying it on unrealistic short routes would detract from the experience.I am wondering wh…

Hi guys,Just need a bit of help deciphering these wx charts, am unable to find a key. http://aviationweather.gov/data/iffdp/2260.gifFirstly the winds chart above - i understand that the temperature is written in numerals for each position, but the lines (or pointy bit) on the end of each wind indicator are confusing. I remember someone told me once that these indicate the wind speed.Secondly, can anyone help with this SIGWX chart? There are a few abbreviations there which are unknown to me as well as the symbol which looks like _^_ and _:(_http://aviationweather.gov/data/iffdp/2131.gif Cheers,Alex

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!On my flight from Singapore to London tomorrow, I am going to carry this in reserve fuel in accordance with company policy:- 4000kg route reserve fuel- 4200kg/ 30minutes holding fuel- 2000kg approach fuel- 5900kg fuel to alternate- 2200kg additional fuel - roughly 20 minutes extra holding.Total reserves: 18300kgMy question is this:If I fly into heathrow having spent none of my reserve fuel (ie all 18300kg of reserves still there), and am asked to hold for say, 30 minutes, am I legally bound to divert to my alternate airport if my fuel approaches a point at which I wouldn't be a…

when i start the simulation the panel are powered and in function after 30/60 seconds blackout...why? it's a electrical problem? the level battery is too low or it's a bug of software??excuse me but i'm a novice!!

I was wondering if any captains starting up their 744's (F or PAX), if they could make an observation during engine start up, if you hear any engine spooling-up sounds. I don't hear it in mine anymore after I downloaded the latest update which corrected the hold problem, and the ISFD frame rate issue. Prior to the update, there was a distinct start up sound.Is everyone having this problem? I can certainly hear the engines once they've started, but during start up, I can't hear the spooling. And, during engine shut down, I can only hear very little spooling down.Any input would be great. Hi PMDG, is there a sound patch in the works for this issue?Tomas

I'm planning on flying my first flight longer than 3 hours, and decided to go from Frankfurt to Dubai.But before I start planning the flight, I would like to know, if anyone could answer me some questions I have?a) How long is the flight (about 6-7 hours?):( Does anyone have a real world flight plan for this flight?c) What airline should I fly? I know that Lufthansa and Emirates fly with A340 and A330, but I would like to fly on the 747. Maybe EK Sky Cargo or Atlas Air?d) Is it possible to start with daylight at Frankfurt and to land at night in Dubai?Any help would be more than much appreciated!ThanxNik

Hi, I got this elevator failure today when I claimb out. First, I want to say that the A/T is still not working after press the T/O button, the takeoff speed itself deleted itself, I followed every procedures which worked out fine before. This problem only comes out after the Cargo version installed, I'm not sure if the F's has changed some of the functional of the aircraft system which requires some correction made to use the FMC with the A/T to work properly?Anyway, let me stating the failure I enconted to day. as I climb out from the runway with manually control the power, I extractd the gear up, then I found some strange thing happend that I could not apply the auto p…
