Today I decided for the first time to activate failures of the category "nuisance" After a few hours (when I got myself a cup of coffee) I heard "WHOOP,WHOOP". Getting back on the flightdeck the aircraft was turning in circles and was descending.In the RW 744 you than see on the upper eicas the cause of the malfunction ( in this case disconnected center AP) what caused this malfunction ( probably a Hydraulic #1 overheat,pressure loss). Also all related items are shown on the lower eicas as status messages. In the sim all displays were free of messages, no cautions, no status.....no nothing. Is this related to my system or is it not modelled in the PDMG 744?Ton

Hi guys,While on autoland on a certain moment all 3 AP provide guidance (3 lights are lit)In the PDMG 744 this moment is when the LOC is captured and the APP button is armed.What I understand from the RW manual(s) is that the 3(or 2) AP are activated and provide guidance on the moment that the AC is below 1500 FT RA and LAND 3 (or 2) is annuciated in the PFD.Any input on this issue?regardsTon

Hi guys, I was reading through the PMDG 747-400F updates for the -400 passenger version and I noted one of the important fixes was the non-deletion of winds information for waypoints along the route when the pilot executes a "direct to waypoint" command. However, I noticed that winds information is still deleted when there is a route modification on the DEP/ARR page. I first encountered this departing on a simulated transpacific flight, when ATC informed me of a runway change. As soon as I entered the new runway in, "INSUFFICIENT FUEL" appeared, and when i checked the winds page, all the inputting I had done was erased.It also happens on changing arrivals. Many times, …

Hello all and Happy Easter!!I was just curious about the previously posted autothrottle lesson. Does anyone know where it went? I purchased a 3-ring binder to keep all of the type rating lessons in, and I would also like to include the autothrottle lesson. The link on the PMDG website under "support" goes to the first type-rating lesson, although the link is named "747-400 TRC lesson 1 (Autothrottle)." Hi everyone, I'm getting to grips with flying the excellent PMDG 744.Anyways, the problem I'm having is that when I fly a short practice flight from EINN to EIDW and select "ILS28" in the EIDW's arrivals on the DEP/APP page the plane doesn't give me nearly a long enough final. As I approach the runway from the opposite direction (basically I am flying parallel to the runway, but in the opposite direction) the FMC Legs page tells me that my next waypoint is "DUB92". Now I can see on the N/D that DUB92 is where I want to be, because it's the waypoint that extends to the end of that dotted white line that comes out from the runway on the ND - in other words it's the start of…

Hi there guys, I was just viewing the Merpati Just planes DVD over the easter break and discovered that the B737-200 classic and the Fokker 28s are actually very nice and versatile planes flying into small airports all around my home country of Indonesia. About the next plane to develop I guess will be these old workhorses. I miss them aready as there are not many left flying as most have also gone to the scrapyard or are flying as freighters right? Ever since I got my CH Throttle Quadrant and set flaps to one its levers and spoilers to another, I have had this issue. Basically I program a flaps 20 takeoff in the FMC as normal and throw out the flaps well in advance of rolling out on the runway for takeoff. Yet when I then apply full power for takeoff, I get loud warnings saying "config flaps" and "spoilers extd". Now flaps ARE configured and the spoilers ARE not out (both of these have been verified when I click "THROTTLE" in the panal switcher). The warning stops when the co-pilot calls out "V1".Can anyone help solve this issue? I assume it must be something to do with putting flaps/spoilers on levers on my throttl…

We just announced we are getting winglets for all 77 of our 737s. We have one flying around with winglets as a test plane. I guess the test is complete because we are doing them all. Now is there a chance someone will do a repaint of an American jet with winglets? Please.

when i first installed the queen, i lost squawkbox from the module folder. so i just reinstalled it. everything ran well for 3-5 flights. now it is lost again. i have not installed anything else into MSFS. obviously i have to reinstall it. but does anyone know why, and how to keep this from reoccuring?.also, my signature sometimes will not display on the forum........... al

Whenever I try to load the 747 with a sound set by a 3rd party developer such as Devyn Silverstein or Steven Persson, most of the time, the sounds don't even play, just the sounds of the instruments. How do I fix this?

Hello everybody,i tried to find something concerning this topic in the forum, but i could not find anything. I was practising the VOR/DME approach RWY09 at St. Maarten (TNCM/SXM) with the 747 yesterday. I followed the printed chart and went on till i got onto the 096 heading at the end of the procedure down to the MDA. For this procedure i could use LNAV perfectly as it was following everything programmed very smoth. The only thing that i was thinking about was a VNAV descend onto the runway. I read the manual and to tried to find out how to use VNAV so that it guides me the way with the FD down to the runway, but i couldn't find it. So I ended up using v/s which worked f…

I had a disk crash and am trying to reload all my flightsim stuff. Why does PMDG make it so hard? I dont have all the downloads from my original install and the links on the website don't work. I paid for 737 600/700 800/900 and 747, now I cant get these programs working again. It is very frustrating that these files aren't available online. I got the 747 working but dont have all the updates to the 737.

Even at the start of a new flight with fresh everything and loaded tanks, the GToW is always listed on the PERF page of the FMC as about 1-2K lbs lower than the "Dual" weight. This is because the fuel calc is always less than total fuel listed on upper EICAS (fuel totalizer.)What causes this difference to occur and does it matter? Should one adjust for it by simply raising the ZFW on the PERF page by the amount of fuel diff?Jonathan

After hours of building an FMC flightplan by hand and figuring out the departure runway and SIDS, etc., I finally hit To/Ga at LLBG rwy 26 and one-third of the way down the departure runway, I hit the ILS tower for rwy 26 that is positioned next to my left wing on the edge of the runway and crash. It's beyond belief. Who would EVER place an ILS tower in such an insane location?!Do I delete this tower with AFCAD 221 , or what? Will it affect my ability to ever do an ILS approach into the reciprocal heading?I can't bloody believe this!Jonathan

Hiya.I have the SID/STAR file from Planepath in the folder for both PMDG and "another payware aircraft that shall not be named in this forum but is an excellent model of a 767-300ER" but the SID/STAR do not come up in the FMC. Ideas?

I'm confused about this detail:As you can see in the picture the aircraft axis is 310/130 degrees magnetic.
