Hi guys, as far as I know (and if it is correct), part of the air we bleed in the plane is supplied by the hot exhausted gas from the engine, then goes through one of the 3 packs( giant frig) and then goes into the cabin. My stupid question is why it didn't designe in another way, which is intake the cool air and then heat it.thanks ben

Hi to all,I'm new in this forum.I fly with the beautiful 737 series for fs9 and now i'm arrived at a point that I need to generate personal SID/STAR for Airports that ar not included into the file presented in navdata.atAlso some procedures are wrong and i found some troubles to adjust the procedures myself. For example to takeoff from rnwy 9 of LIPQ the procedure needs a turn to hdg270 when passing 600ft and than proceed to the waypoint IPINO intercepting the radial 227 from VOR RCH. Well, when i select on the FMC the correct SID, it insert a DISCO at 600. Looking the at the cockpit, I note that the path of LNAV begins on the start of the rnwy and not at the end. Why this…

Hi allwhen you land the 744 in fs9, then press F2 once to bring the plane into one notch of reverse, is this the idle reverse??Thanks

what do you guys suggest is a good software program to help with the FMC navigation database. I used to have one that was really good and let you import the the lfight plan directly to the FMC on the 737, anoyone remember that software brand? anyone have any other good suggestions???thanksCaptain Grant

I had an interesting experience today. I know many of you are very familiar with the fine DVD production on the EGLL KSFO Virgin 19 flight.Well I live in the SF Bay area. Today I decided to take a long hike up one of the many high hilltops we have in the area. I decided to bring along my scanner as I sometimes do, to see what I can pickup.Well not long after I had started my way down from the top of my climb. I came accross a call from todays VIR 19 flight descending out of 24000, If I recall the altitude correctly. Being familar with the air frequencies in the area, and following both the First Officers calls and controllers as well, I was able to clearly follow the fl…

http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KSNAI wonder how a 737NG-700 could lift off a 5700 foot runway with enough fuel at Orange County, Californis and fight the westerlies to get to PHNL Honolulu. The longest block I see within the last couple of days is 5:10. This is Aloha Airlines. Hey everyone, I'm new to flight simulation, so any help you can give me will be a considerable amount of information. I am trying to figure out the auto-land function on the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the skies. -What are the steps in order to configure the auto-land-How do I intercept the ILS frequency-Where do I enter the frequencyThese are the problems I am trying to overcome in the flight simulation world. And yes, I have read over the manual, but found it not to be clear enough for me to understand.Any help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksJoshuah WetzelE-mail: [email protected]

Fellow Captains:As Cpt. Randazzo stated the PMDG 747 is more advanced that it appeared at first. The FMC does more than I thought. I have done a lot of good flying with it but I would like to go through the TRC Lessons. I copied eveything exactly as it says in the documentation and was able to get through lesson 1. I went to do lesson 2 and found the plane not powered up as the lesson states when seleceting the flight for lesson 2 - part 1. I believe my folder structure has been compromised. I have tried renaming folders and manually copying files as noted in the doumentation and also extracting the zip files as instructed in the documentation but all the files don't seem…

...Hello guys,I am posting this just to see if PMDG or others can reproduce it and eventually take it into account and look into it...but it's not a real biggie(at least for me),although I believe it is worth investigating. During the rollout phase after landing, I wanted to cancel the A/T disconnect caution on the EICAS...and usually this can be done by RIGHT-clicking the TO/GA switch on the panel again. On two occasions I accidentally LEFT-clicked the TO/GA switch during the rollout and this caused a CTD after an initial freeze/lockup of FS9 with a windows error reporting window popping up.It's fine left-clicking to activate the TO/GA on take off or go-around in the air…

Hi Brian,I am interested in trying your 747 prf file for FSBuild. I e-mailed you a week or so ago, but no reply yet so I'm thinking that your email might be an old one. Please let me know if you are still interested in others testing your file.ThanksCharlie K

The other evening, I was enroute to Zurich in the PMDG 737-800 and was tuned to Unicom on Com 1. I decided to listen to Swiss Radar on Com 2 as I was due to enter into Swiss airspace in half an hour. When entering Swiss airspace, I turned off Com 2 on the radio Stack and retuned Com 1 to Swiss radar. I was then handed off to Zurich Approah but when I tuned com 1 to Zurich Approach, I found that Com 2 was still receiving Swiss Radar. I checked the Radio stack and the Com 2 light was definitely out.Having two people speak simultaneouly made life very difficult, especially as I find understanding ATC instructions a struggle sometimes anyway and the problem persisted when hand…

Hi EveryoneI was wondering if somebody could shed some light on the above request. At the moment I am using the fs9 for all my routeplaning and ATC.I do not have any problems with tranferring route points into the FMCmanually for short jouneys-But when its long haul than it becomes a nightmare-as you guys know some routes have more than 20 vors etc to programme. This takes along time for me-espcially when I have to repeat things due to wronge entries etc.To bypass these steps I was wondering if there is a way of saving the fs9 flightplan so that you can SAVE it DIRECTLY into the FMC routeplan directory. I notice that the FMC only recognises routes planned throughit in the…

We've just released the first dates for the new B747-400 full-motion simulator at London Gatwick. As with our 737NG simulators, we're expecting lots of PMDG 'pilots' to come and put their flying skills to the test. To celebrate the launch we're running a free-to-enter competition. The prize is a 2-Hour Exclusive Experience on the B747-400, worth

Hi,I would like to know how to continue a flight plan even if I have not received from the ATC the number of runway before passing the last waypoint. In other world if I don't put the arrival runway into the FMC after the last waypoint I receive "end of plan" from the FMC and I'm not more able to configure the FMC correctly when I receive from the ATC the right runway. In every tutorials I read the arrival runway is choosed before the departure. Is it correct? Have I to choose anyway a runway at departure and change it at arrival? Even because I have not a correct t/d point into flightplan if I have no arrival runway into the flightplan.Every explanation will be very appre…

Is there anyplace to download takeoff data cards? And what are the other preflight duties that are done by the pilot that include the charts listed in the manual? Do the v-speeds need to be manually calculated even though the fmc will od the job? I just want to simulated airlines procedures to the highest accuracy.

Steve,My roommate sent me this link today. http://www.airliners.net/discussions/gener...d.main/2873585/"The route review will also see Air New Zealand's Boeing 777 aircraft deployed on flights NZ1 from Heathrow to Auckland and NZ2 from Auckland to Heathrow, both via Los Angeles effective 29 and 28 October respectively."Are you allowed to tell us what ANZ is doing with the 744's? Any info would be nice. I'm not happy to see the 747 being replaced by the 777. :(

I lost my old PC to an internal fire (talk about exciting!) and have replaced it with a much nicer machine. I was able to reload the 747-400 and get it working just fine with one serious problem. The PFD and MFD show all the proper information upon starting, but within 2 minutes they both go to blank screen and stay that way. I hame looked thru the manual for something that will alleviate the problem but so far no joy. Any ideas? Thanks,Bill Ehmig

I cant seem to understand why I have problems switching the fuel to tank to engine. When the eicas message come up I switch off the main overide pumps and then when I switch off the crossfeed valves I get a warning sound. What am I doing wrong?
