I have noticed during numerous real world flight as a passengeer in 747-400's that during (what i would assume are) cross wind takeoffs, the trailing edge on the wings beyond the flaps are set slightly up or down and stay that way until wheels up and then they line up with the edge of the wing..i hope you guys know what i'm talking about..this is the far edge of the wings that does not bend when the flaps are activated.When i am taking off with the PMDG 747-400 in crosswind conditions, i have to keep adjusting the nose wheels with my pedal so as not to drift off the runway during my takeoff roll. I am not sure that this is the proper way to do this. Is there a way to us…

Hi. Bought the 747 last week, and have been spending some time with it this weekend, with the lessons posted on the PMDG-site. I must say, thank you for a great product. I'm really impressed.Anyway: I take-off, and do it "after the book". Keep the purple cross centered, and retract the flaps when I'm supposed to. From 10 to 5, everything seems normal, but from 5 to 1, and 1 to fully retracted, they don't seem to move. Speed never exceeds 250, so I don't think they're broken or something. And again, thanks for a great plane. turned out to be ny first payware plane, and I don't regret spendiing those money

Hi i have read the manual but i am not very good with understanding them very well. When i read the manual in the FMC part it said something about waypoints j13, something like that. well how do i find the waypoints. so say ime going from KSEA to KLAX and put waypoints in for legs or what ever lol how do i find the waypoints like what it says in the manual. As i say i find it hard to understand all this with the FMC even after reading the manuals.Can anyone help?Thx for the replies

When I get into the slow end of the lfight envelope and the stick shaker starts, the sound is terrible. It's about 3 times louder than any ther effect, even drowning out the warning horn.I've played the .wav file from the AircraftPMDG747-400sound folder (PMDG747_STALL.wav), and it sounds normal through Media Player. I've even opened it in a Wave editor and it's not a loud .wav.I've re-installed the 747 and this hasn't fixed the problem. I checked the sound.cfg file and I have the following section:{STALL_WARNING}filename=PMDG747_STALLmaximum_volume=9100At forst I thought the "maximum_volume=9100" should have been 100 so I changed it but that made no difference. I may be slow here but it seems to me (after checking the site numerous times over the past 3 months) that the Navdata site will not be updating the AIRAC's anytime soon - as a result i am still using version 513.So, where are you guys getting your updated version and how do you install it to PMDG?Anthony

I noticed while flying the NG 737-700 that I get shadows on the cockpit windows. On the left and right side cockpit windows I get shadows that appear to be reflections of the window posts of the opposite side window.I also get shadows of the pilot

HiI am looking to purchase Flight Environment and also the new Ground Environmen.I was wondering if these would be compaible with the PMDG 737 and 747 products.I remember having read that the 747 is not really recommended to be used with weather generating programs.Does Flight Environment include this typoe of app?Thanks,Gian

The following is a post that I placed on FSnav support forum.When attemping to connect FSnav to an ongoing session with the PMDG 747-400, all system sounds disappears. By this I mean the sim and windows system sounds as well. I have check sounds through the control panel and all is normal. The only way that I can get the sound back is to close out MSFS. If I reload MSFS and load a MS aircraft I can connect Fsnav with out any trouble at all, but if I then load the PMDG bird I am back to square one again. Regards,Bob Johnson

I have had the PMDG 747 for a couple of weeks and i just done a flight from EGLL to EHAM. when i put EHAM into the FMC it said not in database. can somebody plz help me.Also how do u put the ILS freequency and the ILS runway hdg in manually as i can't find how to do this.Thx for all imput.

I downloaded the Cargolux GE version for the freighter tonight, and noticed that under the nose, AIR FRANCE was painted on. Also, the manuals inside the virtual cockpit are AIR FRANCE.anyone have the same occurance? i downloaded it today which said it was updated APril 15.tom

Hello,the other day I experienced a Sys 4 Hyd failure. The manual says: Plan to land at the next suitable airport. I was flying VHHX - EHAM and was in the middle of China. What would you do in reality? Fly back to Hong Kong with fuel jettison? The plane was flying perfectly so why not handle the problem when landing at the destination.GreetingsEd

I just flew a short flight from Pheonix to Salt Lake City in a -900 and although I had the fuel tank selection on the center tank; it was feeding off the wing tanks. I even shut off the aft fuel pumps to see if this would force feed off the center tank but it did not. Why is that sometimes flights will feed off the center and other times off the wing tanks. Also, once you shutdown, and restart for another leg the a/t won't work. If you try engauging the a/t first light will flash. Help please.

I just bought the PMDG 737 800/900 and I am having problems with the autothrottle. I click it to arm it and it stays on for about 1 second and then turns off. I also have the 737 600/700 but it its not installed. What do I do?

Captains, I just want to know what version of QOTS you have? I must have been asleep at the yoke, becuase apparently there were two patches? I bought the original 744-F, and with that, the sound set was updated on both the PAX and F. Then, a few days later, a patch was issued to fix the ISFD fps and HOLD anomalies. This was patch 1.01.Was there another patch right after that which addressed the sound issues? Was it patch 1.10?So, I was wondering what version are you all flying with now? Thanks,Tomas

I was having an issue with my hard drive so had to uninstall then reinstall everything, including FS9. After reinstalling the 747, the com raidos dont work. They're not even on.I start with the default cessna, turn the power off, leave the avionics on, then change to the 747. I've been doing this for a while and there were no problems before. Any ideas?Goran

Captains-I haven't finished the PMDG 747-400 TRC 3 just yet. Look for it to appear Sunday - Wednesday timeframe.The weather finally turned nice here. I live in the desert and we've had rain almost continually since January- so I've been outside enjoying myself. :-)

Hi Guys I really do need a bit of help. The problem is the V Nav diconnects on every flight i fly, at the same time as the Alt Hold comes on .It appears to happen, regardless of height or speed,even if i adjust the descent path to make it even easier for the FMC to cope it still occurs. [i use adware to plan my flights] If i repeat the flight the same thing happens, but not usually at the same point of the descent.OK i still manage to land but its not a realistic way of flying is it. A question more about the real bird than the PMDG model, so I hope it belongs here.I just returned from a trip downunder, and while flying one of those legs in a B744 I had a window seat that showed a view looking back along the leading edge of the wing, and those two huge engines (GE in this case). I noted that both engines were supported by an underwing strut, but the mounting of the leading edge of that strut was different for the inboard and outboard engines. Hi,Sorry for bringing this back up but as no one else has posted any problems with this part of lesson 2 - i guess i am in isolation :( First - thanks to both Qavion and D17S for their replies given previously. However, I am no further on and i am now exasperated.I am following the tutorials verbatim. The PMDG/General/Options menu AFDS Throttle is not checked. RTO on COM page is set amd announced on upper EICAS.I don't have a joystick so i am using keys instead but i can't get the sim to instigate the RTO - ever!I gently increase the throttles to ~ 70% using numpad key 9, then when stable i use CTRL Z to set takeoff power (as set up and recommended in the tutorial - no co…
