Hi,I have just bought PMDG 737NG, I'd like to install the sis star into system. But it seems that my CD is kind of old, the link doesn't work.It was told: but in my menu, the link of 737 OIC is http://www.precisionmanuals.com/frames/737TNG_oic.htmThe page is no longer existing.Another question, I was told to install the data intoFS/FMCWP/NAVDATA The file I have downloaded is including a root dir "PMDG_AIO", do I need to copy this folder under FS/FMCWP/NAVDATA?Or, copy files under this folder to FS/FMCWP/NAVDATA is enough?Or, it should be just copy to the folder FS-mainfolder>PMDGSIDSTARS?Any one can help me to find out how it works please? Thanks and Regards, Sol

It is frustrating that the STARS are not runway specific as are the SIDS. I have been trying to code some updated STARs for local airfiels and am frustrated that this cannot be done. In the RW aircraft an approach can be selected and the STARs for that runway will appear. This is not possible with the PMDG sim. It is ossible to select a STAR that is not availbale for a runway and cause all sorts of issues and confusion. I assume that this FMC modelling is generic to both the 747 Pax, F and 737 variants. Would it be a major to update the programming code for the FMC terminal procedures (ie. rwy specific STARS and transitions, ability to program a speed along side an at or …

Hello: Yes I know this has been discussed before - but the more I read the more I seem to get confused. I need someone to put me right on this one - please. By the way, I fly the 737.Speed is controlled by pitch and rate of decent is controlled by thrust - is this correct?I have read so many differing views on this. One article said: For normal cruising, etc, pitch controls speed (sounds good to me). The artcle then went on to say before glideslope capture speed is controlled by pitch and rate of decent controlled by thrust (I agree). It then said that after glideslope capture, the opposite applies - in other words speed is controlled by thrust and rate of decent is …

Not that you would ever want this to happen in the real world (knock on wood), but how many engines can a 744 lose on takeoff and still be able to get airborne and circle to land safely. My guess would be two, but I'm not positive?

Hi,Following the tutorial verbatim. PMDG/General/Options menu AFDS Throttle not checked. RTO on COM page set.I don't have a joystick so i am using keys instead but i can't get the sim to instigate the RTO! (i think)I gently increase the throttles to ~ 70% using numpad key 9, then when stable i use CTRL Z to set takeoff power (as set up and recommended in the tutorial - no conflicts). All is going well and the aircraft accelerates away - soon HOLD is announced. At 120kts i abort takoff.I use the F1 key to set all engines to idle and then i press CTRL X to abort TO/Discon (as set up and recommended in the tutorial - no conflicts). The aircraft appears to decelerate and the B…

Hello,I'm interested in knowing where I can find a nicely done video of the QOTS that shows the cockpit/interior, in flight activity of instruments, exterior, etc. I'd like to show a friend what this is all about. I tried looking at the PMDG site but didn't see anything (unless it was right under my nose). Can anyone point me in the right direction to such a video? Thanks,Dr. Foo

Hi guys,Lately I've realised my handflying skills are a bit rusty, I;ve been working as an instructor in a Fixed base 737NG sim and I've really had to polish up on this aspect of my flying. At home, I normally put the 747 straight on to the AP after stabilising the aircraft and keep it there until on final. I want to change that though! What I'm after is anybody's personal experience of handflying the 747-400, either in the real world or the sim.- How much of the flight do you handfly? What parts of the flight?- What techniques do you use?- What rules of thumb have you found useful?- What power settings achieve certain speeds at certain flap settings? If any of you out ther…

Hello there, the other day I had a BUS 3 Isolation failure. One of the fuel pumps went inop. Is that for load shedding? As I understand it however, the isolation is just for providing a connection, should one generator fail. However if the power source is still working, everything should work without a difference. Where is my fault?GreetingsEdgar

As if there's a lack of 744 schemes to paint, I'd still like to someone do a "classic" Pan Am paint.Ben Zwebner did great job on the more modern Pan Am scheme that is on AVSIM. But I haven't noticed a classic paint out there. Maybe there is???I'd try it myself but I have zero artistic ability.By classic, here is what I mean.Cargo:http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0540998Passenger:http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0218638Hopefully one of the talented painters out there will give it a go.

Hello After having read the AOM and the Type rating course no.2 I'm still confused in one aspect of the CDU's Take-off Ref page. LSK 1L shows the flaps retracting altitude. LSK 3L shows the thrust reduction altitude. Both can have a value in feet AGL. How are those two values connected. In my understanding both should show the same value, i.e. flap retraction no sooner than thrust reduction. Or the other way: Only after selecting climb thrust flap retraction starts. Thanks for your help, Pilots. RegardsTom

Hello all,I have a quick question.I did the new type rating course lastnight (which is excellent), but once I started the APU it didn't show that it was running in the upper EICAS. The available lights appeared on the APU generator buttons, it just didn't advise in the EICAS. I then did a search of the PMDG options to see if maybe I had deselected something, but no joy.Does anyone know how to solve this. I also did a search here before posting but couldn't find anything.Regards.

Hi guys,Just landed the 744 in Latacunga (SELT) at 9191 feet. Although the Outflow valves are open the Cabin altitude remains at 8500 feet. I should say with the valves opened the cabin alt should be equal to the landing alt. The doors can be opened too. Anomaly or am I missing something?regardsTon

Cannot insert a zero "0" when programming the FMC. When I try to enter a "0" it types in an "8", the number above it. Somtimes when I try to enter the number "8" it will enter a "5". Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?
